Great work on that chaplain
Let's hope GW will continue with that style for the next Indomitus kit (love the cables on the front and the slightly chaotic trim!).

Thanks for the comments, guys and gals
Here's some pictures of the WiP Cataphractii I'll be working on now (still waiting on the rivets for the biker command squad).
Please note that the upper pauldrons are blutacked on, and I didn't include the helmets because I'll leave those on the sprue - which makes them much easier to paint. Also, three of them do not have their pteruges glued on for the same reasons.
All arms are magnetized, btw - so I have a lot of freedom in posing these guys
II Cataphractii Terminator Assault Squad
Veteran Sergeant - Chog'an Shan - deathspectresgt7
Battle Brother - Orlin Einhart - Guardian31
Battle Brother - Alric Brandt - Viarocanum
Battle Brother - Brodus Amn - Olis
Battle Brother - Ardus Boltula, Count of the Fistalvania Mountains - DuskRaider
Thanks for looking and your comments (incidentally, you'll notice that four of these terminators still have no names, hunch hunch, wink wink).
I'm looking forward to painting these guys!
Cheers
Replies!
@ Nemac Vradon: Thanks, buddy! I was thoroughly impressed with your iteration of first claw!
@ hushrong: You can get them for relatively cheaps on the recast market, mate. Good on you for buying the GS rollers - I'm looking forward to the stuff you create with them
@ Race Bannon: Thanks, buddy! Your wish is my command. I'll have to think of a story for him, but I already have some ideas for that. As soon as I flesh it out, I'll post it here, with some more pictures.
@ The Traitor: He is, isn't he? Absolutely fabulous miniature.
@ guardian31: They'll be getting paint this week
@ Atia: Do you know of any rumours that suggest they'll be redoing the Indomitus Terminators?

The LC terminators look really nice. They need more fists an/or chains and crosses though.
Do you paint over the basing material or is your brush control so great that you can put it on first? BTW is the recipe similar to the one you used for the trench mud?
[Nitpick]The look suspiciously like Cataphractii pattern TDA, not Indomitus [/Nitpick]

Whoopsie, I guess I copied the wrong terminator header from the list.
About the basing material I use - it's the exact same as the grey stuff I used before, Vallejo Sandy Paste. The store just didn't have it in grey anymore, so I figured since I just paint over it anyway, who cares what the colour is - so I bought the red stuff. I did also mix it with Chinchilla sand I got for cheaps from the pet store, though, for some extra texture.
Nowadays I do put the plastic figure on the basing material (as opposed to after I finished paining it, like I did before) because I don't really care if I spill a little brown paint on the miniature when I paint the base - I consider it mud splatter! It saves a little bit of time, which is always a pre when it comes to miniature painting.

Warhammer 40,000+ Star Wars- Rian Johnson- Reylo= AWESOME! (Knights of Renaissance)
Reasons to use the Steel Crusaders ('Codex: Space Marines' supplement) or the Iron-hearted Angels ('Codex: Blood Angels' supplement): Because you think giving Sternguard Veterans a heavy bolter wtih special issue HEAVY BOLTER ammunition is ALMOST as much fun as shoehorning an Earthshaker cannon into a Land Raider.

Awesome looking squad, definitely looking forward to seeing them painted! Could I name the third guy (with tabard glued on) Aldric Brandt? Also I learned about the term pteruges for the first time !

Lightning claw Cataphractii are looking super bad-ass already, can't wait to see them painted!

Nice job with the Chaplain. I'll have to say that I'm not much of a fan of the model itself, but you made it look good anyway so thumbs up mate!
The Cataphractii looks promising, going for an all yellow look, or will you break them up with some black?

That chaplain looks ACE! I like the way it is subtle, but you can tell its Imp Fists even with so much black armor. Top job as always, looking forward to your LC termi's

Thanks, guys!
Work continues on the Cataphractii terminators. There's still two without names! Who takes them?
WiP pic of the terminators...
Thanks for looking - and for the names you'll undoubtedly come up with!
Replies!
@ Björn Firewalker: THanks, buddy!
@ Viarocanum: Sure! His name is recorded in the annals!
@ Bob Hunk: I like your name! Ha!
@ MrBear: Eh, you can't have it all. Glad you still like him, though, buddy! I'll be braking the yellow with some black panels, yes.
@ Sagentus: Cheers! Actually the only thing that says 'Imperial Fist' is the two yellow armour panels on his left shoulder pad!

Wow, that was fast! Thanks, guys! And welcome to the thunderdome (also known as the Phallanx )!!
@ DuskRaider: Cool name! However one cannot by definition be a Count and a Baron at the same time (a practice which unlike naming will most likely remain in the next 30 centuries) - so he'll be a count, alright? I also gave him the first name Ardus
@ Olis: Taste good, no? Brodus Amn stands!
@ guardian31: No double post - in fact now I have something to link to. Thanks buddy!

Tastes like mustard and loyalty.
(Take care with Brodus. He's a little vindictive.)

I'd say go with Lentrim Nihilak. Don't do Count Boltula. He's not a blood sucking Son of Sanguinius.

Thanks, guys! Incidentally, I still need one name for the Grav Cannon Devastator Weapon Specialist in the previous squad. Once his name is filled, I can start writing some fluff for those bastards!
@ Olis: Blegh, that sounds disgusting, actually. Don't forget this thread also has a very prominent Night Lords flavouring, and it served with a sauce of KDK. Brodus' nature is noted, I'll take that into account when writing his fluff!
@ DuskRaider: Too late! Once you're in the annals, you're in the annals! I didn't notice the relation, so I don't care but to remove a bit of the newfangled (get it??? ) Vampire veneer off him, I'll change his title to Baronet. Also, Lentrim Nihilak is now a Vexilarius in the latest Devastator Squad - and if someone pics up the last guy in that squad, I'll write some cool fluff for him too. He will be bloodthirsty
@ Race Bannon: Haha take it!

I look forward to seeing the next lot

Guys, I need some feedback. I'm painting the Cataphractii. I'm using them for the Imperial Fists chapter, not the Legion, so they will be First COmpany and so will have white helmets. I also decided that these five with the lightning claws will be predominantly yellow with black details (so the colour scheme on the left, and that the Cataphractii with Storm Shield and Thunder Hammers (which is illegal in 40k, so I'll be running them as INdomitus Patterns) will be the opposite, so predominantly black with yellow details (so the colour scheme on the right).
However, I put on most of the base colours on the first one, and I'm just not feeling it. Something is off and I don't know what.
Of course, his helmet still needs gold trim, all gold is still to be washed with Agrax and highlighted with a lighter gold/mithrill mix, all the metal will be wahsed with Nuln Oil, and all details still need doing, but the idea is there. Still, I'm a little weirded out by the colours right now and I can't explain why.
Perhaps the trim of the outer shoulder pads should be black as well? What do you think? Or should I just go ahead and finish this single dude and see where that gets me?
I'd appreciate your feedback!
Replies:
@ Sagentus: Ah right! Well perfect. Actually it's only the one shoulder pad that has yellow (it has two panels) - so I'm glad you read him as a Fist of Dorn!
@ marcusc: Nope, no names on their bases, unfortunately. I'm crazy, but not that crazy.

I agree, I think the gold and the yellow are to close in color, but this might change once you have applied washes. Once washes applied it should break up the color a bit more.

Hi Augustus b'Raass.
I see the XV Devastators need naming, here's one for the Sergeant:
