I am Battle8rother and I stand a proud son of Angron, though not a single brother now know my true name, those that did have long since turned to dust. They now call me The Unheard, the Blooded Butcher of Ska'all and the Silent Stalker of the Red Sands. I am the Company Champion of the 34th Assault Company.

From the moment the Butchers Nails entered the scull of the Silent Stalker he ceased to speak unless issuing and accepting challenges on the red sands or issuing brisk instructions in the battle cant of the legion. The Stalker was a popular Astartes of Terran origin prior to the nails. It was at the compliance of Ska'all that he first took to the field of battle with the nails, they sung so loudly to him and pushed him so far that he was a shocking spectacle to those not gifted with the nails.

*revs chainaxe*

Who dares bring the schemer into the realm of warriors? :P

On the other hand, I fixed most of the damage the earthquake caused. Just waiting for the pack of five replacement marines to get to me now.

RELICT IS OFFICIALLY BACK IN BUSINESS, LADIES AND GENTLEMEN.

First order of business, a fresh section from my resin reserves to replace the smashed minis... Gotta do the decals and bases tomorrow.

The next section of marines and a Sicaran waiting for assembly and painting...

A second Sicaran, freshly washed and waiting for cleanup...

Ditto for my Spartan.

My pride and joy, restored to their former glory.

And in case you wonder where I learned to work a brush, this was it:

I might be joining you crazy kids over here in this dark corner of the boards. I'm working on World Eaters marines that will be a count-as for Centurion Shabran Darr that may or not turn into a squad of Rampagers at a later date. Here he is still relatively early in the conversion work:

Needs hands and I have a different head on the way and should be here by the end of the week.

The way I imagine my Crimson Sons after Isstvan III is that they helped other loyalists escape the slaughter and then spend their time hunting down traitors when they can. As Shabran Darr died on Isstvan, this will obviously not be him, but I was thinking of making him a Terran who was originally a War Hound and changes his armor to reflect that he(and maybe his squad, if I do one) are not World Eaters. Either that, or keep them WEs and paint them differently, maybe with defaced icons.

@ LongGone: That Gladiator armour looks great! My gut feeling says the guy needs a bandolier of skulls across his chest, though: It just seems a fitting element to make him look even more like a World Eater, plus it stands to reason that those who started to see themselves as gladiators would also have adopted that particular tradition of their Primarch.

As for gladiators who are a bit more over the edge, I give you these:

@ Battle8rother: Welcome to the fighting pits, brother. Have a seat, take a chainaxe. Here's your badge:

@ Slipstreams: You, sir, should be ashamed of yourself! ;)

@ Relict: Good to see you back in the game, mate! :)

@ Brother Chaplain Kage: That's an awesome WIP! I wouldn't really change the head, though: It's pretty much perfect as is.

As for the paintjob, what about painting these guys as regular World Eaters, but using more War Hounds heraldry on them: It's fun to imagine that loyalists would have gone back to symbols and heraldry from a time when their legion had not yet fallen -- plus there are lots and lots of little War Hounds decals on the FW decal sheet.

That axe is crazy good. I could definitely see myself carrying that everywhere... to chop everything in my way, including sandwiches... just because I could.

Seriously though it looks stellar. Great pose.

"Dude! You didn't even the clean the gore off of that yet!"

Thanks, glad  you like it.

Thanks, and your gladiators there look pretty fantastic. The bare chested one with the termie looks is particularly well done. Where is the upper body from?

The head I ordered looked good as a separate bit, but we'll see how it compares to this one when it arrives. As for the decals, that's an awful expensive sheet for a few War Hounds icons. :(

@ Brother Chaplain Kage: Cheers! The Arena Master's upper body came from this Hasslefree Barbarian.

As for the decals, I was happy enough to pick up almost an entire FW decal sheet when I bought some odds and ends from fellow hobbyist AgnostosTheos when he sold off his World Eaters, so cost was not as much of an issue. That said, it's really a wonderful decal sheet all around, with many very useful badges and symbols. In fact, my only gripe is that the red decals won't work all that well on post-heresy World Eaters. But since the decals weren't design for that in the first place, it's not really a legitimate problem. Anyway, I'd really recommend it for a Heresy era force.

If you guys don't mind a pure fluffnut, with no models to his name, to join the lot of you, I'd like to introduce my Khornate Warband, the Eyes of Tivan, hailing from the former World Eaters Legion.

The Eyes of Tivan have had their flesh slaved to the wills of blood gods who thirst most of all for the blood of brothers. They are led by the hulking Chaos Lord Brute Tyrke, bonded to Tivan himself. Though resistant to the corruption willingly embraced by their former brothers, they have nonetheless fallen just as far. As the weight of eons presses upon them, the division between servant and god blurs. They hound the very halls of Khorne's fortress, ensuring only the strong can rise to his court, and their black eyes see all.

At the moment, this warband is just an Index Traitoris article. At some point, I intend to approach the warband's 30k origins in the style of Forge World's Horus Heresy releases. What they have become by the 41st Millennium is, in truth, a warband of mini-Khârn the Betrayers. A host that begins its road to damnation by determining that the only path to freedom, the true freedom of death and release, is to vanquish the very deity that has chained them and their former brothers, all the while never knowing that their patron uses them as a weapon to vanquish rivals to its position in that great god's court, and inevitably, no longer caring.

But once, they were the Hounds of War, loyal to the Emperor of Man. Once, they cursed the name of their broken father, as he stripped them of the brotherhood they clung to so dearly and replaced it with a madness that could never be overcome. Once, the bonds of brotherhood were paramount. Now, they are shackles, chains cast upon them by the breaker of chains. Now, they only wish for the oblivion promised to them by the lie that was the Imperial Truth.

And a Blood God smiles, for it cares only that blood flows.

Kraut, in the thread in the PCA forum someone actually suggested the Chaos Marauders and Bestigor kits. I'm a big fan of the guys above, and your models in general, but I've got this loyalist thing going, you see. Even the Rampager models are a little too Blood-for-the-Blood-God for me (I know, sacrilege right? I should probably find my way out of the Chaos forum ). When I finally order some FW resin, I'm going to lean more toward the weathered/damaged look than the fresh from bathing in the blood of our enemies look.

Well done, Kraut, as always.

Your minis convey the right sense of savagery fitting of the followers of the Blood God. I've always felt that the Khorne Berserkers that GW offers were a little cartoony. Yours actually looks intimidating.

As seen in my WIP thread...

Removed the mohawk and added some hands.

I decided to change up the helmet to make it look a little more sturdy and also as kind of a MK 2.5 that has touches of the II and III in it. I'll have to get some better pics of it, but that crest bisecting the helmet face is actually a blade. I figure a World Eater would be the kind of marine to turn his whole body into a weapon, so why not a blade down the face of the helmet for when both your hands are busy and you still have to tear someone's face off?

In continuing to give the appearance that this guy is a juggernaut, I did a test and filled in the right greave up to the level of the armor trim to see if it added to the walking tank look I want. I think it does, so I'll be filling in the rest of the frontal armor like that.

So do I get to join in the reindeer games now?

I'm sorry indeed to say that fluff is still all I can offer on my lads since I am ridiculously short of funds.

So, I present this. My take on a 'Vindicare' specialist sniper amongst the ranks of the 25th......

"Raucous, boisterous and full of bonhomie.

Not, you would imagine, the hallmarks of a sniper. Nor indeed would they necessarily be desired in one, but Conhuga Barrasi has never conformed to people’s expectations – in fact he takes great delight in not doing so. In many ways he is such an atypical character for the 12th Legion to have within it’s ranks that there is more than one rumour floating around that he is actually an infil-traitor from the 20th and yet he has such an obvious bombastic temperament that at times he could be mistaken for a son of Fenris.

It is true that Barrasi hails originally from a different company – the 14th, in fact, the same as the Moritat – but his skills have made him somewhat of a wandering soul; drifting from warband to warband throughout the Eye and the Maelstrom, moving on whenever his welcome has become strained. He has spent time in the service of Huron Blackheart and Fabius Bile both (although he departed from the latter’s service swiftly after discovering that his eyesight was to be studied a little too closely) but has stayed within the ranks of Captain Rieekan’s men the longest since he is not viewed with as much suspicion because of their more ‘combined arms’ approach to warfare. Even here, though, he is subject to outright contempt from several line units for his perceived cowardice of killing only at range – and it is well known that Dust Champion Megran has personally marked him for death. Although this antipathy is somewhat muted given the large number of Havocs and the hulking Behemoth Obliterators also within Rieekan’s camp. It does not do to annoy a man who can have you turned to steam with a raised eyebrow. Being the only one even remotely comfortable in the Moritat’s presence hardly hurts either.

It should be noted that Barrasi does not kill at range because he prefers it, he kills at range because he is good at it. When pressed he is just as deadly as any other 12th legionnaire in a close fight, though he prefers to avoid  the risk of damage to his prized rifle. He considers his greatest kill to be that of Princeps Adronithus of the Reaver-class titan Inviglia Alpha who’s head briefly appeared from his armoured box for a breath of fresh air forty miles behind the lines. And paralysed an entire Front for months. Conhuga had been in position for twelve weeks before that shot and it is recorded that his only requested reward for that feat had been a barrel of ale and a hot bath, though not necessarily in that order."

@Haelim: Awesome cosplay, dude!

I'll leave you all a little quote from my Tib.

I writ nothing yet about him, but I think this sums up his caratcher quite well, at least for how I figured him :)

“When I was a child, my father brought me in front of a future-teller, as the traditions of his tech-tribe wanted.

I was his firstborn, so he expected to hear about my future greatness.

He was not disappointed.

<I see a tremendous beast,> she said <Being slain by the greatest mortal ever born on Terra.>

Now, as my men and I prepare to lay siege to The :cussing Palace itself, I realize that I'm not the warrior... I'm the beast.
Tough I ain't sure there's someone big enough to kill me, out there.

I'll prove the bitch wrong.”

- Tiberius Thanatos, commander of The Merciless, before the Siege of Terra

I bring an update on the Shabran Darr counts-as, and a question.

First, pictures!

Got the new head in and I think it looks great. Getting closer to finishing this guy up, and the question I had is if any WE players out there had purchased the transfer/decal sheet from FW and had some of the War Hounds icons left over? I'd rather not spend the money for a full WE sheet for what I'm looking for, so if you'd be interested in parting with them, shoot me a PM and we can discuss terms. :)
