Iron Hands?

Yes Iron Hands smile.png

With the cogs, bionics and implants I was hoping for a subtle IH reference, with out beeing to much under the nose.

But I see how the robed head might sugest a Dark Angel @Soric but I think I then would have kept the sword instead of replacing it with a Powerfist.

It was the halo that gave it away. ;)

I love the way that almost all of your models have some conversion on them but are so subtle in the way that they are done. They don't scream 'hey look at me I've been converted".

Teach me your ways.

EDIT:

Could you explain how you do your casting or point me in the direction I could find it. Pretty please?

I started doing helmets and bits in similar shapes following this tutorial:

http://s3.zetaboards.com/The_Ammobunker/topic/7503185/1/

But instead of greenstuff I use resin. To get rid of airbubbles I fill the mold halfway and then speeze it together to push the air out. After that I fill in the rest.

To do the tech/zone mortalis bases I follow this tutorial from Rictus:

That is perhaps the best knight I have ever seen. God and those thallax are beautiful with the skulls. I never liked their normal heads and have been trying to come up with a substitute for a while now but you're killing it with those conversions. I need to stop looking at your stuff, my work just looks so poor in comparison! Hahaha

The Knight is simply fantastic! That shoulder mounted cannon works so well, and your Redjak colour scheme really lends itself rather beautifully to the model! The hidden star of the show is the base, however, as it provides exactly the right amount of contrast and pop to completely sell the entire model. Gorgeous work!

I really love that Knight as well! It's a beautiful conversion, to be sure, and the way you have painted the metallic armour really communicates the fact that he no longer belongs to one of the 18 legions, which is quite a neat trick.

Fantastic work all around! smile.png

Amazing work, bro! The Mechanicum Knight is really well done an the armour on the Knight Errant looks excellent! Would it be possible to get a better picture of the Knight Errant? The current images look a bit blurry and it's hard to see the detail of the paint job on the armour :)

Here I tryed to make a better one by using less light. There are still the extreme light reflections on the armor.. the model is very shiny.. so hard to photograph.

Both knights are fantastic. On the knight errant, are the legs grey and shoulder pads knight?

Edit: just looked harder, it's a Garo conversion. Really nicley done.

Yes he is based on the Garo model. I wanted to have the original Sigilite insignia and the iconic Knight Errant shoulders.

actually follow on question as well, where are you sourcing your Ad Mech transfers from smile.png

thanks

Most of them are from the GW Adeptus Mechanicus Mars Skitarii Transfer Sheet. Super awesome is also the old FW Iron Hands Sheet, because it has some very big cog wheels. Sadly the new one is not so good for Ad Mech any more.
