I really love Tyberos' armor, but I never liked his arms. I much preferred Captain Semper's version. Yours looks good painted too. :tongue.:

Love Sempers version, but i was a fan of Tyberos claws since his release, that guy must be very nice for good-night-hugs :tongue.:

 

Arkhas Fal is coming along nicely.

former Master of the XIX Legion, Captain of the Nicor, traitors' bane

 

Arkhas Fal was the Terran-born Master of the XIX Legion before they were united with their long-lost Primarch on the world of Deliverance. Once given command of his Legion, Corax began to impose the style of war he had perfected upon Lycaeus over that which had defined the XIX Legion of old, particularly by purging the more cold-blooded ways of the Terran Xeric tribes which had once defined the Legion culture. The Legion had so often served in oppression, repression and occupation forces that Corax saw in some of the Terran members of his Legion something akin to the slavers of Lycaeus. Several of the Legion's highest ranking officers were displaced or reassigned to non-command roles, including Shade Lord Arkhas Fal, who had commanded the XIX Legion for three decades before the coming of the Raven Lord.  A small number of mostly Terrans of the Legion of old, had been assigned to many of these posts beyond the fringes of the Imperium, some in independent nomad fleets, other attached to various Rogue Traders Militum or other so-called "lone wolves". One of these fleets was in fact commanded by the Legion's former commanding officer -- Shade Lord Arkhas Fal -- on the direct order of the Primarch when Corax took over the Raven Guard. Re-entering Imperial Space at the Realm of Ultramar during the 5th year of the Horus Heresy, Fal and his man were confronted by the news of Istvaan and Calth - and swear their allegiance to Roboute Guilliman and his Imperium Secundus.

Note: This suit of Terminator armour shares many similarities with early Indomitus armour produced on the Forge World of Testudas, designed to be an dedicated assault variant. Arkhas Fal gained a prototype of this Tactical Dreadnought Armour after the compliance of 27-13, as a gift from the Testudas-Mechanicum, but because of material straits and the outbreaking Heresy (and Testudas' extermination in the 3rd year of war) only a handful of suits, around 500, were ever manufactured and used by the Legiones Astartes.

Arkhas is looking quite lovely. I love how much his faceplate contrasts the dark grey black everywhere else.

 

One might even think he looks a little sharky... :biggrin.:

and so, the carcharodons were born :tongue.: i even added a little shark marking on his left hip, representing his personal symbol, but you can't see it well 'cause of the weapon :biggrin.: i love FW's hints/links and easter eggs to their 40k chapters :happy.:

Sadly that means I'll probably have to give up on my theory of the Carchardons being pulled from loyalist Night Lords...

 

If they're all as pretty as Arkhas though, I suppose that will soften the blow a bit :D

Real interesting take on Arkhas Fal. I'm doing something with one of the Nomad Predation fleets fluffwise soon and it's interesting to see other people's take on the subject. The paintjob looks absolutely great, I think my only qualm - and this is subjective, so feel free to disregard - is I've had gone with a bare head for Fal, to clearly distinguish him from Tyberos and give him a sense of character a helmeted model sometimes lacks.

 

Thanks for your oppionion =). In fact, i wanted to use Shadow Captain Korvidaes head for him, but Tyberos' helmet is just awesome, and it makes more sence for a Terminator to wear a helmet (especially with close combat arnament). Last but not least, i like the idea of weapons and armour given from Chapter Master to Chapter Master. 

 

 

 

Keen to see what else you do for the Ravens.

I have ideas both for Corax' Ravens and the Terran-XIX-pre-Carcharodons of Fal, and may do both with ~1500 points in the future, as allies for my loyalist Legions, if i have some time for them.

I almost forgave you with that image, because at first its aquila looked like the VIII Legion batwinged skull symbol. But then I saw the ultramarine reversed omegas and now you've just made matters worse :wink:
