Augustus b'Raass
Cheers, guys!Had my first game ofg Zone Mortalis Necromunda today, against my buddy Willem's Genestealer cult. 't Was an awesome game! The highlight was my Chem Thrower ganger first failing her Chem Synth check, but then proceed to gas both his flamer Ganger and his Leader, and making both toxin rolls anyway despite both of them having a respirator, then rolling a skull for both of them, AND then rolling 66 for both of them - meaning both were D. E. D. dead. Ouch. I also captured one of his Abberants and let it go on the condition that he leave his power pick. And hey-ho guess what my new new Champion will now be armed with, besides her Shotgun? Also, I finished the build of the Khimerix, Daisy. I'll try and paint her tomorrow. I need to, because I just paid the credits for her, and she's now officially a part of my gang! Hurray! Let me know what you think. Replies: @ helterskelter: Cheers! What do you think of Daisy? @ Hungry Nostraman Lizard: Well, it's not the most expensive MDF Zone Mortalis wall set, but believe you me that I spent a LOT of cash to get it to this state. It's not just the walls, it's also the Molotow markers, the resin doors and wall consoles, and boy does MDF soak up paint. Even after spraying it with thinned wood glue, it still soaked up three bottles of GW Spray Paint. So I wouldn't exactly call it cheap. Cheap would be not to buy the walls at all and just use the ZM boards with the imaginary walls. hushrong
Always fun to start a game where your own dice want to see your hurt! The pic of the game looks great and future battle reports would be fantastic with painted minis and terrain. Looking forward to seeing how you paint Daisy up. And it seems you are putting the spoils of battle to good use already.
Augustus b'Raass
Au contraire, mon cheri, everything turned out Milhouse for this game. Killing two of the biggest threats with one shot is pretty much perfect. And the cool thing was that that same chem thrower ganger had been shot in the face by a heavy stubber the turn before. It failed to wound. She stood up and made that counter shot. Best moment. hushrong 1 Back to top
hushrong
There I go not knowing how to ready the only language I know fluently again. I totally skimmed that and misread thinking the chem thrower blew up and took the leader with her. My bad because that young lady is building up some serious street cred! Atia
Awesome work on your Zone Mortalis buddy! It looks great and really let's me rethink your invitation to a game night haha. Well I'm still too shy ... but ... you are almost there haha. Lol Augustus b'Raass 1 Back to top
teku
HE'S ALIVE! Congratz on the house!! Like the idea of the boxes I'll maybe steal that ;). How did the battles at Gibraltar go? Awesome Zone Mortalis! Seems awesome to play on! (Laser cutting mine at the moment)
Castigator
Oh man, and here was me thinking that no one was bothering with 'Munda because the Necromunda section was so quiet....I never thought to look in the WIP section. Great work and thank you for sharing your progress......and it's good to see another Escher gang making their mark in the Underhive Augustus b'Raass 1 Back to top
Augustus b'Raass
Daisy is finished! Here's my Escher Khimerix - what happens when a Gorilla, a Tiger, and the Predator have a threesome. I hope you like! I'm sure my gang's opponents don't! :DLemme know, interested to hear your opinions on the colour scheme. Replies! @ hushrong: haha no worries. That lady actually already has three advancements. Sadly, it's +1 move (handy for sure) but also +1 Leadership and +1 Intelligence... Less functional. Although the intelligence boost does make it easier for her to make her chem synth test, which makes her chem thrower more effective! @ Aita: Maybe Daisy will finally get you to come over? @ teku: Gibraltar is a long ways away still! It's at the end of September. I'm now in a whatsapp group with all members, and they're continually sharing their work. And it puts me to shame. Seriously, it's like you're in a group with 'Eavy Metal painters who dish out armies in a couple weeks.... :O @ Castigator: hey buddy! Long time no see here! Yeah I'm nut much for opening multiple threads and keeping track of every one. I'll just keep this one. :) Hungry Nostraman Lizard, Kizzdougs, Eldrick Shadowblade and 13 others 16 Back to top
hushrong
Daisy is perfect! The added limbs you modeled look even better with paint blending all the work together. I am also thinking a xenomorph snuck in there and made it a foursome looking at that tail! Regardless of lineage I am looking forward to battle reports of her ripping opponents apart. Lady Chem has already established herself then! Need to think of an Escher term for "made man" as she sounds like she has quite the history of being a killer. Know that I'll be rooting for her in the streets!

Castigator
@ Castigator: hey buddy! Long time no see here! Yeah I'm nut much for opening multiple threads and keeping track of every one. I'll just keep this one. Yeah, I've pretty much written off 40k under 8th edition (I was close to being lured back in when they released the new Chaos Marines but the bloatware put me off)....fortunately Necromunda has kept me entertained for the last 18 months and shown me that GW can still make a game that's interesting and fun. Loving the Khimaerax, I thought about using the same model myself, but dismissed it because I thought I'd only use the head. It never occurred to me to make use of the body as well and embrace the Gene-splicing origins of their background.....I might have to steal this idea now Your colour scheme is spot on and I really like the colour variation on the fur, she looks wonderfully predatory and is sure to intimidate the Pixies' rivals. Great work!
Augustus b'Raass
BIG UPDATE I finished the last five unpainted non-hangers-on members of my gang today! Let me introduce you: Villa Alegri, Champion of the Pantera PixiesVilla joined the Pantera Pixies after the scandalous shooting of the gang's oldest Champion Anuk Ra by House Orlock's Bo Duke. She quickly proved her worth, singlehandedly subdueing and ransoming an Abberant from a Genestealer cult, from which she kept its Power Pick as a memento. (No advancements yet!) Hela Xon, gangerOne of the longest serving members of the Pantera Pixies, Hela Xon has developed herself into multiple areas, offering a versatile arrangement of skills and tactics to the Pantera Pixies. She has shielded the melee specialists in the gang from enemy fire with expertly thrown smoke screens, and picked off Goliath brutes with her trusty lasgun long enough for them to be shot to pieces by the heavier armed members of the gang. (+1 Intelligence, +1 Ballistic Skill) Aganta Phyrr, ganger A long range threat to all but the most sneaky opponents, Agata specializes in pinning enemies at long range. She does this while casually smoking her signature cigar, all the while popping off frag grenades amongst the enemy advance. She's earned a reputation as being one of the hardest members to hurt in the entire gang. (+1 Toughness) Mr. Snuggles, Phyrr Cat Gang Leader "Mad" Deana Kholeric's trusted Phyrr Cat Mr. Snuggles provides trusted combat support during engagements, while boosting the gang's earnings by serving in the Pantera Pixies "Cuddle Parlor" - where underhivers can enjoy some alone time with the Phyrr Cats - clients that survived report that their reflexes and survival instincts have heightened after a visit to the Cuddle Parlor! Ms. PurrThe newest addition to the gang and the Parlor, Ms. Purr is still cranky from being relocated. Therefore, there's not much to be said about her true character. but if a recent bout with a neighbouring Delaque ganger gives any indication, it's less than cheerful. Full gang here: That's it! Now I only have to paint my gang's Slopper Lyza and their Rogue Doc Dr. Lyna Haezzar... Cheers!Repies: @ hushrong: How's about 'Good Girl' as the feminine of 'Made Man'? @ Atia: How's about the rest of the girls? @ Castigator: I see what you mean. I did the tournament scene with 8th for a while, and must say it's intense. More fun and diversified, but also intenser because of it. Glad you like Daisy! Ranulf
Awesome work Augustus, the Khimerix turned out really well. Augustus b'Raass
Finally managed to paint my Escher Gang's hangers-on; a Slopper named Lyza and a Rogue Doc named Dr. HaezzarLyza Dr. Haezzar And finally, I painted a champion that will join my ranks when I reach a reputation level of 20... Furia Yax I hope you like them! Comments more than welcome. CheersReplies: @ Bjorn Firewalker: Cheers, mate. Glad you like them. @ guardian31: here they are! @ Lord Ranulf: That sounds like good fun. I'm done with my Escher for the moment, so I might join with my upcoming Goliath gang... @ Castigator: Thank you so much! Coming from a flamboyant painter and converter such as yourself, that is high praise! @ KingKurama: Hey buddy! It has been sooooo long! Good to see you back on the board! KrautScientist
Whoa, buddy, you are on a freaking roll with that Escher gang! I hardly know where to start! the gang itself is looking rather wonderful! I love the amount of strong colours on display, and the added critters and hangers-on add a huge amount of character! My favourite part has to be how the doctor still wears animal print, because Escher. Brilliant work! What really blew me away, however, was the terrain, especially the close ups of the various wall sections, bulkheads, etc. Like, I don't even... Beautiful stuff! great to see your new laboratory -- I actually had to smile at seeing those labeled boxes, remembering you super-streamlined working process with nary a wasted movement that I got to witness when you showed me how to properly apply decals and when you magnetised my WE Contemptor! :) This wouldn't be one of my comments, however, if I didn't find something to nitpick about, so here goes: I thoroughly dislike the practive of painting model names onto the base rims (mostly because it kinda destroys the rims role as a transitory space that takes you from the in-universe game world and our world, a kind of "palate cleanser", if you will), but even moving beyond my personal taste, I think you haven't done a particularly good job of it: I get how you were probably going for a rough, brushed-on graffitti look, but it actually looks like somebody with far less talent and brush control painted those names. Maybe that element could use a few tweaks? In any case, keep up the brilliant work, buddy! :) Augustus b'Raass 1 Back to top
