Been revisiting my old Deathguard models as I wanted to see if I could improve upon what I had done before...quite happy with how it has turned out with a few extra weathering layers...let me know what you think??? Still look Deathguard enough??

Thanks guys for all the likes and replies! Really appreciate them...hitting a bit of a hobby wall at the moment. ...just cant settle on anything really. ..im sure we all have those times..

So in the meantime, just been practicing and honing some skills..

 

@Telhdrat..if your still interested in the colour scheme shoot me a pm and will give you the recipie...:-)

Hey guys, thanks again for all the likes and comments! Very appreciated. .

 

Still having a hobby meltdown lol, but might have cracked it with these guys. .

Quick to paint, not to bad for tabletop standard and might actually be able to get a force up so I can actually start gaming again (yay)

@Dss7...haha..I thought works in progress was the place to show off! Or is that hall of honour lol...thanks once again for always taking the time to reply..much appreciated, and a cookie for guessing how the hazard lines get so straight?

 

@knight of the raven...thanks for the reply..hope this next marines eyes creep you out less haha...probably the first time iron warriors have been known to be creepy :-)...thanks again..

 

And another to add...thinking this will be the way to go to get a full tabletop army ready for some massive heresy games!... will wait till the kids have left home (or I retire...whichever comes quicker) to get back to the worldies.

@Knight of the raven....many thanks for the reply..really appreciate you keep popping by :-)...gotta admit I love black eye lenses, always reminds me of those cold lifeless eyes of a great white (pictured below). No wonder they are slightly creepy haha..thanks again for your replies!

 

@Daemonclaw...thanks for replying mate...I agree that the world eaters look better, but these paint up soooooo much quicker! And I wanna get something together to put those word bearers of yours to the test! Im hoping the sight of all those hazard stripes will put you off your game plan haha

 

Talking of hazard stripes! Got a mkiv marine finished off.. I know, you seen one iron warrior you seen em all..but very happy with how these are turning out.

Great looking models you've been putting up lately Chaplain Mortis!  Can I bounce a few questions off of you?

 

What product are you using for the colored backdrops? They look a bit like the ones Hangar 18 produces, but I can't be sure.

 

What is your recipe for the black eye lenses? As KnightoftheRaven puts it, they are creepy-- but in a really imposing, menacing way.

 

Similarly, what is the recipe for your Death Guard white/bone color? 

 

Lastly, what colors are you using for the chipping on models like your death guard?

@the chaplain...many thanks for your great reply...and to answer a few of your questions. ..

 

For the backdrops...Google corvus miniatures cloud backdrops......,

 

For the black eye lenses..I would love to say its really technical but...just paint the lens black, dot some white in the back corner and when you have finished your mini, varnished etc just go over the lens with gloss varnish. .thats it

 

For the chipping I use either vallejo model air cam grey brown or vallejo model color cam black brown...not much difference just whatever I grab first lol

 

Will have to pm you tomorrow with the deathguard scheme when I find my recipe book..need to make sure I get the right one to you :-) ...thanks again mate.

 

Right, another iron warrior finished and got a bit excited as my new paint station turned up today! (I need to get out more haha)
