Alternative ways to use Prophet of the Voices?

So we're familiar that it's good to have on a Sorc so you can reduce Perrils on the Dark Side of the Force. I've glanced on the subject in another topic, but ultimately, like the Dimensional Failure, I have to ask what else can it do?

Since it's a Possessed restriction, I've been trying to fathom other HQs who can benefit from it, but CS trades general combat for utility, and ironically that utility screws up most modes of transportation. Vehicles may subvert that, but LRs are situational and expensive. I almost wanted to take a Steed for flanking, but it feels too weak and quite honestly I :cussing hate the model.

There isn't really a way to make an actual good model with the Prophet upgrade, aside from the Sorcerer. Best thing you can do is creating a budget Lord, but that's just not that good lol.

To give an example:

Chaos Lord; Prophet of the Voices, Blade of the Relentless; 125 points.

Prophet slightly counters the fact that the Blade starts with Ap3, because you have Rending 1/3 of the time :P You put him in a unit of Possessed, because that's the only damn place you can go.

Here when rolling well the Lord at least performs better than a similar priced combat character I guess, that's something.

But in that price range wouldn't you just take Khârn and have more deployment options  Or a naked sorc ?

Yes you would, which is why why I said it isn't good, but merely the best non-optimal use of the upgrade. It's making the best of a bad situation, which is what many people do and want. It's in a way what we all do here, because we choose to play Chaos while Chaos isn't that good to start with ;)
