Soulhunter1995
Well I haven`t had chance these past few weeks to keep up-to-date on your thread Auggie but holy moly, I have missed some awesome stuff although I echo Razblood in his comment of almost backing out of the ETL Keep up the good work good sir
Hydra Dominatus
Man those are some epic blight haulers and it's cool how you manage to make even the most monopose model look unique. Btw your first claw still looks better.

Augustus b'Raass
Hi guys! I came back from my trip to London on Tuesday, but only found time to paint on Fridaymorning - so I've only finished one of the Myphitic Blight Haulers. Still, the trip was totally worth it - and seeing the prepremiére with cast and crew of Star Wars: SOLO was fricking epic. I won't spoiler it in any way, but GO SEE IT! I promise you it's worth your while. Anyway, here's pictures of the first of the trilobe: And that's it! I hope you like it! He was fun to paint. Funnily enough, it was hard to glue it together after paint - because of the build, there's a lot of strain on the frontal canopy to go forward, so I had a lot of trouble gluing this thing together after painting. I'll need to use a lot more rubber elastic bands for the other two, as those are even more converted than this rather original guy - who has almost no structural changes. Cheers!Replies: @ hushrong: Thanks! And I have! @ KrautScientist: It doesn't suck - at all! I hope you had fun with it! @ Maarten: YES! Let's make it so! @ Eldrick Shdowblade: Turs out, he just paitned it - it was his client who didn't divulge the source. @ DuskRaider: Nah, I have too little time to paint these days. Two years ago, sure. But with this job and a relationship, no way! @ Krakendoomcool: Yeah, unfortunately I could have done a better job on the hiding of the pock marks. You'l see what I mean when I finish painting the other two. Three lenses is also a rather nice idea. I am toying with the idea of making another DP with three small heads, each with one eye... @ The Traitor: hotdamn. You're totally on point with that reference! I editted the post accordingly with this: Hidden Content Hidden Content @ rednekkboss: One? You need three. THREE! @ Subtle Discord: STOP PROCRASTINATING AND MAKE US WONDERFUL THINGS TO THROW MONEY AT, YOU MAD GENIUS YOU! (did that help?) @ Vairocanum: Thank you! I used a circle saw dremel tool to make the cuts, then used a cigarette lighter to heat up the plastic, and then a pair of pliers to bend them to my will. @ Razblood: Well if you quit the ETL, YOU WILL DISGUST ME! @ Soulhunter1995: Don't quit, I wll hold it against you @ Hydra Dominatus: Thanks! @ malcharion: Cheers, buddy! BTW you seriously need to do something about your avatar.... RE: the whole First Claw copycat thang: They PM'd me and promised to change the post, and to delete their video's. Here's their reply: Hidden Content Alright, it's getting near the end of Tuesday! I'm both excited and anxious to hear from you... TUES 21:23 Sir, we understand that this is a personal matter for you and your anxious . We do not fully agree with your claims as any IP wasn't breached as we are not producting miniatures in many copies but work on commissioned based orders. However after further checking we in fact have based our work mostly on photos of your project not knowing about it. To explain in better there was also artwork involved which is a close representation of how you envisioned your miniatures. First Claw sadly doesn't have a lot of good artwork. We will state that fact on all our forum posts and delete any other social media publications. We think it's fair as in your opinion we have a lot to gain by it. Kind regards, Michal Ruminski DOI Founder Michiel Hi! Thanks for getting back to me on this issue. To be clear: I don't think this is an issue of Intellectual Property. I think it is one of civility between hobbyists in a community. This is not about my losing money or anything. In fact, I'm honoured that someone found my interpretation of First Claw so cool that they decided to copy it almost exactly. So please uderstand that I do believe you when you say that the miniatures were given to you as a commission, and I accept that you didn't know about my creation. Our community is relatively small, the Night Lords community a subset of those, and my work is only really well-known within the circles of the Bolter&Chainsword forum. That being said, I do think your client should have told you about their work being based on mine. As I said: we should all give credit where credit is due. I'm glad you agree with me on this! If I understand it correctly, you will state on the forum and any other publications that the work is based on my creation. Is that correct?Thank you and have a great day,Michiel WED 10:22 Hello, we do agree that your conversions are really great. We did erase some of the publications and on the rest we did wrote info on what we based the models on. Wish you all the best! Tom Type a message... So I'm happy! KrautScientist
Well, that sounds like a great solution to the whole First Claw affair -- to be honest, though, any other reaction would have looked like them shooting themselves in the foot, wouldn't it? ;) The Blighthauler is looking fantastic -- the inflamed flesh is truly something to behold! I hate to be that guy, buddy, but a closer look at the melta barrels makes it look as though both halves might be ever so slightly misaligned -- probably something to watch out for while completing the next two models. And is that one of Peer's hairs on the spiked halo above the melta? ;) Couldn't agree more about Solo -- what fun that was! Even though I didn't watch it in London, just in my own neck of the woods ;)
Augustus b'Raass
I hate my cat. As soon as I drop a part, it's covered in shed winter coat. I see what you mean about the multimelta - unfortunately I can't change anything about it anymore... :( Glad you liked SW:Solo!
hushrong
Glad you made it back and the trip was great! The hauler also looks great! I love that big red icon right on the front plate.
KrautScientist
I see what you mean about the multimelta - unfortunately I can't change anything about it anymore... In all fairness, it's probably only noticeable on pictures that blow up the model's size by about 300%, so you should be fine ;) Still, it miht be something to keep an eye on while painting the other two. malcharion
@ malcharion: Cheers, buddy! BTW you seriously need to do something about your avatar.... Done Also glade you get to resolve this copy issue with DOI and that you get credit for your work. I've been there myself sometime and It's alway unpleasant to see your work elsewhere without the due credit even if it is somehow flattering. As always cool paintjob on this first big bug ;) Malchy
Augustus b'Raass
On a roll now. Here's the second Blight Hauler: No cat hairs this time! ;) I'll try and finish the last one tomorrow morning!Cheers!Replies: @ hushrong: Haha that big red icon is standard issue on the kit! lol @ KrautScientist: I just checked and they're all slightly out of line - but it's by such a tiny amount, it's actually barely noticable on the miniatures. The pictures are 4x bigger than RL. :tu: @ malcharion: HURRAY! Malchy has an avatar! Look at you all fancy! And yes, I'm glad it worked out too :) Grotsmasha, malcharion, Checkmate and 3 others 6 Back to top
hushrong
Yeah, but it looks great in red! :D I’ve been liking your use of red with the Death Guard! New brain buggy is also looking sharp!
Panzer
Anyway, here's pictures of the first of the trilobe: Alright I just have to say it. I immediately thought "Robocop" there. :D(Probably because I'm currently on a Shadowrun trip again and read some Robocop comics to satisfy my Cyberpunk cravings :P ) Edited May 26, 2018 by sfPanzer
Verux
Somehow the last one reminds me Krang from the TMNT cartoons. Anyways... these two look awesome. Edited May 26, 2018 by Verux
Augustus b'Raass
The third one's washes are drying, so I decided to finish building the Blight Launcher Plague Marine squad I vowed for the ETL... Sergeant (the astute observer will notice that this guy's body is the DI Malignant Plaguecaster's body ): Vexilarius: Specialist: Marine (this guy is another attempt at using the standard DI bolter plague marine's body and turn it into a miniature that one wouldn't immediately recognize as having that base miniature - I'm pretty happy with the result, myself. What do you think?): Specialist: I hope you like them!Cheers!Replies:@ sfPanzer: haha I was going for RoboCop Now be a lamb and put those quoted pictures between hidden brackets (or delete them from the comment) - nobody needs to see all those pictures twice. (sorry - pet peeve AND needless quoting is against forum guidelines) @ Verux: Cheers! Maarten
As always a great use of bits on these guys. I especially love the second the last guy, looking into the distance with his single visor hole. The only nitpicky point of improvement I have is that the last guy would look better if his right arm was a little more straight. His pose right now feels slightly unnatural. Not quite sweeping it up to fire at an enemy and not quite straight enough to be natural.
Augustus b'Raass
Thanks, Maarten! Not sure what you mean y the pose, though - he's supposed to be dragging the bulk of the blight launcher, not quite sweeping it up or pointing it at the enemy. Those things are heavy!I finished the third and final Myphitic Blight Hauler just now! Hurray! I hope you like! Comments and feedback most welcome! Likes are appreciated, but they don't keep this thread going - there's a reason we're on here, and not on facebook or instagram! ;) Cheers! DuskRaider
I'm gone for one day and you complete it all... the Blight-Haulers turned out fantastic and it's hard to pick a favorite but I'd probably say the one with the meat swelling out of the damage hull. The assembled Plague Marines are looking good, not sure how I feel about the converted Blight Launcher however. Great use of the Beastman banner, though! The Traitor
I know you hear this a lot, but the speed at which you pull this out is almost unnatural, I´m sure you made some kind of foul deal with the chaos gods to give you painting speed. And the plague marine squad looks great, I really like the "butcher´s cleaver" on the chmapion!
Sagentus
Dam aug! All 3 of them look epic! You have made them all look individual and the painting is just the icing on the cake. Looking forward to seeing how the next lot of PM squad come on
rednekkboss
I spoke with him last night and Grandfather Nurgle is pleased with you offerings. The extra dents/pock marks in the armor. Are you doing those with a dremel or something else? They really look great and add to the models. Great stuff!

Augustus b'Raass
Cheers, everyone. I thought I'd make some group shots of the Trilobe of Myphitic Blight Haulers :) I hope you like them! I do admit that I thought I'd enjoy painting them more than I did, but in the end they've quite grown on me - they're so cuddly and cute. Cheers! Replies: @ Verux: Cheers! I hope you like them as a triolbe as well :) @ DuskRaider: Thanks, buddy! The meat swelling was supposed to be brain, but I think I blew it on the sculpting, and should have gone for a more greyish purple hue of the brain tissue for that to have worked, shouldn't I have? In any case, could you tell me what's so disagreeable about the converted Blight Launcher? I'm open to suggestions! @ The Traitor: I paid the price for the speed, don't worry. ;) Thanks also on the buthcer cleaver - it's quite a simple, yet effective conversion to do :tu: @ Sagentus: Cheers! I do admit I started the two Apothecaries first. @ rednekkboss: Thanks, buddy! I hope you put in a good word with Papa g'Aap. The dents are indeed done with a dremel. Simple, easy, effective Nurglification! @ Hungry Nostraman Lizard: 'Tis too! ;) KrautScientist, Panzer, Kurgan the Lurker and 4 others 7 Back to top
DuskRaider
I assumed it was brain tissue and technically that IS meat (just ask my Plague Zombies). As far as the Launcher... it just still says "I'm a Heavy Bolter" to me. I'm not really sure how you could make it better... maybe something more like the Grenade Launchers from the Destroyer kit? I don't know, I ran into the same issue.
Augustus b'Raass
LoL when you consider the brain as your think-muscle, then yeah - brain tissue is meat. ;)
