After I started this project I made the hard decision to for the moment to focus on just the one legion force and fold all my in progress Iron Warriors into 8th. Luckily I've still got enough of the Terror Assault list to paint before I start crying stripping all the boltgun off them. So let the pictures begin! And yet Haren’all barely saw them, nor heard the cries of despair and pain carrying through the Vox networks from the lunar settlement below. His eyes and thoughts glued to the oculus, as the ruins of a warship just as proud as his own slowly turned in death, atomic fire still visible all these days later.It wasn’t regret that caused his thoughts to linger on the Imperial Fist’s vessel, or not in the traditional sense. Having had them imposed upon his force in the wake of his Primach’s ‘outburst’, and only because his forces were too far from home to even reach the muster. He’d came to understand them and how they wage war. Not respect. No the dour fools. But while his plan to remove them had succeeded beyond his expectations he still felt regret, unlike the mortal prey down upon the world below and the lunar complex they orbited, they were Astartes, and should of died with a bolter in hand. That thoughts caused Haren’all to smile, the first action he’d taken in minutes, almost timed perfectly for a larger explosion to ripple out from the hull of the Terra Unbound as it found another oxygen pocket. He could almost imagine the survivors in the hell it had become, trying to escape the radiation, the fires and the void. Yes the plan worked better than intended. Dropping out of the warp around the mudball spinning beneath his feet he requested a personnel transfer, to discuss the astropathic message the Night Lords received just prior to the jump.None the wiser they agreed, three shuttles left the Agony, all packed with crude atomics, that detonated the moment they set down in the primary hangerbay. At that moment a loud cry came through the vox to be cut off by bolter fire and the sounds of running. Another smile split his features.My I am jolly this night he thought. ‘Vox master Hawne!’ He called as he rose from his throne.‘Aye my Lord’ came the respectful call from the command station to his left. ‘Order the claws to begin the withdrawal. I believe we have shown our lesson to this world. Has the world managed to shut down communications with the complex?’Walking over to stand before his Lord Hawne saluted with fist over chest.‘No my lord, nothing they have can shut down the signal, all vox on the planet in every city is hearing what is done on the lunar city, i mean complex before us.’‘Perfect’ he sighed. ‘back to your station Vox Master. Order is given, detonate the life support, and the final claws are to complete the destruction of the airgates, nothing will get in or out without destroying it.’‘Then. Then we leave this world. For Retribution is surely inbound.’With the destruction of Terra Unbound the small fleet of under the command of Haren’all moved into orbit of the industrial world of Lazar II. Calls were coming from the surface offering aid and worried as to the seemingly random explosion of one of the Agony’s sister ships. Requesting permission to enter orbit of the One lunar city and research station for resupply while refusing all else. They were granted permission. Once in orbit thunderhawks launched from the agony, landing at all airlocks or gates, even as the personnel within looked worriedly at each other and requested information, the claws struck. Tearing into the complex, many managed to simply walking into the complex from the docking bays, others used melta bombs to breach emergency locks. In all Haren’all had 240 Nightlords inside a city numbering 120,000. The planet didn’t leave it unopposed, oh no. Dozens of landers took off loaded with troops emergently assembled. They were all allowed to dock. The claws having only taken the areas surrounding their entry as ordered waited. Killing all lights in these outer sections they waited for the landers to come in to land. The slaughter began. As this slaughter was going on the support fleet moved in, not to attack the planet. No that was not the lesson he taught. But a small orbital was to be taken and repurposed, the vox systems reprogrammed to broadcast across the whole planet, the fate of the lunar complex. The NightLords had come. And for ten days they had. Every Vox in every corridor played out across the planet, the last sighs of entire hab sectors as smoke smothered them, every cry as the claws cut into them. Every last stand, and every whisper. And yet on the tenth day the claws simply vanished. Fear soaked survivors could be heard crying in relief all throughout the complex, thousands had died but they’d made it. Across the planet people cried in relief the vox no longer barked to the sound of death. The relief didn’t last long, within hours those with the knowledge of the systems discovered all life support destroyed. And without immediate aid the city would be dead within a week. The planet responded in hours despatching landers to aid the survivors and save the complex. The first and only one to enter through an airdock decompressed a full third of the complex. 20,000 survivors of the terror attack lost. The night lords had strategically removed or damaged bulkheads throughout. Never enough to destroy the whole complex, but any attempt to aid them would result in the eventual destruction of what they tried to save. Morale destroyed, the landers returned to the planet’s capital, hysteria by that point gripped the complex, and the sounds of crying, destruction and death rang out across the planet, as the city slowly died. The Nightlord’s ships slowly slipped into the warp, hunting for a fresh target. Brothers the time has come, We join the Warmaster in this rebellion. All those who could not rejoin the legion. Cast off the Imperial chains, and become the Lords of Night. Loquille Posted October 24, 2014 Author Share Posted October 24, 2014 While not Night Lords (It's scary how much is almost completed, just needing bases or lightning ect but we all know how easy it is to get distracted)Here's the first models of my Solar Auxilia. The idea was to take the Napoleonic British uniform and adapt it to these, I think it worked well, now to just paint the rest of his unit and start building the second. Loquille Posted April 13, 2015 Author Share Posted April 13, 2015 And the final update for today I swear (means I actually have to paint more now, and yes it should probably be pods, no it most likely wont be) A couple nights a go while having a hobby conversation I decided to go digging into my bits box to make another random character, because who doesn't need more characters they'll never use? Well something must of happened, painting fairies or something it ended up not being a Night Lord. I'm pretty pleased with how he turned out. It's one of those colours I enjoy painting and sadly don't get to do that often, mainly because I come to my senses before I jump in. How this turned out though I'm tempted to work on a small force, maybe for ZM or a small cityfighting force, just something to mix in between Night Lords and other projects. This time going for a basic infantry list with the obvious Night Lords rules. 3000 infantry list. Praetor, digi weapons, paragon blade, terminator armour and teleport Master of Signal, chainglaive, refracter field. 3 Apothecaries. 5 Terminators, Reaper Cannon, chainfist2x combi meltas, 2x Thunder Hammers,2x Pair of Lightning Claws Contemptor Twin-linked LascannonIn built grav gun Lightning, Ground Tracking, Battle Servitor,6x Kraken Pen 20 Tacticals, additional weapon, Vexilla 10 Tacticals, additional weapon, Vexilla 10 Tacticals, additional weapon, Vexilla 5 Plasma support marines 5 Plasma support marines 5 Lascannons 10 Autocannons 10 Missile Launchers 2976 pointsNow the scary bit, except for the two plasma units and Missile launcher heavy support I own the rest of it, I didn't realise I had so much scattered around, found the Lascannons and bodies for them hidden in a box marked Astral Claws, woops. Anyway for now I'm claiming a unit of termies and the dread from the terror list until I replace them so I can keep the lists without anything having to swap boxes. Their clothing under the armour really looks to me like they've been flayed which would be really fitting if they do. Anyway, everything looks pretty awesome. Really like the White Scar guy. Thankyou The solar are more just a collection at the moment, but I do need to start using them for more than just collecting dust. I decided I was fed up of seeing the Navigator model sat unpainted on my desk, so it was about time I introduced it to paint. I wanted to paint it different though, and this happened. I'm quite happy with the way the tree and blossom has came out on the sleeve, much better than the one on the back but overall I think it works. Seeing they'd most likely never get used for my Night Lords it was pretty easy to decide to swap them over. Note to self. STOP undercoating in black when painting white.
