Warhounds were 'supposed' to be the inverse of the World Eaters. Although there should be as much variation in the earlier versions as in the later.

 

Funnily enough I'm working on a test model for a Warhounds scheme right now. Hoping to get it finished tonight.

The mold line on his left leg has been noticed and removed to the best of my (poor) ability. Farewell, lower rivet, farewell.

The damage on his lower front armor is due to gluing on krak grenades, disliking the result and removing them.

Nice, there seems to an oily sheen to the armour.

It's just generously applied nuln oil though. I did play with light and contrast so that details could be picked out on that black however.

I really like it - especially lining the black with blue, gives a darker more shadowy look as opposed to straight black :)

Thank you. I got the idea to use blue to highlight instead of grey from this post of Inquisitor Eisenhorn's. I'm not sure whether to use it or stick to grey for the War Hounds' black though.

I didn't remove the inquisition symbol on his sword because I'm lazy, but it did allow me to paint a nice little orange thing on his otherwise yellow sword.

He'll reappear in a new thread in the Hall of Honor once I complete at least one squad, but I won't buy the models before I have painted everything I need to paint, so it will be in a long while.

Yo dawgs! I need your help.

I wanted this Raven Guard officer to have a long-hafted axe and thought I could make do with shaving the original scythe. But the result was a sad little blade that made toothpicks look threatening and so I removed it altogether. Now I'm planning to hunt down a cataphracti power axe on ebay but before doing that I need to know if it's sized appropriately. Can anyone help?

Yeah, it's anachronistic, but I dislike mkII and don't care for mkIII. I can pretend it's in fact post-Nuceria and the Emperor mercy killed Angron/let him die with his slaves and that's why my War Hounds' pauldrons and backpacks are the black of mourning, but then it enters the dubious alternate timeline position. And even then that's not what I think, I just chose black for these parts because I'm think of painting white.

The nice thing about him is that I can use him for Raven Guard and Salamanders in addition to War Hounds because of the black shoulder pads.
