Alternative Templar Bits

Here is a lineup up heads. They are a little narrower than the stock ones but not much. Especially next to the knight style helms.  I threw on a couple of FW HH helms too, one is Templar Brethren, and the other is a UM HH head. (sorry for the slightly blurry photo)

Here is the torso and a tabard. While they are all similar to the molded on ones that GW produces for the sternguard, you can easily fill in the gap to make it more like a full tabard.

Thanks Ace, I think I'll be ordering a squad of those and some of their Neophyte bits now seeing how they look. The details seem to be really crisp and I don't see any noticeable defects in the pictures there.

I can definitely vouch for the quality of the casts. The details rival GW, especially on the tabard bottoms and shields.

The FW decal sheet may come back though. It's not like they've terminated their BT range altogether.

After repeated requests to FW to bring back the transfer sheet, I have been notified that this is an impossibility due to the fact that it didn't sell well. I'm bummed because I was deployed at the time, and by the time I got back, it was gone. Does anyone know of another decal maker that does the Maltese Cross well in black for Neophyte/Initiate shoulder pads?

Also, can someone post a link for Lances? I had been out of the hobby until recently, so ANY help or advice is great.

This company does Maltese crosses and also custom decals

I haven't used them so can't vouch for quality - still rationing out my FW sheet.

Thanks. I just took a look & while some of them may be good for vehicles, I'm still in the same boat.

These guys also do Tempalr style crosses in black white red and black with red border.

I had read here somewhere else on this thread that these don't fit the shoulder pads of the Initiate/Neophyte, being too large. Have you worked with these decals?

That I have not, just had them in my list of links to different parts. I don't do decals all that often really.

Actually I have the armorcast decals. There are three sizes on the sheet. The largest is vehicle sized, the others fit on shoulder pads.

I'm doing a run of pics for various threads soon, I'll get some of the sheet with some measurements if that's helpful

Absolutely! That would be amazing!

Armorcast Decals measurements:

Large = 13 mm

Medium = 5 mm

Small = 1.75 mm

Medium easily fits shoulder and most knee pads:

Small fits on helmets and gauntlets:

Okay, that is enough to convince me! Beautiful artwork on those models BTW! Looks like Armorcast it is then! I was impressed with the black w/ red borders. If it will fit a knee pad, I'm sure I can accommodate it on Neophyte shoulders. Thank you so much Brother!

I just bought a couple of sheets, mainly because I've run out of the Neophyte sized black crosses on my FW sheet. Haven't used any but they seem pretty good. My only gripe was postage costs to New Zealand were extremely expensive, more than the product itself.

I'm used to that sort of thing though

Several of us use Bretonnian lances which look great especially on bikes.

Okay, stupid question to follow:

Where can I find these "Bretonnians" that I keep hearing so much about? I've seen a LOT of conversion work talking about their bits, but I have no idea where to look.

Well Bretonnia was an army from WHFB, but they got squatted when GW changed over to AoS. So their stuff got discontinued and now the only way to find it is to scour ebay and the like for the old kits/bitz. Not exactly the best way to get what you are looking for, but that's what we have to work with unfortunately.

How many lances did you need?
