Awww, look at the little peacock, throwing a tantrum. Did somebody say the wrong thing when you asked if those coils make you look fat? :p

I'm intrigued. Has Guy Haley or Andy Smilie done any HH stuff yet?

Once, he was the Primarch of the Third Legion. Once, he was the Phoenician. Now, he's just another warp scutch, an appendage of Slaanesh. How the mighty have fallen...

(This hedonistic :cuss defeating both Ferrus Manus and Roboute Guilliman is one of the few things regarding the Heresy that I REALLY can't stand.)

Im also intrigued, more so about Andy Smilie... Possible Nassir Amit heresy action? biggrin.png

EDIT: After actually reading the "Read it because" on the site that i noticed that Jim Swallow will also be in it and it mentioned something about the Wolves, now my hope is diminished :(

Aaron tweeted about a 30k wolf story a while back so I'm guessing that's his story. I know Nick had plans for Fulgrim, assassin stuff sounds like James's bag and I'm not sure on the other two.

If I was to hazard a bet the NL story will be a sequel to U.E, in Prince of Crows I do believe one of the rendevous points was Sotha afterall.

I really hope the assassin story turns out to be a deeper look into Narek's mindset, but I can see it being a Grammaticus story.

If the NL story is a sequel to Prince of Crows, which I think was rumoured a little while back, then that must be ADBs contribution.

I'm sure I heard somewhere that the Wolves story was their side of the space battle with AL (Alaxxes?) and that the AL side of it would come later, but the blurb for this book mentions a Wolf Pack on a mission from Russ so that doesn't look like its true.

Not sure about the others. Narek would be a good story but he's currently indisposed. Grammaticus is in Cabal jail at the moment I think, Damon Pryantis maybe? Although I can't see why the would be sent after a traitor Primarch.

Aaron's words were something along the lines of; "And that's a pack of wolves sent to Terra to carry out a mission they'll never complete." Seems pretty conclusive to me brother. He has however recently completed an audio drama about Sevatar which I  suspect will tie into the new NL story.

Oh fair enough, hadn't seen that laugh.png There's another HH anthology coming out I think called Legacies of Betrayal, maybe the Alaxxes stories are in that?

I think I may have gotten mixed up somewhere here. This is Death and Defiance, which is a HH anthology, but there's also Legacies of Betrayal which is also a HH anthology and also coming out soon? That doesn't seem right...

That might be the second audio drama I ever buy, and the first that I actually listen to tongue.png Gotta get me some Sev!

Guy Haley wrote a story in this years event only novella, Sedition's Gate. His story is called The Laurel of Defiance, and is about Lucretius Corvo, the founder of the Novamarines. He already has their trademark quartered color scheme, which he was granted after his heroic efforts during the the Shadow Crusade. His nickname is "Killer of Titans". Pretty badcensored.gif dude.

He also wrote The Shards of Erebus in Mark of Calth. I thought this was one of the better stories in an anthology full of great stuff.

Guy Haley is certainly rising to the top tier of BL authors, hopefully we will get a full length HH novel from him soon.

I'd be lying if I didn't say I have a definitive man-crush on Narek. He almost overshadows my crush on Tauro Nicodemeus......Almost.

More of Narek would be awesome.

Normally they have more than 5 stories. A brother can hope.

Reading the Black Library page, it seems to me like it is composed only of five stories. It isn't the first to be that small, but there are usually more than five.

Plus, one of the images is a picture of the physical book. Five author names, not followed by ". . . and others!"

I imagine it is the same deal with Primarchs and Shadows of Betrayal, which IIRC came out pretty close together. One anthology is just "exclusive" novellas(specifically, this one) and the other is a normal anthology packed with short stories and one or two novellas.

I've heard a lot about this Alaxxes 2 story as well but I think it's been confused with Scars 2, which I believe I posted about in a big summary of upcoming releases a while back. Scars2 was released in the Sedition's Gate anthology and raps up some loose ends. Why the White Scars end up scattered across the galaxy for example. I honestly don't Alaxxes2 exists. Unless the audio drama; "Wolf's Claw?" is that story, I haven't seen any spoilers about it yet.

Legacies of Betrayal is an anthology including 18, yep you read right 18, stories including Brotherhood of the Storm. Presumably most of those stories will be advent calander stories.

Death of Defiance is being pre-released at Warfest and, by the ways it's worded on the website, the collector's edition will be available for purchase on BL.com until the start of next year.

And on the topic of Sev. You and me both brother, time for a big prison break from the Invincible Reason! Speaking of which, anyone else betting on a certain individual leaving Macragge via the Sotha machine in the NL story? As for Narek the end of U.E was gagging for a sequel to his storyline, we haven't the last of him for sure!

I had a great chat with Guy Haley at the Weekender. He's a GW veteran and has been writing no Heresy stuff but describes himself as the new boy in Heresy. He's clearly got good ideas though and I look forward to seeing more of his contributions.

I think A D-B's tweet might be about Master of Mankind. It features a Space Wolf pack called Howl of the Hearthworld. If they are a watch pack then their mission must be to ensure that Dorn isn't going to turn out to be a traitor inside the palace and kill the Emperor. That's a mission they won't complete.

Legacies of Betrayal from amazon:

Only from out of great conflict can true heroes arise. With the galaxy aflame and war on an unimaginable scale tearing the Imperium apart, champions of light and darkness venture onto countless fields of battle in service to their masters. They ask not for remembrance or reward - simply to meet their destiny head-on, and only by embracing that destiny will they come to learn what the unseen future may yet hold for them... This Horus Heresy anthology contains eighteen short stories by authors such as Graham McNeill, Aaron Dembski-Bowden, Nick Kyme and many more. Also, Chris Wraight's acclaimed novella Brotherhood of the Storm delves into the nature of the elusive White Scars Legion, and their questionable sense of duty

18 short stories. 18. Probably those advent-ultra-shorts. And Brotherhood of the Storm. Nothing really new here. Death and Defiance is the one to look forward to.
