Once, Ancient Grenn was Consul-Centurion Shar'rac Grenn of the 3rd company of the Realm of Epithemus, well respected in the Legion for his devotion both to duty and the teachings of Vulkan. The honour markings on his kneepads and the embossed seal of Nocturne on his chestplate recall the glories of his long career, which culminated in the brutal fighting on Isstvan V from which he barely escaped, for all that he knew as the last of his kind, alongside a handful of his brethren. It was on Dominica Minor that the tattered survivors heard rumours of Vulkan's death and the total destruction of their Legion, and when the dread fleet of Mortarion appeared in orbit of their refuge, they pledged to die in its defence rather than flee before their gene-father's murderers ...

i'm realy fired up for my (Dark) Mechanicum force with all the Skitarii leaks floating around, so i've started to paint Draykavak (it's just primer and first layer of metal atm, but i forgott to take pictures after the assembling >.>)

Where in the heck do you pull the money for this from? I just barely scraped my newest order by after quite a bit of small putting aside and saving lol! Im looking forward to your dark mechanicum. Who knows, maybe you'll tempt me to do some (lord knows you are with the deathguard).

Archmagos Draykavac

Warlord of Cyclothrathe, Sovereign-Prelate of House Atrax, Bringer of Perfection, Heretek of the Dark Mechanicum

Though he would become one of the most reviled of the Dark Mechanicum, Draykavac was an all but unknown figure before the civil war of the Warmaster's betrayal sundered the Imperium of Mankind. This bestially masked and black-robed Magos served as the chief military emissary of the Forge World of Cyclothrathe and the formost field commander of its Taghmata, answerable only to the sinister and hidden tribunal which rules his lightning-wracked world. As part of Draykavac's command, he also held the rank of sovereign-prelate of the Knight House of Atrax, which was fully oath-bound to Cyclothrathe which, while nominally it still had its own seneschals and master, was in reality little more than puppets of the utterly callous and inhuman Archmagos Draykavac.

With the outbreak of war within the Coronid Deeps, Draykavac was at the forefront of the campaign of invasion and conquest. Cyclothrathe carried out in the name of the Traitors, swiftly amassing a tally of atrocities and massacres to his name that set him apart as one of the most hated of his kind ...

my GW order arrived today:

first, the WHFB liche priest is a part-donor for my thousand sons Consul Praevian (i need the staff and the scarab)

some quick facts from Codex: Skitarii:

- it looks like Vanguard, Rangers and the Sicarians are all usable for the 30k setting

- the Onager Dunecrawler is based on Arkhan Lands MULI , and should be also usable for my Legio Fureans

- the cool Ironstriders aren't usable thought, because they were invented ~ M.33

- Ordinatus, Titan Legions, Legio Cybernetica and Auxilia Myrmidon are all part of the 40k mechanicus

- it seems like both Incaladion and Anvilus are loyal Mechanicus Forgeworlds at the end of M.41

i'll use a scheme similiar to that of Ryza for my Skitarii Auxilia force:
