After finally reading through your entire blog, I have to say that this is the one of the most awesome and most amazing armies I have ever seen. I love all the conversion and details that are on all of your models and it has inspired me to to do better on my Blood Guardians and for the Warp Talons that are sitting on my desk. And, with this thread, that I will no longer be painting up the Warp Talons as Sons of Malice, but as Night Lords, with the champion being dedicated to you for all the hard work you have put into your models and for inspiring me to do better on my own miniatures. Keep up the good work!

Woooo actually I think the recent under construction of BnC was good for me, as it forced me to get to work on my own painting and not drool over other people's progress.

 

I tried the blue-yellow scheme, but decided against it. THe yellow just doesn't do it on this model. Here's the orginially decided upon blue-bone colour scheme I'm going for on the titan:

OK guys, there's some updates lost as you all know. Thanks to the admins for fixing everything to the best of their abilities!

 

There's also an update missing from Semper and me about me changing my additional vow. My contemptor has been lost in the mail so I deleted it with Semper's permission. I did add an extra raptor and a raptor lord. I have already changed this in my original vow.

 

Here's the raptor unit I've changed (extra raptor (downward facing arrow) and the raptor lord with chainglaive (upwards facing arrow).

Alright guys and gals, sorry to double post. I promised forte and steve an update as soon as the forum was up and running again. So here it comes: the warhound up till now. All parts have the faded blue and bone stripes painted on. Except for the legs, everything also has gold trimming. There's just that and MANY details to go, including weathering.

Up next: only weathering and blood effects on the titan itself. Maybe I'll give the screens in the cockpit some attention. If all goes well i'll be done tomorrow. My friend is a photography enthusiast and he's offered to make some quality pics of the end result :-)

@ Augustus B'Raass: Sure thing! The suggestions I can remember were...

 

- Excoriator Angelorum (Flayer of Angels or Angeflayer) -- could also be shortened to "Excoriator Angeli", which would be "Flayer of only one angel" ;)

- Animus Terrorem (Soul of Terror) or Terror Anima (Soul Terror) -- although that one was mainly Forte's: I just bitched around re: the grammar ;)

- Conlector Calvae (Skull Collector -- this could basically be changed to a collector of anything you want...)

 

And, in keeping with the Titan Syrgalah's several names in Betrayer, I pointed out that the Titan could have several names as well: One "official" AdMech designation, a (faux Latin) name and any number of fitting epithets.

 

Oh, and one final thing: Even if the Titan should turn out completely terrible, you'll always have my undying respect for painting an entire freaking Dread just to decorate the base -- I could never, ever manage to do that, due to a mixture of laziness and stinginess ;)

But I'm not posting pictures yet as my lightbox is too small and I'm waiting for my friend the photographer to come back from Belgrade, where he's trying to win the European Rowing Championships. He will not fail! 

 

Anyway, I started painting the Cataphractii Termies and the Raptors. I magnetized all arms from the Cataphractii dudes. (I bought them as soon as they came out, as well as the Sons of Horus ones, together with some more arms and shoulder pads from a bits store, which is why I have about 15 sets of arms for 10 guys)

This is actually the first time I'm doing so many models at once. The moment I feel like it's impacting my desired quality, I'll go back to painting per three or so.

Ah cheers Kraut, that helps. I really like the FLayer of Angels, albeit somewhat long. I'll need to ponder the name some more.... I need to watch myself, as the guys over at the Dark Angels Strategium made some (hilarious) stinging comments when I posted pics of their dreadnought being crushed by the titan...

Also really looking forward to seeing more progress on the raptors, I love those. I think I had a post lost in the warp somewhere but I meant to ask how you made the chainglaive on your raptor lord; the blade is a raptor chainsword, right, but where are the arms/haft from..?

Hi Ghost, thanks mate! I can;t wait to post the final pictures actually!

I saw the post and answered it, but it is indeed lost in the warp. No worries; here is the answer to your question regarding the chainglaive. It is indeed made from the chainblade of a raptor. The haft (and two arms holding it) is from the regular Space Wolves kit, it's the Frost Axe. Lastly, the plume is simply a regular csm cc-weapon's plume. Hope this helps!

Ach, I should have recognized the frost axe, I've worked with enough SW pack kits... thanks, though! I'll take a shot at making something similar for my berzerkers if you don't mind me "borrowing" the idea.
