Black Legion Oath-Broken: Khorne Demon Princes 4/15/19

Recommended Posts

Go with the second cover for the Dreadnought. It has a nice bulky and haphazard look to it. Perfect for the Oath-Broken!

Sampson, thanks for the input! I also have a third option I worked on where the hull is more marked up with bullet strafing ill post.

Caradoch is awesome like the chain mail mask :smile.: I quite like both the top is nice and OTT but the second is practical... Sorry no real help there I know XD but the pose is cool who is about to be turned into a pancake of giblets?

Squeaky, the bag of gibblets is an old empire figure that came with a chaos giant. when i get a little cash together I'm gonna order a box or two of cadian martyrs... errr guardsmen.

The latest batch are cool the Brother w/LC's is my favorite. The 2nd cover for the Dread.

Thanks spectre! I still need a backpack for him. But I'm real happy how he turned out too!

thanks, i like the models you built here, really like the bases too.

so painted any of them yet we can see?

My semester is over in two weeks, so I'm gonna buy a set of fresh paints and go at it then. should have a test model up hopefully in a few weeks. I also placed an order with Anvil... I want to really do up the standard bolters with drums and chainsword bayonets.

i still use my old paints with some of the new ones, still have a small stockpile of paints from around 1990

As other as said great start  , great and orignals kitbashes and bases, they have a old-school feel in them. The second sarcophagus looks better in the hellbrute.

Thanks! I'll have a few painted up hopefully sometime by next week. I also like your BA army. They were my very first army when 3rd edition started. Overcharged engines for the win!

Here's the thread for putting a vow in: http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/topic/290387-e-tenebrae-lux-iii-realm-of-chaos-strategium/

As for the sig, save the pic to wherever you upload your pics to, then go into My Settings here on the B&C by clicking on your username up in the top bar. Go into the My Signature tab and copy the link over from wherever the upload is same as you would your model pictures. Voila!

Hey all,

Been busy at work, but I have a few new figures modeled up and ready for feedback. Here is a squad of Havocs using some different parts from ANVIL INDUSTRIES to help them feel a little more hardcore. As I start to explore some of my fluff, I was really interested in a chaos legion fallen on hard times, needing to rely on cybernetics as they have fallen out of favor with the Gods. I still need some backpacks and the heads are just place holders. Let me know what you think!

They could be Fallen Iron Hands or to a demon machine god

Nice choice of the shields and good dynamic poses

I think for the heavies I would go over the top making them as big as possible on the armor parts and add like mechanical parts that would anchor them to the ground or exo-skeletons.

I mean that´s the idea that I have for mine (if I ever built some :))

Just had an idea that came actually from you and your shield

They reminded me of WWII bazookas, protection plate for the shooter.

You could team up your Heavies with a shield CSM each maybe on a common larger base (or with magnets and each could have his individual base).

I´m guessing that when you´re firing such heavy weapons,  you focus your attention on your target and a spotter can be helpful to protect your flanks your @ss and heavies are generally the center of attention of enemies´fire so CSM carrying a shield to protect them makes sense to me in the fluff department too.

If you´re doing fallen cyber CSM I think that having loaders of the heavy guns such as mechanical demons or robot loader could look really cool and add a lot of originality to your army.

Great test mini (and cheers for the heads up too).

Can tell you're using lamps when taking your pics (it drives me nuts when trying to take pics and keep getting those lines across the picture). I've found moving the lamps a little further away helps. Or better (but harder to do thanks to self control), wait till daylight is available.

Painting wise, nice and clean which is always a great thing. And black is one of those colours that a lot of people get frustrated with. Can I recommend looking at where abouts you place your highlights. Take a look at where the light from your lamps hit the model as you hold it at different angles (it's something I keep having to remind myself and avoid the GW "highlight the edges" way if painting which avoids having any direction of light). Examples being top edges and bottom courners of shin armour.

Keep them coming though and you'll see your results get better with each one.
