I don't know if it's been FAQ'ed per se but when the iBooks version was updated power weapons be and power swords only. Same applies to DCA. I don't know if the non iPad (ebook?) version updates or not.

You need to update in any event to get the new rules concerning psykers so power swords it is.

every version of codex inquisition that was officially downloaded from games workshop/black library has always said power swords, on inquisitors, DCA, and crusaders.   the only ones who get to choose what sort of power weapon they get are priests, and up to 3 acolytes.    I make no accusations, but delete your copy, clear your cache, and redownload.  I think that the power weapon thing was from a leaked version, as the few times ive seen them, it had the adepta sororitas back cover.

Sisters could originally take any Power Weapon on them but with the updates for 7th they lost that.

I missed that, now for some ideas of Priests with something other than a sword :)

Power Maul tends to be the best. S5 helps him deal wounds more regularly.

For two meltabombs in points more instead of a power weapon you could add another priest and give him smash. I never realized the priest was a character. Good for challenges.

Yeah, you are probably going to get more mileage out of a second priest with smash than giving a lone priest a power maul or axe. I've found that a priest with smash can be surprisingly good -- I've only used this when the rest of the squad is dead and the priest is the last man standing, no one to buff, and he'd been able to take down some fairly tough stuff with that smash attack.

The problem with getting a priest to smash is reliably getting their powers off. If you want that allying them from the Sisters codex for the relic that auto passes the Hymns check is better than taking them plain.

Oh, really? I thought all Ld tests were taken on the leadership of the highest Ld model in the squad. That's the way it's been played locally, although in all honesty I'm the only guy who plays Inquisition so people have just by default accepted my interpretation. I just assumed it was like Astra Militarum orders which go off the sergeant's (or an attached commissar's) leadership.

The difference is that with Guard orders it's a unit taking the test while with the Priest it's just the model taking the test. Since individual Psykers test on their own leadership for Perils the common interpretation is that models with abilities that require that model to pass a test on their own must do the same.

Yeah, even the guard priests have to test on their leadership. I haven't really had them fail many though, even with their low ld.

On the otherhand I saw them fail a LOT recently. That leadership is one of those things that can swing violently either way on you because of where theirs is.

21 out of 36 chance (58.33%) of passing the Ldhsp test, slightly better than a 4+. So should pass more often than fail.

I have a set of precision machined aluminum dice from Amber Rix, when she did a kickstarter.  Costly, but beautiful, tough, and machined to perfection.  My friend has a set of tungsten dice, and those things are heavy.
