Folks, what size magnets are you using for back packs please? Think the 2 x 1 mm that I'm using is too small.

None so far... :D

Maybe I should tho once I get around building Assault Marines and Deathcompany. :P

3x1 works best, it just drops in to the hole in the jump-pack

++ It also helps if you get the hole lined up properly on the model too ;)

I did the Tycho twins the other day - still had a couple of bits to finish off when these were taken, but they're done now.

Might do something about the vampire teeth too, not a fan

Hey guys, quick question...

Some noob has completely clogged his airbrush. He didn't use air paints. He didn't thin his paints properly. The airbrushed is super clogged. He has completely disassembled said airbrush, now, what is the best way to clean everything out?

His Knight is almost done though..

I always use bio ethanol and an old toothbrush to strip paint. It goes really easy and it doesn't damage plastic at all. Haven't tried it with resin tho.

What kind of paint did you use? Most can be cleaned easily with Isopropyl Alcohol mixed with water. There are plenty of good airbrush cleaners out there... Vallejo, Medea and Paasche are good ones.

I'd suggest finding a youtube video because it is VERY easy to ruin a nozzle and/or needle during cleanup. I mostly use my beater cheap Masters airbrush now because my amazing Harder & Steenbeck has the most delicate nozzles (I buy them regularly ugh).

Right then. Who's going to take one for the team and convert a Librarian Contemptor from this:

https://www.forgeworld.co.uk/en-GB/Thousand-Sons-Legion-Osiron-Pattern-Contemptor-Dreadnought-2017?_requestid=4625695

For the fist, you'll need the separate power fist arm but that only comes with a storm bolter and heavy flamer option. The chain fist has the melta gun...

i could think of a lot easier places to start a libby Contemptor from, tbh. I'm not seeing that at all.

Would be a lot easier building up from the Calth dread, imho.

Perhaps, but you'd need to get a suitable force halberd. The Osiron pattern already comes with one and a psychic hood (don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it would be easy).

Gotcha, hadn't realised that was a force halberd, just thought it was a fancy ccw.

I suppose you could turn the scarabs into blood-drops, fills the heiroglyphics with GS and razorsaw the Illuminati symbol from the top...

;)

I love my Calth Contemptor, but there are things to take into account about it. It's plain, monopose, and would still require work to get it up to scratch. I suppose it's a cheaper starting point though.

And it's a Contemptor. :whistling:

I'm not entirely sure what your point is? People on here have been wanting to convert one for ages. I guess you either don't like Contemptors or you don't like FW (or both)?

Just joking.

I simply don't like the Contemptor pattern so that's an argument for me against getting one. :D

And yes I don't like FW stuff in general because I think the same models would be a lot better in plastic.

I magnetized mine, it was quite easy - razorsawed the "pelvis" away from the upper body, and separated the legs.

Added some plastic tube to the hip joints to move them out a bit and put a bit angle in the legs.

The BA symbol and banner cover up some of the detail that was lost in the sawing.

For the arms, the left arm is mounted centrally, as there's not a lot of weight in the fist and it doesn't drop down, but for the right arm I offset the magnet to the rear upper of the shoulder socket to avoid the weapon pointing at the ground all the time.
