Primarch Movie Cast

So yeah, I know this has been done before, but I haven't seen one of these threads in a while, and I want to get my dream team out for the Primarch actors in a mythical Horus Heresy movie. Here are my views and why. I also mostly looked at their faces and performances, obviously some of these guys are short and stocky but thats where CGI would come in of course. what are your thoughts?

Lion El'Jonson - Viggo Mortenssen (just see his role in LOTR, I think he'd be so similar to Lion, though would have to act more aggressively of course.)

Fulgrim - Jason Isaacs (obvious reasons are obvious)

Perturabo - Brian Cox (He has this brooding power and can give a threatening performance, just how I imagine Perturabo being. Check him out in Troy)

http://i.telegraph.co.uk/multimedia/archive/02114/brian_cox_2114223b.jpg

Khan - Ken Watanabe (last Samurai was good, though perhaps oversimplified. Even so Ken Watanabe is the man, and he can do a great job being a military leader and giving strong performances).

Leman Russ - Tyler Mane (hes big, he looks like a Viking, hes perfect... see him in X-men or Troy (lots of Troy people here))

Rogal Dorn - Gerard Butler (honestly Gerard can play a calm honest roll and an aggressive vicious roll really well, Dorn has both of those traits).

http://www.celebritysizes.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/Gerard-Butler1.jpg

Konrad Curze - Edward Norton (Norton is awesome, he can play a really good psychotic criminal, I think he'd be perfect for Curze)

Sanguinius - Brad Pitt (come on... again watch Troy, Achilles = Sagnuinius)

Ferrus Manus - Glen Jacobs (WWE's Kane) (again, big and brutal, just like Mannus, no idea of acting capabilities)

Angron - Nathan Jones (who is that? YEAH its :cussing ANGRON. See him at the start of Troy)

Roboute Guilliman - Daniel Craig (smart, sophisticated, but can play a military role for sure)

Mortarion - John Malkovich

Horus - Russel Crowe (He has Charisma, he can be athletic, and he can sure as hell be an inspiring warlord. Watch Gladiator if you haven't seen it)

Alpharius / Omegon - Kevin Spacey

Magnus the Red - Liam Nesson (Gaunt, strong voice, good as a mentor/sage role but not a wimp)

Lorgar - Brad Dourif (this guy has some of the best acting I have ever seen... just watch Exorcist 3 or see him in LOTR)

Vulkan - Forest Whitaker (Forest really has that honest face, something I can totally imagine Vulkan having, I think he can pull off this role very well)

Corax - Benicio Del Toro (I can see him being the loner/cunning type like Corax, I'd say he also has the look with pale skin and dark hair, I liked him in the Wolfman).

I think brad pitt might make a better roboute (although I love craig I am not sure I can see him as a primarch), I think you need a more elfen look to sang which might be better portrayed by Orlando bloom or Craig Parker.

I really don't think so, I think Sang and Pitt look identical. Bloom would be far too child-faced imo, I wanted these guys to look more serious. Everytime I see Pitt in Troy I can only imagine Sanguinius being like that, afterall in many books hes supposed to be THE strongest and most skilled Primarch.

I guess. I always got the "too beautiful to live" vibe from descriptions of sang though. (Not that the actors I suggested really pull that off, but pitt doesn't seem androgenous enough for it. although these are primarchs we are talking about.)

I'll see you're Carl Weathers and raise you an Idris Elba.  "Stringer" Bell, Primarch of the XVIII.

Javier Bardem could work as Curze.

actually yeah, I agree with both of those, those are two great choices as well

i like this list!

But who would play the Emperor eek.gif !!!???

Clearly it would HAVE to be Morgan Freeman, right? He's the go-to for god-like roles. Also, Tommy Lee Jones get my Malcador vote.

Especially considering liam is already taken.

Jim Carey for Curze. Eternal Midnight of a Bloodstained Mind!

Idris Elba for Vulkan. Give Heimdal a hammer!!!

John Lithgow for Perturabo.

Chris Hemsworth for the Lion.

Benedict Cumberbatch for Sanguinas.

and.... (drumroll)... William Shatner for the Emperor!!!

WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT!!

I must bring the B&C thread screaming into the light of peace and unity, one comical atrocity at a time.

I had to say Carey for Curze. If I chose Tom Hiddleston then Hemsworth as the Lion would just be a Loki/Thor fight.

..and Shatner? Okay, I'm just being evil on that one.

I actually think Laurence Fishburne, if he was a little darker (perhaps with makeup) could be a pretty good Vulkan.  He seems to have that large frame and rounder face that I always thought of Vulkan as having.

Also, I think Chow Yun-Fat as he looked as Sao Feng in Pirates of the Caribbean 3 would be great for Khan.

Good list, only changes I would make would be -

Stephen Lang as Dorn (not land, woops)

Tom Hardy as Horus

Javier Bardem as Lorgar

Christian Bale as the Night Haunter

and I second Elba for Vulcan

edit: Mel Gibson as the Emperor of Mankind, I believe he's proclaimed this on a number of occasions either way tongue.png

Here we go again, Ferrus cast as some other big dumb brute. Ferrus needs an actor that is convincing at being strong physically AND mentally. He was an inventor after all.

I dont know the actors name, but the guy who played Zod in the latest superman movie is perfect. Seriously, look at the forge world model, and Man of steel's Zod. They are nearly identical.

I feel Patrick Stewart would make a good Emperor.

I feel like Lee Pace(the guy who played the elf king Thranduil in the Hobbit movies) would make a good Fulgrim. Grace, speed, skill, pride whole time during those movies when he was on screen all I could think is he is a prick and he will make a good Fulgrim.

This may be a weird one but Dave Batista( Drax the Destroyer in Guardians of the Galaxy) has a Vulkan vibe to me.
