I currently do not own any of the models and I want to plan this out as much as I can. I am going to be building and painting this army with the goal of winning tournaments, both in painting and conversion and in actual game play. I just wanted to know if you had the Codex yet as that will be really essential. Since you're new to the forums, I'll probably let you know that we have WIP forums for painting and conversions where you can show off your stuff and where people will gladly help you out to improve or provide C&C. As for army lists, I would recommend the Blood Angels Army List sub-forum which should have plenty of detailed and varied army lists some of us have used or discussed. Joe M. Posted April 18, 2014 Author Share Posted April 18, 2014 Thanks...I have a PDF version of the codex and will be buying it soon. But I can at least look and plan. I am being very careful with this one. I did my first army (Necrons) too hasty and now if I want to ever get good paint scores at a tournament with them I would have to strip them and start over. I also made a lot of purchases that I ended up not liking and not using. For the Blood Angels I am going to be doing everything including a complicated display board and all that jazz. They are packed with great paint jobs and original kitbashes and conversions. My own personal recommendation: Baal Class Predators. I made the mistake as a BA player of never buying them until 6th ed....been playing since 3rd....I not regret all those years of not having 2 of them on the battle field to harass opponents with. Father Mapple Posted April 19, 2014 Share Posted April 19, 2014 Alternate purchases between a "plain" space marine unit and death company or sanguinary guard. That will let you mix the pieces and bits across multiple miniatures, giving them the BA flair. Many of the little icons and things can even go on Terminators and non-28mm compatible models.
