Alternative Templar Bits

I've only built one of the torso, head combos....

I'm lagging, I'm sorry! I've been working on Celestine and some ministorum priests to add to our new Castellans detachment!

ALSO! I saw their tabards posted today and sent them an email, as postage to US isn't cheap or quick if they planned on any other Templar releases in near future. She informed me kindly that a "flap to Rhino" will be coming out this week. So I'm not sure if its doors, the front plate, or the top hatch as they have made for other armies. But if you're planning on snagging the tabards wait a few more days and grab this next piece too. I know i am! i LOVE that a company is giving us some bits love!

Hmm, focusing on witches instead of ZEAL, hmm....

Actually, than you very much for the investigative work you've done. I am very interested in getting some of their products.

Good to know. Again, thank you brother for your efforts.

Hey guys, it's been a while but I think I might revive this, I have found some pretty sick bits which you may wish to add to your crusade and there may be more which we haven't noticed!

For example, for many of you crusaders out there which want to properly kit out your neophytes, spell crow has made a fab "scout torso with tabard" for you!

These have already been shown in the éspellcrow bits for templar" thread a few days ago, but certainly deserve a mention here and maybe in the sticky post on top ?

Oh sorry I didn't see that, so I take it they are pretty new?

I just saw and knew I needed to tell somebody!

I'm currently building up my Ascended Emperor's Champion (counts as Celestine) and I'm looking for a really awesome, badass sword. I've been thinking about trying to find a resin Emperor's Champion for cheap and using the Black Sword, but does anyone know of a better idea? 3rd party, sword from another 40k or sigmar kit, just looking for a really awesome sword bit. Can be one or two handed.

I got the Templar shoulder pads from scibor a few years ago and they are way too big for marines.  The inside of the shoulder pad is made to fit a marine arm, but shoulder pad is like the size of the torso.  I was going to take the dremel to the inside of the pad to put them on terminators, but just another project that I never got around to!

On my Templar army I wanted everyone to have the tabard and all of my marines have the cross shoulder pad on both arms with the exception of HQ's, Capt.'s and such.  New it would be expensive so I got the starter kit from Smooth On.  Made some molds and got what I wanted.  So if your out of shoulder pads, they're the easiest thing to make molds for.

Well this was the original thread for all things bitz for Templars. I'll update the first post soon and this thread is also linked in the Resource thread that is stickied

I would suggest maybe the Grey knight swords, they come either as 1h/2h and can be greatswords or otherwise and are pretty neat, I normally cut our the generator bit (as we don't use force weapons, but it is up to you) and you could easily butcher a BT Axe to create a nice cross guard for the swords hilt.

Here is a pic of my EC with one such sword:

Vanguard Veterans relic blade or the sword from DA upgrade sprue?

That sword is awesome but when I visit the store everything is blank, and if I try and buy one it says they don't offer postage to the US. Which is weird because if I view their ebay store on mobile everything shows up just fine.

I'm having the same issue, can't see anything in their store, maybe one of our UK brothers can shed some light on it?

Well, now that question is answered. It is indeed the Rhino top hatch:

Plus some side doors:

I'll second that 'woah', and move for a vote of 'awesome.'

If the finish is as good as that picture, then it will make a fine addition to my collection... Assuming I actually run a standard rhino in a game, ever :P

Wow! I wasn't sure about them at first, but seeing yours assembled and painted looks awesome! I'll have to place an order. What did you use for the bottom half of the tabard?

Note to all, to avoid having the same conversation in multiple threads, I've merged the Spellcrow bitz thread with the original Templar Alternative bitz thread so folks who hadn't seen the original thread can see the original discussion and all the goodies we found back then. I will continue to keep the first post updated with links to new bitz as they come in.

So it's been asked of me to do a couple of comparison shots of the Spellcrow templar torsos as I mentioned in my crusade thread that they are a bit more squat than the stock GW ones. So I took some pics so you guys can see.

Here I lightly glued the two together at the shoulder top so it would be a direct comparison

http://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k48/Acebaur/40K/20170226_105325_zpse750djno.jpg

And here you can see each of them on the same pair of legs.

http://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k48/Acebaur/40K/Spellcrow%20torso%20compare_zps8vkbwppy.jpg

Note that both the legs and GW torso are from the new Tac squad kit. I think with a little bit of greenstuff the spellcrow ones will look just fine. The main issues arise from the torso being a little shorter but also the bowl on the bottom being a good bit deeper as well making for a shorter looking marine.

I also ordered the tabard bottoms and they are fantastic. They can be easily added to most existing GW torsos. The shields are really boss as well.
