Well I guess it was to be expected to see new EC rumours popping up after GW revealed the Slaanesh daemons. Can't say it sounds any more or any less likely than the general speculations we can read everywhere already though.

I just want the minis to look good, IMHO they dropped the ball with the Daemons and didnt quite deliver but hey ho thats life. If the EC minis dont float my boat I guess Ill just order a lot of old csm's off ebay (should be cheap now they have been updated) and get converting.

I love the daemons but I expect the EC to look vastly different. I just hope the bare heads won't be too mutated. Not digging that look for my Noise Marines that much.

The cavalry unit would be awesome news as I was planning to convert some bikes anyway. :P

I'm not very familiar with the Heresy Era EC organization, did they have any special Terminator units like the Deathshroud that might appear, or would you just expect some kind of Noise Marine Terminators?

They have the Phoenix Guard. I'm hoping for a situation where we get both the Phoenix Guard & vanilla Noise Marine Terminators, ala Deathshroud & Blightlords, but that's probably a bit wishlisty.

As for EC whispers, beyond common sense & the GS hint, there haven't been any concrete rumours or even rumour engine pieces we can connect to any release yet. I'd keep the hype to a minimum, and I say this as somebody who would trade his limbs for an EC release

So how do Kakophoni scale to the new CSM? Much smaller?

Not sure if it helps, but some of the GW staff have converted the new CSM to legion specific units and one of them used the Kakophoni bitz to make Noise Marines:

Yeah, I think it's the old GW bits. The reason I ask is because I believe the Kakophoni we're larger than normal Marines and may be more in-line with the current scale which would make them perfect for Noise Marines.

Those are definitely the GW Finecast Noise Marine upgrades, not bits from the FW Kakophoni kit.

I don't have any Kakophoni myself to check, but I was under the impression they scaled similarly to the other Heresy infantry models, so would be around the same size as a plastic MKIV marine (i.e. shorter than the new CSMs). That said a couple of them are in more upright poses, so look taller than your standard squatting Marine.

I have a very odd question. Is there any quirk in the Emperor's Children geneseed that leads to them prone to developing white hair like their Primarch? The official HH model of Eidolon has white hair, most art of Saul Tarvitz has it, younger official art of Lucius and Fabius also have it. Just a strange detail I noticed as I read more about them.

I'm reading too much Slaanesh fluff of late, it's concerning :p

This is what the wiki says:

Much is still extant in the ancient Imperial documentation of the IIIrd Legion's Founding, and from the data it is apparent that the mark of the Legion's gene-seed and its conditioning produced warriors with finely sculpted physiques, a noble bearing, and finely-controlled thought processes, with psychological tendencies driven towards personal achievement and competition to prove individual superiority.

The only physical abnormality registered was the occasional incidence of albinism, and a shift in iris colour to violet in some recruits. Such minor effects of the gene-seed implantation and conditioning process did nothing to distract from the aura of aesthetic refinement that clung to the IIIrd Legion, even in the first years, and they were held up as an archetype to be lauded and by whom other Astartes were judged.

Depends on what your army is doing - our chapter tactic doesn't really alter the way EC plays versus "default" (aka no legion trait) chaos warband, so it really depends on what you do with the rest of your warband.

The only things noteworthy about EC are Noise Marine Troops and Sonic Helbrutes, so specialist detachment wise ... pretty much anything that doesn't focus on regular Chaos Marines I'd say.

Since it's so silent here even after getting some neat stuff in PA2, I assume everyone here is like me and is just waiting for new Noise Marine models before actually doing much with the army? :D  (too bad we can't as easily kitbash awesome models like World Eaters by using AoS Khorne models)
