TearsOfTheRaven Posted October 2, 2014 Author Share Posted October 2, 2014 soooooooooooo after a longish break im back. this time bigger and better than before (growth spurt). reasons for such a long time with no updates: art coursework, german course work and dofe volunteering. but never fear! small amounts of work have been done in the gaps between activities and progress has been made. That includes: signing up for the casual monthly challenge & reading up to the end of Dance in a song of ice and fire. inspired by the actions and depictions of certain characters i decided to add them in to my force. the organisation goes somewhat like this, though not finalised : hq ~(still needing titles (barbaric or civil?)), sub leaders of separate areas~ (line command designation leading talons(tribal markings on some but all with appropriate markings from extermination)). talons: breachers~ civilized and ornate (maybe demi cloaks, regal blue as spot colour (still lacking a group name). terminators~ based off the dornishmen (spear and shield, cloth wrappings etc). recon~ nights watch, all in black (as far as possible), no special markings, seen as a penitent group, formally known as the crows watch. Assault~ no group yet (thinking ironborn (lightning raids etc)). tactical~ no ideas regarding them as of yet. bikes and jet bikes~ khassalrs and khals. thats enough. Elite shooters~ same as tacs. It reduced visibility and rendered heat seeking incoherent. The acrid taste of it was heavy on the tongue, yet another hardship added to the conquest of the plains. A building loomed up out of gloom, sudden in the clouds of swirling particles. Moving up to the entrance, Barristan signaled for the rest of alpha squad to form up to breach. "3..2..1...BREACH!" he called across the vox. spinning round to kick down the door he was caught full in the visor by the answering beam of light. A headless corpse fell to the ground, liquified matter dribbling down the remnants of its chest piece. "1" whispered a voice from the shadows, followed by the sound of a cartridge being ejected, then a soft plink as it rolled into the light. first proper attempt at adding back story to character, any good? TearsOfTheRaven Posted November 10, 2014 Author Share Posted November 10, 2014 *blows dust of thread* im baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack taking part in the march of the legions now, Seeing as all the amazingly talented hobbyists in the thread have written amazing backing stories for their legionnaires, i thought i might do the same. But then i had a (not very) surprise controlled assessment, which involved me writing 10 sides of A4 on the ways professionals adapt their language in a workplace to meet public expectations of their profession. Sounds like fun doesn't it? So after about a week of complete mental burnout, i sat down and had some hobby time one afternoon, the result a built and (not very well painted) alpha legion recon marine. when using the p3 blue ink on top of radiant platinum, i found it resist the paint and beads up, which was a pain in the rear. luckily this didn't happen with gw green washes.
