Dark Souls in 40K

Gentlemen and Ladies of the B&C, long time, no post.

I have popped this in here as this is a hybrid DIY/Rules query, but if I am in mistake, I would kindly ask a Moderati to move it.

I have recently been thrashing the Warp out of the Dark Souls Franchise and have a sudden urge to translate a force of knights into the Grim Dark setting.  The problem I am having is that I would like to kit them out virtually identically to their inspiration: The Knights of Berenike.

At first glance I would say that a Dark Angels Successor, using that Codex would be the best bet, but I am unsure of the build (as DA are new to me) as I am not very keen on Belial and am unsure if a DA Company master can take a Storm Shield and TDA - which leads me to my next point and thus heart of the quandary;

C:SM seems to be able to fit the Captain of the unit, I can build a good looking Black Iron Tarkus with the Shield Eternal and trimmings, but would not know who to use as the father Chapter, with the Chapter Tactics.  Am leaning towards Black Templars but I am not certain as I cannot arm the Terminators with Maces - which the DA have and I really, really want them to look like the Berenike chaps and not just model maces that count as Thunderhammers...argh.

I have had a trawl around the forums and can't quite see what I want, so thought I would post it and get direct feedback.

So, TL;DR I want a rock solid beat-stick Tarkus and a whole heap of knights with maces that can have a cracking IA and a tabletop presence.

Can anyone chime in or give a steer?

MR.

*Clears his throat* If I was to approach this I'd consider Gwyn's knights as a kind of Grey Knights/Blood Angels chapter. Swords, axes, pole arms and shields shouldn't be a problem to incorporate. And you could give them a deamon hunter history or maintain the Blood Angels hatred of deamons.

You know, I never considered those options, hmm, may be some potential there.  Will hit this idea with some brain power.

Actually, now thinking about it, Grey Knights can manifest psychic powers, in a similar way to say...*ahem* Miracles....

Thanks Rime, Praise the Sun!  I mean, er Emperor. :p

In a most unoriginal fashion, I called my chapter's "Mephiston" Arakiel the Abyss Walker.  Blue-black abyssal darkness consumes his surroundings with each step.

I've always found the dark souls motifs work better for the average Imperial dudesman.  This weak, frail, pitiful human struggling against powers greater than he.  Anyway, perhaps an Imperial fists count-as chapter would work best.  You could use the giant slab of manliness, Lysander as Tarkus.
