As usual i've been avoiding my ETL vow, simple because I 'should' be painting it, I immediately don't want to :sad.:. But I did finish up my storm raven's wings yesterday and stuck her together. Today I did make a little more progress on the ETL, and had to restrain myself from starting a new devastator squad (hoping to keep them for my next vow).

Clean and sharp painting Brother Angelus! I think some weathering would add to it nicely. Do you use an airbrush at all? If so I'd recommend spraying some Devlan Mud in streaks across the wings as a start. You could also sponge on some dark brown followed by some medium silver around the edges to represent chipped paint.

Greetings cousins! I pretty much only paint Night Lords and as such never have much reason to post in this part of the forum, I did however 'experiment' a little this week and put a Heresy era marine together. Pretty much on a whim I painted him as a son of Sanguinius and got pretty pleased with the result. In the distant future I might even start a 30k force for the IXth Legion. However, as this is the first Blood Angel I've ever painted I'm a bit curious what you think about it, so if you have any c&c just hit me with it. :smile.:

I already know that the highlights could be a bit more distinct but that is partly to blame on my handling of the camera.

Looks Great. I'm Painting my own 30k BA Force. Whats your Process for that Red?

Cheers guys, glad to hear I'm doing things right. :smile.:

When it comes to the red...  It's a black undercoat with thin layers of Khorne Red followed by Blood Red, Evil Sunz Scarlet, Evil Suns + Blazing Orange and Blazing Orange on it's own. And a few strategic washes of either Lahmian Medium + Baal Red or Lahmian Medium + Seraphim Sepia whenever I felt that I needed to tone things down or try to bring things together. There are probably much easier ways to get the same effect but I was experimenting as I went along.

More Blood Angels will have to wait though as I have plenty of Night Lords to paint first and there are no Blood Angel parts released for 30K yet.

First layer of top coat finished on my Sanguinary Guard. Now for inking the recesses and then the second coat...

Meanwhile, I was looking a the banner and thinking how I've got no idea how to paint it. For those that have bothered (or painting any other BA banner), how did you go about doing yours?

I freehanded mine as I wanted something for my DIY Chapter:

Hey guys!

I'm in the process of converting my Deredeo and thought I'd share some wips!

The main inspiration for this came from the 'robocop' series 209 drone, and the idea that it would look a lot faster/meaner with double jointed legs. Nothing apart from the main leg construction is final yet. Still loads of details to add. Lemme know what you think! :P

Looks good so far! I don't suppose you'd consider painting that as your ETL vow for the BA forum? :whistling::wink:

Mephiston MKII is done, painted by me for a fellow B&C Battle Brother (model made by masteroftheforge.com).

Begun too early for the ETL...
