Trysanna
Those whirlwinds look lovely, Augustus, well done. I'm really taken with your bikers scheme. I love all the black you've used on the Marines, can't wait too see a whole squad of them together. Also, dat las. :P Edited October 20, 2015 by Tarvick
Flint13
That black and white thing you've got going does a great job at breaking up what would otherwise be a great banana expanse. Excellent work!
helterskelter
These fists are awesome. That apothecary though, it all works. Can't say much more without gushing, but it's an inspiration once more

Augustus b'Raass
Hi everyone, Tomorrow I'll be buying myself a new tact squad and continue building and painting two five man squads with heavy weapons, as well as finishing the devastators. Alas, one of the spotlights in my photobooth broke, so I won;t be able to get the usual high-quality pics up. I got the idea to expand my 1250 army to about 1850, where the Chaplain and the Captain of the two demi companies are seated on a bike. So I started building a Chaplain on bike - which turned out to be a lot of fun. I used the skull helmet from the FW Night Lords helmet kit, and put a laurel on it. The servitor cherub is one of the Blessed Omni-retinue from Puppetswar, with a regular GW servo skull as a replacement for the baby head. http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d185/mkruijff/Imperial%20Fists/temporary_zpsqkrt9be1.jpg http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d185/mkruijff/Imperial%20Fists/temporary_zpskieudyev.jpg http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d185/mkruijff/Imperial%20Fists/temporary_zpso0pxkuvw.jpg http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d185/mkruijff/Imperial%20Fists/temporary_zpswmuxcnef.jpg Here are the three devastators I did up to now. The sergeant (super standard, built right out of the kit) with the flying meltabomb baby. http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d185/mkruijff/Imperial%20Fists/temporary_zps1wfuj3pc.jpg And two lascannon wielding devastators. http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d185/mkruijff/Imperial%20Fists/temporary_zpsrgssfvzv.jpg I hope you like them. Thanks for looking and feedback welcome as always! Replies: @zxyogi: Sweet as? As wat? As ass? ;) @Tarvick: Yeah mate, thanks. I love it too - for the first time ever I'm actually looking forward to painting more bikers! One thing though "Dat las"? Wut you mean? @Flint13: I love some salt and pepper on my bananas. @helterskelter: Gush away, bro! I dis it out, so I can take it! Wait.... did I say that out load? @Kight of the Raven: Hhaha thanks buddy! And that apothecary by kizzdougs is indeed beautiful. It deservedly landed him the Most Impressive Miniature badge last year's ETL. @Teetengee: Sure! Will do tomorrow, after I've rebased the apothecary. Would that be alright? MrBear
Well it's nice to see some things in life are constant, I'm lying low for a couple of weeks and you deliver a ton of great looking miniatures in the same time! Too many of them to comment on individually but keep up the good work!
JeffTibbetts
Amazing work! These guys are coming together fast, and looking stellar. This pretty much sets the bar for great-looking yellow on Fists, in my book. That black and white thing you've got going does a great job at breaking up what would otherwise be a great banana expanse. Excellent work! Great banana expanse? You say the weirdest/funniest stuff sometimes. :D
sockwithaticket
I hate to say it now that they're painted, mate, but mould lines! The legs of the lascannon boys have very clear ones, particularly the crouching marine. The Apothecary and all 3 (3!!! Ridiculous speed) Whirlwinds are typically excellent. This is absolutely boss. Both side doors have the quartered shield in black-and-white iconography of the Fifth Company.http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d185/mkruijff/Imperial%20Fists/WP_20151007_006_zpswkymqiqr.jpg The sense of motion you've gotten into the Deredo is outstanding in a model whose typical build is so static. Trysanna
Nice looking Chappy, I like the NL head you've gone with, fits pretty well. Oh, like 'dat ass', but with lascannons, so like las...it was a terrible joke, I'm sorry! Augustus b'Raass 1 Back to top
Midnightmare
Awesome work again, really top notch - your Fists are going to be an awesome army. Including Captain 'Panda' (lol damn auto-correct :p )

Augustus b'Raass
@Teetengee: thanks buddy! Yes, beakies for the win! @MrBear:"a constant".... are you implying I am a force of nature???? @sockwithaticket: Argh! Yes, I've noticed them too - I got a little too excited about the 2nd edition-style decastator legs after buying the kit and built and undercoated them without thinking about modl lines. My terrible mistake indeed. Thanks for the comments - also about the whirlwind - glad you like the 5th company door The deredeo is close to being ready for paint. @Tarvick: AAahhahahahaaaah dude please keep 'm comin'. I love jokes that are too terrible to immediately understand. The worse they are, the better. @Midnight Runner: Haha another one for the books there. ;) @SkimaskMohawk: Shhhhh! Aasfresser
The bike chaplain looks so cool! The helmet with the laurel is such a nice idea, I might steal it for a measly cultist Not the helmet but the laurel of course. MrBear
@MrBear:"a constant".... are you implying I am a force of nature???? Nah, you're unnatural mate. The Prophet
Awesome apothecary! The colours are really striking! And what kind of slaaneshi drugs do you use to paint at such an extreme speed?! Three whirlwinds, come on! Nice to see that cool chaplain, even though it meant I have lost...
Psykic_scribe
That's going to be a very cool chaplain. My preference would be to reverse the crozius so that the skull eyes on the crozius, the skull helmet and the servitor all alight for one cool pic, but yes, in 3D your version this makes all views interesting. Augustus b'Raass
Hey everyone! It's been super long. almost three weeks without an update. Sorry about that, I guess Betrayal at Calth happened. I jumped right on the hype train and didn't get off until the boxes hit the stores. I bought 1,8 sets (I shared one box with a buddy, who got a tac squad and the termie captain). Ermagerd these boxes are awesome. At first I was a little bummed out by the Contemptor, but after seeing KrautScientist's awesome and surprisingly subtle reposing of his Contemptor, I'm sold on that model too. Anyway, I will be posting lots of updates in the coming days, as I actually took a week of from work to hobby one full week. Oh yissss. So. Lots of plans. I´ll be using the first box to finish my 1250 list of Imperial Fists; for which I'll be mixing two of the MkIV tactical squads with my recently purchased 40K tactical squad, another set of five 40K devastators, and a lot of bits and gubbins I've collected since starting my Imperial Fists. The WB chaplain will be the Chaplain in the second Demi Company - bare bones so I'll have te replace his plasma pistol with a bolt pistol. I'll also give him a skull helmet of some sort. I'll be using the second Chaplain's crozius on the Chaplain on bike I recently posted. I've ordered a FW Imperial Fists contemptor, which will be rocking the two assault cannons. I'll probably save one plastic one to convert into something chaotic along the way, and the other might be used for a future 30K heresy army (seeing as I still have over 30 MkIV marines left over after the above) or perhaps as an Imperial Fists one. But seeing as I already have the Deredeo lined up, as well as the IF contemptor, that might be overdoing it on the dreadnought front. Who knows? In the meantime I have not been idle. I finished the devasator squad with the two lascannons and a fourth (4th!) razorback. Here's the devastators. As you'll notice the banner isn't fielded by the champion, as his backpack is kinda full with the signum. All my squads need a banner though, so I thought it'd be cool if that honour would fall to a 'regular' marine in the squad. Cool, no? http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d185/mkruijff/Imperial%20Fists/temporary_zpsckmrukal.jpg Also, I've built and finished a fourth razorback. Notice I've used a couple of the Crimson Fists tank pack symbols on it. http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d185/mkruijff/Imperial%20Fists/temporary_zpsp50spojj.jpg http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d185/mkruijff/Imperial%20Fists/temporary_zps6u2q5tan.jpg http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d185/mkruijff/Imperial%20Fists/temporary_zpsasqtcv0d.jpg http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d185/mkruijff/Imperial%20Fists/temporary_zps6u2q5tan.jpg And here's a picture of all four boys together. Imagine what eight of them will look like in a couple of months! http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d185/mkruijff/Imperial%20Fists/temporary_zpsreub6a6u.jpg I also repainted the multimelta on the attack bike, and used some autumn leaves and water effects on its base. http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d185/mkruijff/Imperial%20Fists/temporary_zpsexkigrky.jpg http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d185/mkruijff/Imperial%20Fists/temporary_zpse3shdrjv.jpg Anyway, that's it for now. I'll be posting some WIP marines in a couple of hours. :D In the meantime, thanks for looking. Replies! @Brother Heinrich: Thanks buddy! He'll be rocking the new HH chaplain's crozius! @Aasfresser: HAha steal right away, my friend. :tu: @Viridia: cheer mate! I'll have him done by the end of the month. Pinky swear. @kizzdougs: it is isn't it. Perhaps he is a Night Lord. By heart, I mean. ;) @Mrbear: Nuh uh! I swear it's not so. Not a demon, anyway. @The Prophet: I take a combination of quaruple espresso stimms with a cold shower, using my airbrush. Seriously. @Psykic_scribe: Not to worry about the crozius, buddy (although I agreed with your suggestion) the crozius has been replaced by the one of the HH chaplain.
