Hey guys I'm relatively new here so I thought I would introduce myself.

 

I've been involved with 40k off and on for a few years and have really picked the hobby back up in the last 8 months or so.

I am a long time World Eaters fan and I am currently working on my loyalist 22nd Siege Company for 30k led by Captain Ajax, a Primaris War Hounds chapter led by Chapter Master Ajax (my 30k 22nd company captain as a dreadnought), and I am reviving my old chaos World Eaters army from about a decade ago.

 

I have been looking at this particular thread for a while and have gotten a lot of inspiration from you all. Anyway, happy to be here!

But here is the start to my WE army. More on the way!

 

Hey, nice work ! I assume these are BoP legs. It seems some of them are reposed, am I right ? I'm planning to use BoP marines also, do you have any tip to share ?

Thanks! They certainly ARE BOP legs. I am not very good and the conversion part or GS which you can tell when theyre painted. But i just chop up the legs near the hip and slwoly cut away from there and position them on the AOS blood warrior legs.

They look nice man. I like them a lot.

I had some bits laying around so I made my first new model for my chaos World Eaters army.

I really like the mixture of heresy era armor with bits from the chaos sprues, so I think I'm going to center my army around the looks of this guy. I'm probably going to model and paint them as participating in the Siege of Terra or the Scouring. I've got about eight MK IV marines left over so I am thinking about converting those into havocs. I've also got 24 Khorne Bezerkers that I put together and painted around ten years ago. Those will have to be stripped. I still like these models but they are starting to show their age. What does everybody here like to use for berzerkers? I've seen a lot of really good stuff done with AoS kits, but I would like to stick with 30k and 40k parts if possible as my conversion skills are not fantastic.

Thanks. Yeah I'm right there with you. MK III is by far my favorite armor. Can't wait for some new zerkers!

Ive been thinkinh about that recently. If WE/Khorne get a reboot....or all CSM major factions for that matter do you think they will continue in the way of DG and TS? Modified heresy era armor?

I hope so for WE anyway. I think modified heresy era would make the most sense. 

Although I would be fine with other armor marks for regular CSM kits

You would expect them too follow the trend. I certainly hope they carry it on

Pretty good update.

 

Got a lot of oils done. Still need chains skulls and blood but getting there. Really happy with red on shoulders not so much on packs.

Getting started on a project I've had in a box for a long time, Khornate Warp Talons.

 

I've never been a fan of the huge blocky jump packs, and after seeing a conversion using gargoyle wings a few years back I wanted to try the same:

 

I want to cut the wing membrane away beneath the lower appendages, and fill in the gaps with green stuff:

I still have some things to try, like our drop pods, but so far I’m learning the lesson that a list without shooting is not a good list.

 

I had 3 maulerfiends, 2 Blood slaughterers, 2 daemon princes, 2 units of cultists, and 2 units of Berzerkers in Rhinos.

 

Against a shooty emperor’s children list, most of my units were dead before turn 2. Two leviathans, a contemptor, 2units of nm, and 2 units of CSM. Not even the scariest list it could have been, by far.

 

Could make an argument for better LoS blocking terrain and using it properly for sure, but even one unit of long range shooting would have either been a priority for the opponent’s shooting or destroyed/neutered the effectiveness of enemy units.

 

I’m changing my army structure to compensate. Maulerfiends are out, gonna get some shooting in. I have a helbrute, Leviathan, and contemptor of my own, as well as havocs and two units of obliterators I’m kitbashing. That’s in addition to my renegade artillery, which is probably one of the most cost-effective choices, especially now that earthshakers are -3 AP.

 

So, in short, a pure rush list was never a very good list, but in the past 2 editions with KDK I had decent success. Now? Nope. Gotta have balance of some sort.

Interesting to hear Jugger ... Have you tried forgfiends? 

 

Defo have to get more shooty units in my WE army somewhere, defo keep my Havocs (4x HBs) and might get another squad of Havocs with Autocannons in. Also tempted for 2x laspred and/or LR's
