Looking good I like the marines on the tank.

I will post pics of it when I'm back at home, I'm away at the moment. I commissioned mine as I have an extreme allergy to good old super glue. I can do plastics the the plastic cements but the resins are too tricky without the trusty super glue. So I have no assembly advice.

As for play I've found it works pretty much as advertised. I have only fielded it twice, but both times it was a great delivery system for wulfen and a dread. The becoming a ruin thing also worked out once and that was pretty fun. The anti flyer gun is quite good at dropping fliers. Struggled a bit with the he'll drake, bloody demon engine 5++, but all in all it's a convenient secondary weapon.

I haven't settled on full tactics yet myself but tac 8tg locally it seems to function like a more impressive (durability wise) land raider. The redeemer varient is a good analogue. Keep it out of melee if possible (bloody khorne charge out of deepstrike got me in trouble) as the void shields are a great boon and losing them sucks.

I will remember that about combat.

Watched a 30K batrep with Iron Hands using a Mastodon and the ram went badly, and left it at the mercy of Vorax.

Also just put a big order in, so fingers crossed I can get my army done, minus the slayers deathsworn, destroyers and varagyr

So the Mastodon has been put aside for now as I am working offshore and it is a bit delicate and chunky to carry out here.

So back to the finished and half done stuff.

I did these guys for last years ETL, but I have been really unhappy with how I did tem as I went for speed and not my usual paint style on them. Plus Iwas holding off on squad markings etc to see what would come from Inferno.

Well there was precious little in there for Legion squads, which means I get to make my own up.

I am re-doing all the metallics and will probably re-do the armour on them all. For now they need an identity.

And as there is nothing in the book for Seeker markings. I have opted to use runes to denote them. I have used a red stripe behind it, but I am not sure if I am liking it, thinking to maybe make it a little thinner, or get rid, as I am getting nervy about a red overload on the models.

And with a wee bit of tidying up, this is more like how they should be.

It is a binding Rune, the mark of the hunter, which seemed appropriate. From my limited research it is a combination of runes, which in a circle of text you right down who or what you want to find... The more specific hte better, and when done mark with crosses either side to bind the rune. I am not going to that extent, but I like the idea behind it and sits quite well with the "marked for death" rule that they have.

Will try to find something similar for the second seeker squad.

Thoughts on the markings??

I'm impressed you made the effort to research Norse runes and to use ones with the appropriate meaning. (As someone of Chinese descent, it's extremely frustrating when non-Chinese abuse Chinese words in a stupid attempt to look "cool," without understanding what the words actually mean.)

My wife would understand your frustration although half the time she gets a kick out of me accidentally mangling Mandarin (she is Chinese, and to my shame, my son is completely fluent in Mandarin where i have failed spectacularly).

Got metallics done and a red stripe to go under the legion symbol. I thinned it down as I plan to add very thin red stripes either side.

I also took the decision to repaint the armour as it was getting messy. First coat down, will start highlighting tomorrow when my eyes are working properly

The monitor glare in the last pic of the post above kinda reduces from the detail the other pictures seem to exemplify within said pictures.

The detail and paint job looks amazing; I cannot paint yet, however, if you figure out what to do with the left shoulderpad, should you feel the need to, they already look like a unit. Some Great Company mark on the left pad, no matter how simple I think would greatly aid the appearance.

All that said, it's your army; if you think your guys are done, I'd say they look just fine as is, if you don't care about further markings or a GC symbol.

Karack, they are far from done :smile.:

I have blocked the armour in because I made a mess of it when doing the metallics.

I also painted over the legion insignia on the left shoulderpad. The reason for it was because I had serious doubts as to whether I could add the red striping without obliterating the decal already there. Do nt worry though, I will be putting the legion markings back on.

And I will get the armour done over the next few days with a few bits and pices to make each guy a bit individual :smile.:

Almost there, need to finish up the grey highlights, sort the kneepads and ten do some weathering :)

Combi-weapons are awesome, and set to be much better in 8th.

Okay, so I am about finished with my Seekers, trying to think of a suitable name for them, so far they are the Jackal-Wolves.... Warriors os of Fimbulvetr, they work alone from the main body of the Wolvs forces. The Jackal Wolves are used as Hvarl's eyes and ears, creeping forward along with the recon marines and vigilators to spy out weak points & exploit them to the fullest. Many wear pict-cams... To feed data back to command but also to verify thei kills, as they are tasked with assassinating the toughest of targets.

I put the heavy bolters on as I figured n 8th this thing could seriously lay down some firepower with 10 shots off of the nose cannon plus 4 rockets and potentially another 24 HB shots.

However is the reduced volume of fire but higher strength better?

Got my first game of 8th in on Friday,

Just went for a basic kill the opponent style game power level set to 75 (Dave let me go to 76).

2 x 2 table with 9" deployment zones.

This was my force, wanted to try some stuff which I had never really used before. Led by Krom.

This was the battlefield.

Communications from the agri-world Rosemount 6 had been lost and the Wolves under Krom had been dispatched to investigate.

Most of the settlements seemed untouched as were the surrounding countryside, however any signs of the planets occupants were absent.

Uncertain of the situation Krom led one of his advanced scouting parties to investigate on of the provincial towns.

With Kára circling overhead, the Wolves separated and entered the hamlet from multiple points. Krom aboard Herja on the far flank accompanied b the grey hunters

Turn 1

Kara leapt forward with to face the foe

Kara unloaded 4 lascannon shots 10 avenger bolt cannon shots and 24 Heavy bolter rounds into the destroyer lord and his coterie. Managed to kill off 2 and wound another.

Herja also opened up and took wounds off of the monolith

And th cavalry braved the incoming fire of the monolith to get in a turn 1 charge!!

The end of the turn saw the destroyers fail morale and flee the board. First blood to me plus a pesky resurrection orb gone!!

Necron turn 1

Seeing the Fire Raptor as the primary threat both the monolith and the flying croissant seek to engage.

After enduring the firepower of both plus the rapid firing warriors, Kara is stripped of 11 from 16 wounds.

The croissant then charges the Fire Raptor and take 10 wounds (6 from a lascannon.shot) and both sides do nada in close combat.

Wolves turn 2

The embattled Kara retreats to the outskirts of the hamlet and hovers in order to return fire on the necron flyer.

While the Rhino unloads the Blood Claws, ready to charge the necron warrior squad and Herja disgorges Krom and the Hunters to take on the warriors and immortals n the far side of town, while the TWC mve in on he monolith again

Despite needing 5's to hit, due to wounds sustained, Kara's punishing levels of firepower manage to take down the opposing necron flier, while the Achilles and the TWC manage to knock some more wounds from the monolith.
