Very nice army.

What's that guy carrying - in the last pic, the gun with the blast shield, what in the exact heck is that? Is it some kind of flamethrower? Looted xenos tech? It looks pretty great, whatever it is.

FW Renegade body with this: http://www.anvilindustry.co.uk/The-Armoury/Specialist-and-Energy-Weapons/Flame-Acid-Cannon

I'm using him as a Flamethrower or Melta Acolyte.

And finished detailing my third Inquisition requisitioned / Taranis Knight (please excuse my messy workstation background):

Great stuff. 100 Storm Troopers wub.png

Feeling a bit of jealousy, but I'll be 1/2 way there without making any additional purchases once I finish painting. I love the Scions but they are a fairly annoying/time consuming model to paint. I can see why I lot of people go marines. I find my BA paint up WAY faster than my =][= stuff and that's even WITH the Lamenter-inspired chequy left shoulderpad!

Man thats impressive!

My question for you is, do you use all these in a normal 40k game, or do they join battles in Apocalypse only?

Why I ask is because Imperial Knights are really powerful, and I can't really see many normal 40k armies tearing them down. The one thing I can see is locking them in close combat with some less important units.

I've used up to 3 Knights, with Vets and Gunships in 2K games:

+ Space Wolves Arjac and Shield Brothers once killed all 3 Knights over 3 consecutive turns

+ Also I always lose all Knights and Gunships to Tyranid Flying Circus equipped with Haywire

+ I've also had Orks tarpit my Knights for 2 / 3 turns

The thing is, Knights are devastating if your opponent isn't expecting them but I use them so much that my regular playing buddies have become so good at taking them down fast.

See the Storm Trooper battle summary link in my sig - I have a short write up somewhere in that thread with 2 Knights and Scions vs Deldar. I lost.

Yeah, I'm struggling with the bases.

I have this OCD where I can't stand it if my base doesn't match the table. Like if I have sand and the table is green, etc.

So I'm not sure what to do.

Am open to suggestions short of bringing my own boards everywhere lol.

Besides putting everything on clear acrylic bases I think you'll run into that problem no matter what you do :)

Kilo, your work is inspiring.

I'm fairly new to 40k and chose to start by building a Grey Knights army. I picked it because I loved the look of the GK models (except the baby bjorn Dreadknight), plus the wide-open modelling possibilities for the Henchmen. At first I was furious with GW for pulling the Inq out of the new GK Codex, but I did my best to build some GK-only lists. Unfortunately, it was frustrating and rather boring, given how limited the rational choices are. Now I am back to working on Inq as allies, and your pix are truly inspiring.

Question: How well do your counts-as Dreadknights work out? As indicated above, I'm not a big fan of the DK model and I've been hunting for alternatives and/or conversions. Do your substitutes get a good reception, or do they bring complaints (not WYSIWYG, height differences, etc) from opponents?
