Space Wolves by Adam - VI Legion Vlka Fenryka

Recommended Posts

Hehehe, yea, it came attached  And thanks for the kind words!

Anyway, I finished the Skyclaw, which I "speed"-painted (according to my standards of slow painting), by throwing away all unnecessary steps and using the air paints for the armour. You can see the WIPs in my other threads. This experiment will let me paint all the future wolfies a hell lot faster, while keeping the quality at a satisfying level, which was my goal from the beginning :smile.:

Hey Guys! And thanks LutherMax!

Anyway, I got some new minis from the Battle for Calth set, I really dig the new marine versions, and painted and almost vanilla marine in my Blood Claws livery. Next ones will be much more wolfed-up

Your wolves are inspiring! I was never a fan of the new wolves blue but I think your scheme and style really makes it work.

I am not sure if this has been asked but what do you use for the snow?

Wow, thanks! It always mean a lot to me when I see someone is inspired by my painting. Also, I notice there are quite a few people who say what you said about the wolves blue scheme, although I do not know why my version makes it work actually

As for the snow - I mix Vallejo Still Water with Army Painter Snow, and that's all. Very easy to apply too. Actually, I'm also not sure it has been asked, so there you go :smile.:

Hey Guys!

First Dreadnaught for my army finished! It's the FW pattern, really nice to paint actually. I am preparing the Brethren of the Fell-handed formation, and next up is Bjorn. Any CC are more than welcome!

Oh, and the cannon is magnetized, if anyone is concerned

Flint13 - thanks! The black was done the following way:

1. Imperial primer for the black

2. Highlights with Russ Grey Air/Fenrisian Grey Air (applied with a normal brush)

3. The lightest highlights - Ulthuan Grey.

Token - The fur is done like this:

1. Paint it all with Baneblade Brown

2. Paint the lighter parts Karak Stone

3. Wash everything with Seraphim Sepia

4. Wash darker parts with Reiksland Fleshshade, then darkest with Agrax Earthshade

5. Drybrush darker fur with Baneblade, Lighter with karak Stone, and eventually the lightest with Ushabti Bone.

Hey Guys!

Bjorn is finished! (although not entirely true, as only after making the pics I discovered he has some details on the back still unfinished ) Anyway, I did 2 versions of pics, with and without added light, and I couldn't decide which I prefer, so I post both sets :tongue.:

Thanks for nice words guys, always keeping memotivated :smile.:

Anyway, I painted 4 Long Fangs (the LF Ancient is having his MK III armour in maintnance and will be joining the squad later on). It's the first time I used Citadel brushes (earlier normal model brushes), and I must say: Wow! Enormous difference for me in terms of speed and quality of painting. I also decided to simplify the paiting for regular guys, leaving all the bling and effects for any important figures of the army. Next will be 4 Blood Claws, with even more simplyfied paiting, they are almost finished so should arrive here in a couple of days.

C&C as always welcome :smile.:

Wow, simply WOW! You are an amazing painter and I envy your skills. Excellent, excellent work! I have never really liked the blue tint of GW's standard Space Wolves but you make it look amazing. Did I say "WOW" yet? because, WOW!

WOW, thank you for the very nice comment, looking at the level of many other painters here I am sure I don't quite deserve it.

Actually, many here say that part about not liking the regular GW blue gray, but liking this version. It's actually the GW paints (russ gray plus the fang), with watered down drakenhof nightshade on them, and regular fenrisian grey and white highlight. So I am not quite sure where this reaction comes from.

Huh, I always wondered what's the reason, as I don't think I do anything special, as I use the regular colors.

Anyway, 4 new pups join the pack, Blood Claws mustering for the Drakeslayers great company. I painted them using the least effort principle, meaning only color layering+wash+drybrush+edge higlight. Except for the yellow, only those techniques were used, and I'm quite satisfied with the result. C&C as always welcome :smile.:
