I guess I was hoping for something closer to "magic", because that's what I'll need to help me pull it off

No dude, you don't. You can totally pull it off. It's just plastic plus some basic tools and skills. Learn to handle a dremel tool and scraping with a stanley knife. Practice a couple times on some piece of sprue or an old miniature. With a bit of practice, you'll find that you get an intrinsic understanding of how much pressure you need and how plastic responds to the tools. Soon you'll have the confidence to pull it off. It's not difficult if you apply yourself and have patience.
Yet again, your dedication, creativity and work has inspired other people
Hmm. I could butcher the chest then glue on a brass piece with the Chapter sigil! Sorry, enough threadjack, I should post on my own plog ...

@ Vairocanum: Really? It's my least fave. I'm thinking of giving him a very grimdark background. If you want to name him, you're welcome to it!
I just like librarians that focus on wielding their weapons instead of actively shooting out psychic powers. I think I prefer librarians that are augmenting their original abilities through being lightning or flame clad (so sort of like a passive skill). I'd like to name him Ingolf Geirr, looking forward to reading the background for all the librarians!
So after making those four librarians, I had a very interesting and appealing bit left: the left hand that's holding the book. Also, I realized I didn't have any force axe wielders on foot. Yet. Because then I realized: "wait a minute, I'm currently working on a force axe wielder - which also doesn't have a set left hand! So this guy was born:
Even better than the clenched hand, don't you think?
Replies!
@ Race Bannon: dude, you couldn't give me a better compliment. Thanks you! And good luck with the scraping and dremeling. Also: would you like to name any of the librarians?
@ Vairocanum: Ingolf Geirr will be the next one on the painting list, then! He's been added to the record!

Wow love all the Librarians your churning out. The conversions on the other page are all great, and good to see those old metal models getting some attention.
I've never been a fan of magic/psychic users holding an open book outwards, never really made sense to me, but that's just me being picky.
Cheers, Hydra! I guess he's showing the book to let you know "I'm right, see? It's written right here!"
Anyway, I finished the fifth librarian
Codicier - Conam Kron ~ 'the Cleric'
A devout student of the Imperial Faith, Codicier Kron has been known to pray to the Emperor, to ask Him to forgive the souls of fallen heretics he has just assisted in delivering His justice. For this purpose, he always brings a large, leatherbound copy of the Lectitio Divinatus. His strict code has gotten him at odds with the Chapter's Chief Librarian, who frowns upon his dual studies, and often forces him to make up for lost time in the CHapter's Librarius. It is this devotion and strict adherence to scripture that has earned Codicier Kron the moniker of 'Cleric'. Although he does not respond to the moniker when addressed as such, secretly Codicier Kron takes pride in it, for he sees it as a confirmation of his true path.
And here he is with his four brothers from the Chapter's Librarius.

How do you churn out this quality at such speed. It is quite incredible. Love all the kit bashing. Everything just looks right. Sorely tempted by some fists for 8th...
Kron looks great, cool fluff too! Your paint job definitely does the model justice, and seeing the classic models with more modern models is also cool!
Work has begun on Codicier Ingolf Geirr, named byVairocanum. At first, this was my least favourite of the four libbies I converted. But Vairocanum giving him a name, and this cascaded into my thinking about his character - which I always base on how he looks. in other words, inspiration struck, and today will be the day Geirr will get painted.
But first, a bike ride in the beautiful Amsterdam weather, to get a cup of coffee with a friend
Hope you like!

@ angel robertson: Thanks, buddy. I posted a guide on how to increase your hobby speed here, since you asked.
@ Vairocanum: They do survive the test of time, don't they? Still looking cool, despite their smaller size.
@ Mechanist: A whole chapter? Don't exaggerate! In the end it will only be ten librarians.

II am honored you asked
If the Deathwatch dude is not named, then Debor Varis
"Fully dressed in the ancestral Terminator Armour of their Chapter they rise to a new level of battlefield supremacy, a level where monstrous tanks are but playthings of a child, and where Terminators, Daemons and gods stalk as equals." -Thunder and Lightning, White Dwarf 116 (UK) Index Astartes: Red Shoulders+ Proudly lead farming since 8th edition + Ferum Caelum - A Raven Guard One-shot
Born on a desolate planet in the Vagon Cluster, brother Varis was recruited as an Imperial Initiate at the young age of eight standard years. He was found on his world by Epistolary Kho, who saw the boy sitting cross-legged in the middle of the central square of a village, the entire town burning around him. When questioned, he merely murmered short phrases that spoke of vengeance for his murdered parents. His mind was catatonic, but his body proved strong and lean. Taken back to the Phallanx, he was tested and after extensive psycho-interrogations and found suitable for initiation. Geneseed zygotes and black carapace introductions proved successful, but the youth appeared extraordinarily resistant to psycho-indoctrination. Vengeful and aggressive by nature, it soon became apparent that initiate Varis had Psychic potency, particularly in the fulmination discipline. Upon completing his initiation, brother Varis was immediately claimed by the Chapter's Librarius. His aggressiveness has made him a specialist in close-assault support and boarding actions, where he is known to down entire lines of enemies with bolts of lightning arching out of his eyes and mouth. His brother Astartes regard him with a weary sense of respect, for even they have come to be mindful of the young Lexicanium's wrath.
I hope you like it, Race
If anyone wants to name the already-painted librarian that is based on the BaC Chaplain, please feel free. Otherwise, I have three unpainted ones waiting for names:

You are sick..., in a glorious kind of way! And I thought I had a thing with librarians. Congratulations, you are 2 libies ahead of me. Must paint more, lol.
Having seen the new librarians I decided to go ahead with my fourth one, a light conversion of the space hulk terminator librarian.
Paint on!
Mitsman
EDIT: Actually the score is 6-3 and soon I will lose count after seeing the new ones hidden in the spoiler... AAAAAA!
Brother Geirr has been part of the Imperial Fists Librarius for longer than even its Chief Librarian, but has never been promoted beyond the rank of Codicier. Little is known about his origins, as Brother Geirr is a secretive man, communicating only the bare essentials. He prefers to keep to himself, only conversing with the highest ranking Librarians after daily Mass services. On rare occasions, he inquires about the progress in his peers' studies, but never divulges his own. Besides mandatory battle training, he is known to spend all of his time alone in the Librarius' and Chapter's Libraries. In battle, he has been known to summon spirits and Warp-spawned beings, which have been witnessed to disrupt the enemy's ranks and harass enemy support lines. When engaged in melee, Brother Geirr erupts into a whirlwind of violence, his Force Glaive cutting in half all who stand against him.
I hope you like him, Vairocanum, and especially the fluff I've written for him I thank you for the name and your expression of fondness for him - as it opened my mind up and inspired me in a way I haven't been before.
Let me know what you think!
Cheers!
@ Mitsman: Well, it's not a competition, mate! I'just glad you like mine, and would love to see yours Where can I find pictures?

I have to say you are an absolute painting and modelling machine! Fantastic work on these librarians and as usual am really looking forward to what you come up with next!
@ deathspectersgt7: that's an awesome name, and he was not taken. Also, he's meant to be my Chief Librarian! Erike Staanisov ~ the Spectre he will be (I've 40K-ified his name a little, I hope you'll approve). Thanks a bunch for that. Naming my dudes remains a prime source of inspiration for me! Any fluff suggestions for him?
@ Kordhal: Cheers, buddy! Next will be four more librarians, plus three chaplains (dammit, it used to be only two, but the I realized I didn't own the cheap one from the GW site, which I've always really liked. So I bought it, thanks to your comment). I know, I'm on a bit of a character catch up. Before, I had only painted about five characters for my Imperial Fists.

Wow your painting speed and quality is amazing as usual! Love the fluff you've given to Ingolf, especially the mysterious aspects that surround him. Having a long history in the librarius and how he keeps to himself makes me think he's hiding his true abilities . Your descriptions of his battlefield capabilities also put a great image in my head, thanks for letting me name him! I always enjoy reading the bits of fluff you write for each model (this time especially ) as it really makes each miniature feel more special, I can't wait to see the rest of the librarians and the chaplains!
Impressive stuff dude! And seriously how the heck do you manage to smash out these quality paint jobs!!
I'm impressed with the conclave, sadly EC don't have Librarians otherwise I'd getting myself some! I have however been inspired to do an Apothecarium as a result of this project of yours!!
