*ahem*

You might want to take this somewhere else.

Heh, point taken. I'll keep the Nostraman (or as I like to call it, whispering all stabby like) to a minimum.

I feel like one of these guys has to be named Franz

Oh, good name Black_out. :)

And he needs to have a twin named Karl, as in Karl Franz. ;) (I think that's probably in the running for worst joke ever, but, y'know, whatevs.)

@Augs: Ah, mixed up the 'dreads? That makes much more sense now :P

I already named the Techmarine with thunderfire cannon Tomas Golch so I already used up my name request but Franz just seemed like SUCH a fitting name for the Imperial Fists lol.

@NemacVradon: Hi Nemac, thanks for commenting. So happy you like my Night Lords! Yes, I will be returning to them. Some day. They are my core army and I still feel like a Night Lords player at heart, but I'm a bit burned out painting blue atm. So the focus will remain Imperial Fists until the ETL. In the meantime, do you want a place in my Imperial Fists army

That would be awesome! Thanks :biggrin.:

Edit: I've thought of a couple of names, Adolar Notker and Aschwin Adelheid - Your choice on who and which you pick :)

Yesterday saw me and Ruben play two 1250 games. I fielded my 1250 list of Imperial Fists, while he did his Iron Warriors biker list, using the SM codex and White Scars chapter tactics. (I know, let it go). Although I utterly destroyed him in the first and won the second game too, I learned a couple things from both games:

The first game was a diagonal Spoils of War scenario. It was interesting in that I had a complete gun line and ended up compeltely blocking my own LOSs. Remember: only the models in a miniatures unit do not black line of sight.

First game deployment:

The second game saw him outflank most of his units (and him rolling horrendously for it, which allowed me to pick his army apart unit by unit). It did teach me that outflanking can be countered by parking razorbacks along the sides - and thus blocking outflanking units from entering the table edges within 6" of them. Also: eight razorbacks are great for board control (I controlled almost all objectives the entire game) but also lots of difficult terrain yield lots of dangerous terrain tests, which is bound to yield some 1s eventually. Better take care of thet in future games.

Second game turn three shot.

The second game had a great moment wherefive scouts (which had deployed very close to but out of sight of his devastators, in the building in the top left corner of the above shot) assaulted the devastators in turn two, made them flee off the table with only one casualty of themselves, thus taking over control of the sixth and last objective, and thereby securing me the D3+3 VPs on my Domination Tactical Objective, for which I rolled a 3, thus scoring me 5 points. HOWEVER. The objective was Sabotaged! And of course I rolled a 1 for it. I then rolled 4 its, which all wounded the last four remaining scouts, and none of them made their save. We proceeded to have a discussion/conversation about what would happen now. You see, both the Tactical Objective and the Sabotage! result are executed at the ´end of your turn´. So did I score the points or not? We decided unanimously that in the spirit of the game I wouldn't, but it still remains an interesting ambiguity.

The heroic, yet ultimately doomed scouts.

@The Psycho and Black_out: Karl and Franz are both cool names as a basis for Jermanic names in teh 41st millenium. A shame you both already had your pick :P

@Nemac Vradon: Adolar Notker it is! You'll be a comms officer in VI tac squad. :)

@Grizzly_bear: Indeed. A Chaplain of DOOOOOOOOOOOM! ;)

@Soric: Sure buddy. Can't wait for the name you come up with.

@Lord Commander Eidolon: The attack bike driver of VII Assault squad is yours. I've 40Kified the name slightly into Askel Langsdov.

@MikhalLeNoir: you're welcome to him. But don;t you want to be in my main 1250 list? It'll be at least MONTHS before I'll get to the Storm Talons.

Room for one more? I'm not too worried about where I end up, but Anselm Cynebalt answers the call of war!

Of course! Welcome to it. Anselm Cynebalt now stands proud as the comms specialist of I Scout Squad. Thanks for participating! :)

Soooo I made a seventh and last vow in the Imperial Fists Expansion II event. In the interest of completeness I'll copy the vow here and show the pics I didn't post here yet too too.

I, Augustus b'Raass, vow on the honour of the Imperial Fists and Dorn to paint and present one Razorback, one Attck Bike and one five-man Tactical Squad with Lascannon on or before the 15th of December, 2015. I promise to provide at least one WIP update and one finished picture of each unit, in that time. I vow to bring honour to Dorn and the Emperor by completing my vow and not failing my brothers-in-arms.

So here's the (boring) WIP pic of the razorback

Also, I'm vowing the second attack bike. I opted for a MkIII helmet on the driver and a MkIV head on the gunner, to make things look a little more interesting than usual.

The tact squad was posted here before, so I'll leave those out. Thanks for looking! :smile.:

@SkimaskMohawk: Maelstrom twister? Whaddayamean? Í find Eternal War missions soooo boring (it's basically what I've been playing for 17+ years) and love the maelstrom missions. Also: you mean diagonally compared to the playing lines right? I'll try that out, though it's not like I purposefully did the tarrain to be straight along the lines. I usually set up terrain first, then roll for playing direction (as in 1-2: | , 2-4: -- , 5: / , and 6: \ )

@Knight of the Raven: Haha most likely I'm worse.

@Teetengee: Page number? Also: watch your mail box in the coming days.

Love the gaming pic! Especially the great wall of Rhino STC.

It looks awesome and it makes the Iron Warrior in me envious of the new SM formations. Something about having two demi companies enables you to have free dedicated transports. I'd love to copy Angel Exterminatus where the IW rhinos could form up together for defenses. It would be like having a mobile aegis line but waaaaay cooler.

@hushrong: well I played against my buddy who plays Iron Warriors, but uses the loyal SM codex. Problem solved!

@TDF: I'm happy you finally commented buddy. Also: Nikolowz Leofstan is an awesome name, and I love that you wrote and PMd me some fluff for him. Thanks! :smile.::thumbsup:

@MikhalLeNoir: Mir Nakhtmahr guns everyone down. He's the guy in the MkIV helm in my last update. :smile.: Any fluff for him?

@Kingth of the Raven: Painting tanks without an airbrush is torture, so yes, you're thoughts are correct.

Pg 167 and 171 say that outflank moves on just as described for reserves, just from a different board edge.

Pg 136 says that moving on from reserves is just like moving if your model were just off the board to start.

Pg 18 says that you can't move within 1" of an enemy model unless charging in the Assault phase, and cannot move or pivot through another model.

Thus the only restriction is you can't enter within 1" as that would be moving within 1". (And it won't apply to units like jump infantry that are moving over, as detailed in their unit type rules).

Hopefully that helps.

Also, I will do so, thanks!
