First things first. Please bear in mind that the general idea of this is a fluffy (well, thats what I'm going for at least) list of Imperial Fists holding the line while a squad of tooled up Specialists (in this case Seekers and attached Centurions) go out and break the enemies attack.

Now, on with the show.

HQ: 255pts Total

Master of Signal : Artificer Armor, Melta Bombs, Refractor Field. 120pts

Primus Medicae : Artificer Armor, Melta Bombs, Refractor Field, Power Weapon, Combi-Weapon. 135pts

Troops: 530pts Total

Legion Tactical Squad : 19 marines, Vexilla, Artificer Armor, Melta Bombs. 265pts

Legion Tactical Squad : 19 marines, Vexilla, Artificer Armor, Melta Bombs. 265pts

Elites: 490pts Total

Legion Apothecarion Detachment: 2 Apothecaries, Artificer Armor (2x), Augury Scanner (2x). 120pts - One Attached to each Tactical Squad.

Legion Contemptor-Mortis Dreadnought : Two Twin-Linked Lascannons. 185 pts

Fast Attack: 530pts Total

Legion Seeker Squad : 8 Marines, 7x Combi-Weapon (plasma), Artificer Armor, Power Weapon. 310pts

-Land Raider Proteus : Armored Ceramite. 220pts

Heavy Support: 195pts Total

Legion Sicarian Battle Tank : Armored Ceramite, Lascannons. 195pts (maybe a Venator)

TOTAL : 2000 Points.

Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but, Imperial Fists Units firing Bolters (or the Bolter part of a combi-weapon) gain +1 to Ballistic Skill. Seekers come stock with BS5. So does the Primus Medicae and the Master Of Signal. I join them all into one squad (can more that 1 consul join the same squad? I think they can). Now, with this squad of 10 BS6 Units, I forgo the MoS Shooting to give the Squad +1BS. Lo and Behold, BS7 shooting.

The reason I gave the Seekers and Primus Medicae Combi-Plasmas was for them to have the capability to deal with potential 2+ units or anything of High Value that needs to die NOW.

What I need clarification for : If firing a Bolter with Special Issue Ammunition, do you still benefit from the +1BS? I would assume so since it isn't explicitly stated to not work when firing S-I-A. If they can, it should prove quite amusing, since they'll now have a 2+/5+ to hit when shooting. Something that should come in handy in the event of RNGesus gracing me with 1s.

Although, with Marked For Death, the above about Seekers is rather wasted and redundant, though will help once the Marked unit destroyed or not currently being hunted by the Seekers & Pals Squad (aka the artists formerly known as SPS).

Imagine BS7 Scorpuis Bolts or on the off chance that it happens, Rapid Fired Tempest Bolts. ~16 Small Blasts that don't scatter (even though they're S3 AP6) should be quite hilarious the first time around. After that, rather tedious tongue.png but hey its a good squishy unit sweeper option! Especially when they're clumped up.

Might also run this as RG since they're ruled might give more to a list such as this. Maybe even Alpha Legion.

In my brief overview of this (will do a more detailed breakdown once at my pc later), it seems to be strong in terms of general killiness (sp?) but actual ability to hold objectives or Imo overall effectiveness it's far too strung out, you do seem to be leaving far more towards a seeker driven list (personally I wouldn't even contemplate sticking my two only HQs (one a major backfield player) into the single (and lonely infiltrator) unit - alongside this you're chucking an eighth of your entire list (almost a quarter when you add in the HQs) into a very soft unit, apart from 3 guys (HQs & Sarge) they're 3+ armour...

 

I think a 'hold the line' based IF list would be 3-4 big Tac squads (takes advantage of the +1 BS), DakkaPreds for anti-inf support, backed up by Mortis-Contemptors, Rapiers for anti-armour/heavy inf/flyers and possibly something to counter-attack like a squad of Templars in a LR Phobos or some Cataphractii.

 

Again all imo and only a short breakdown.
