Scythes of the emperor.... Update 13/11/18

Recommended Posts

Your icons look really cool.

However, I wonder now and when, if Scythes even make sense as combat weapons...

Hmm I'm not sure you're quite getting the whole 40k thing...

More seriously, are you serious? A big blade on the edge of a piece of wood was been a mainstay warfare for millenia before we decided standing further away form each other while fighting was a better idea. Spears, Halberds, bilhooks, pikes and all variants thereof are all perfectly lethal; you just might need a bit of room to swing or stab them most effectively. That Scythe in particular has a grip very near the weapon head, so you can effectively use it like an extra big dagger for stabbing if there isn't room for a swing.

That, plus remember the scene from Interview with the Vampire when Louis cuts right through Santiago in the Parisian catacombs below the theater? Brutal.

Great update. I also like the pile of spent casings - but I think it would benefit from some sand around its base, as it now looks like a plastic spent bolter casing bit stuck onto the surface the marine is stadning on, which kind of removes the suspension of disbelieve of the Space Marine in his natural environment. :tu:

That left dude. Holy crap. How long ago was that?

Thank you gents, and to answer your question I painted that model when I was 14 I'm now 26 lol

I'm paying homage to him by making a revamped version of him.

Here is Sgt Maximum back from the jaws of the kraken, filled with new purpose, new heart of fire and better armour against the tyranid menace.

"For the ghosts of sotha"

Just to answer the question about the head on this mini, it's from the phalanx wardens set from

Forgeworld as halandaar pointed out. (Thank you fella)

So here is Sgt Maximum practically finished, just a few things to do then onto the base

As usual your battered and weathered armour looks awesome. But oh emperor that face, everything about it is just amazing, like all the details; the inujury, the eyes, the teeth and tongue, the stubble, it's just wonderfully done.
