I would have liked to make a challenge in my first ETL but I don't enough unpainted models, or money to purchase many more (after buying a knight) to compete this time. I am already very proud of how my first ETL has turned out and both Hendrik and Ldorte should be of theirs.

 

Well done guys, and thank you for such weighty contributions. It's definitely great fun watching your armies develop so far and to such high standard.

 

Oh and a Sinthos117 has vowed 2765 so keep up the great work guys if you hope to beat that :)

That is true, but we've seen no sign of Sinthos and a vow incomplete is no vow at all...

 

Great work Heckus, that's a nice scheme and works very well with the bases (which I also like). Looks like those of us with trooper vows are all cashing them in - a shame they're worth little but never let it be said the Guard doesn't do things properly! :D

 

My likes are still recharging it seems, looks like they'll take another battering today! :lol:

I've updated my original vow with a WIP picture of the Hellhammer, CCS and Lord Commissar. The Scions/Stormtroopers are literally one step from completion, and if I can haul myself up to my paint table in the next hour or so, they shall be done.

Fantastic effort Helion! They look very striking in their colour scheme, great to see so many Stormies I like the bases too, can you provide a few single model pictures for close ups? Once you've had your very well deserved rest that is. I'll set a timer for 5 minutes, after that it's back to the grind stone A shiny new Hellhammer should be a nice change from infantry so I'm looking forward to seeing that

Five minutes you say? Yeah, I reckon I can manage that. I'll see what I can do about a close up of one of the lads. The bases are just a basic railway ballast painted over with Mechanicum Standard Grey and then washed with Nuln Oil. Normally I drybrush a 50:50 White Scar:MSG mix on the ballast instead of the Nuln Oil, but base-coating white meant there was plenty of definition left on the base.

 

The plan for the Hellhammer is to do a fairly basic dazzle camouflage in the blue-green I used on the Stormies' carapace armour.

Yes, the lowerside's paintjob is sloppy. but ain't nobody got time to look at that,+ i ran out of that type of grey a while ago

 

for now i'm busy scratchbuilding, so no more painting for a while,especially considering i depart for denmark/switserland next week. i'll get back home the 21st so still might be able to get some painting in on those last couple of days left there!

An incomplete vow is truly no vow at all WarriorFish, but a vow in progress is still a vow. :)  I am still here and am pleased to announce I only need to paint the lasguns of 120 troopers and do a quick run through of all the faces before I am done with all but the command squad and the vehicles.  I will post an update picture when the basic guardsmen are complete, hopefully in about a week or two.
