Space Wolves Kill Team

Hi guys. After a year's break from 40K I really want to get back into the game. I'm thinking of starting small with a 200 point kill team. I'm hoping to build the following force: -

 

1 lone wolf & power weapon 35 points

 

5 grey hunters & 2 meltaguns 85 points

 

5 fenrisian wolves 40 points

 

1 razorback 40 points

 

Please could you let me know if there's anything I should change as I want my kill team to be competitve. I'm not sure about the lone wolf as he uses up 35 points and may not die as easily when facing another small kill team. Thanks very much guys, your help is appreciated.

I like it. I definitely think that the Space Wolves' codex and its ability to bring lone wolves with special gear definitely gives them an advantage in a Kill Team environment. You can easily bring more models to the table than my Blood Angels codex can manage, and without resorting to carapace armored scouts, like I have to.

 

That said, I suck at Kill Team. I managed to do ok with my Tau, but whenever I try to Kill Team with my Blood Angels codex army, I find it hard to bring enough boots. So, possibly I'm not the man to advise you.

You can only get 1 Melta on that 5 man squad. Need 10 Grey Hunters to get the 2nd special. In kill team you also get to pick 3 as specialist and asign them abilities from a list that comes with the kill team rules.

 

Trying kill team with my cousin I ran this:

 

Lone Wolf 65

Bolt Pistol

Storm Shield

Mark of the Wulfen

*Smash

 

Grey Hunters x8 135

Mark of the Wulfen *Fleet

Flamer *Fleshbane

 

Tore up his Chaos Marines with it. I want to try 2 Thunderwolf Cavalry backed by 6 Grey Hunters with a plasma gun sometime. Give the plasma gun Preferred Enemy & 1 TWC Feel No Pain. Not sure on the 3rd ability yet.

 

On your list maybe

 

Lone Wolf 35pnts

Mark of the Wulfen (d6+1 attacks & rending)

 

Grey Hunters x5 125pnts

Plasma Gun

Razorback with Heavy Bolter

 

Fenrisian Wolves x5 40pnts

 

Give Lone Wolf Smash, plasma gun Preferred Enemy & pick a 3rd specialist ability. You can't make a transport a specialist.
