ok, finally got it to work. apparently my ipad cannot cope with image links. stupid machine.

Anyway, heres a first look at my entry, the Lacerator pattern Astartes tank.

gallery_62421_10142_398958.jpg

basically its a rhino. the top ad front plates are form a vindicator i wasn't using currently, the spnsons are from a stormraven (and if i can the bits, ill make some heavy bolter ones using stormwolf parts). the main gun is scratchbuilt. All in all I'm quite pleased with it, although theres plenty of tinkering time left yet.

comments and critique gratefully received.

Almost finished my Land Raider Infernus:

http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2014/11/9/662153_sm-WIP%20Fuel%20Trailer%20Left%20Side.JPG

Unlike the Malcador Infernus, I didn't want a wheeled fuel trailer and went for a shortened Land Raider Chassis instead. This was made from the remnants from my Spartan conversion (which I started 2 years ago and still haven't finished!!). The white plasticard was used to hide all the cut marks on the original Land Raider parts. The exhaust isn't stuck on yet as I want to paint yellow and black hazard stripes over the whole white plasticard area and painting around the exhausts would be difficult.

http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2014/11/9/662155_sm-WIP%20Fuel%20Trailer%20Top.JPG

This top view shows what I did with the Q-tip container. I added 2 bands of thin plasticard and some spaced rivets to make it realistic. I also added a top viewing hatch to allow access to the promethium fuel in the tank. You can also see the milliput I used to fill the gaps between the top and sides as there were lots of different holes that needed to be smoothed out.

http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2014/11/9/662154_sm-WIP%20Fuel%20Trailer%20Rear.JPG

This is the rear. I tried to make some cogs to go around the edge of the tank to emphasise the legions strong links with the Adeptus Mechanicus. A couple of spare parts were added as well to fill some of the plain plasticard chassis. The lights are on the back of this vehicle to prevent anyone driving into the back of it!

http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2014/11/9/662157_sm-WIP%20Fuel%20Trailer%20Front.JPG

This is the front. Again, I cut some cogs to go around the edge of the tank. Instead of the Adeptus Mechanisus logo, I added an Imperial Eagle instead.

http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2014/11/9/662156_sm-WIP%20Fuel%20Trailer%20Right%20Side.JPG

This shows the right side. To finish the building of this vehicle, I'm waiting for a Greenstuff tube maker coming over from Spain to add a large fuel hose, linking the tank to the Land Raider. I also need to make a way of attaching the towed tank to the Land Raider. I've added a magnet into the recess on the connector.

I've undercoated the Flak Land Raider and masked off some flames to go over part of the front of the vehicle. I've managed to spray the flames with an undercoat of white paint but the weather has been terrible recently and I haven't been able to get my airbrush out to spray the usual flame effects. I'm stocking up lots of different projects, painted to differing stages. Once I get painting, I try and get a number of projects to the same stage, so I finish a few at a time, rather than one at a time.

Till my next update, Brother Morgan.

Land Raider Infernus

Finished my Land Raider Infernus at last. I received my Greenstuff pipe maker from Spain last week and have been playing with it. Here are the results:

http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2014/11/21/665183_sm-Land%20Raider%20Infernus%20Completed%20Connections.JPG

I rolled out a large piece of milliput into a tube and once it had hardened slightly, I used the Greenstuff pipe maker to make a fuel hose. Once it was still flexible enough I bent the hose to fit the tank and the Land Raider. I have added magnets to both ends to aid in storage. The connector between the Land Raider and the fuel trailer was made from a cut down pen and a small ball of milliput to make it look like a tow hitch. Again, this is magnetised. I may add thinner pipes between the 2 vehicles later down the line.

Without further ado, final shots before I undercoat and start painting it:

Front

You can see I've added a skull to the front. This is temporarily stuck on with blu tack and will be removed whilst I paint it.

This was fun to make. I'm waiting for a break in the weather and will get this undercoated asap. I'm making good progress on the Flak tank in that the flames have been painted and varnished and when I get the time, I will black oil wash the vehicle before starting to weather it.

Regards, Brother Morgan.

OK, time for me to get a submission in. I had planned to do a little more work on it, adding a siege shield and other weapon options, but cashflow and the demands of a brace of toddlers suffer no interruptions.

I offer for your scrutinisation, with due apology for replicating an earlier wall of text, the Lacerator-pattern Infantry-suppression tank.

The Lacerator-pattern is a development of the more common rhino-hulled vindicator tank. It is not recorded which forge world first produced this variant or in what numbers, but what is certain is that by the later stages of the 41st millennium, it is a vanishingly rare sight on the battlefield. It is believed that no Lacerators have been built since the end of the great crusade, with those few relics that survive being cannibalised for parts to keep them running.
The vehicle appears to be a modification to the STC vindicator pattern whereby the ventrally mounted demolisher cannon is replaced with a high-speed rotary autocannon similar to that deployed on the Leman Russ Punisher used by the Astra Militarum. In addition, it is usual practice to fit sponsons equipped with either twin linked heavy bolters or multiple bolt gun arrays.
This vehicle uses massed firepower and an extreme rate of fire to carve apart enemy infantry formations and is especially effective in close cover where accuracy is less important than suppressing fire.
Unit: 1 "Lacerator" pattern tank. 140 points.
Type: Vehicle
BS Front Side Rear HP
4 13 11 10 3
Transport capacity: zero.
Wargear:
1 hull mounted Lacerator cannon.
Smoke launchers
1 pintle mounted storm bolter
Options:
May take a pair of side sponsons equipped with twin linked heavy bolters or hurricane bolters for 30 points.
May replace its storm bolter with a heavy flamer for free, or a multimelta for 10 points.
May take a siege shield for 10 points.
May take extra armour for 10 points.
Weapons: Range str ap type
Lacerator cannon. 24" 5 - Heavy 20
A single Lacerator may be taken as a Heavy Support choice by any space marine detachment. This includes Blood Angels, Dark Angels, Space Wolves, Grey Knights and any detachment using chapter tactics from Codex:Space Marines or the subsequently published Forge World chapter tactics list.
A single Lacerator may be taken as a Heavy Support choice by a detachment chosen from Codex:Chaos Space Marines with the following changes:
A Lacerator taken as part of a Chaos Space Marine detachment may not be equipped with hurricane bolter sponsons, and its pintle mounted storm bolter must be replaced with a combi-weapon as described in Codex: Chaos Space Marines. This combi-weapon may be replaced with a heavy flamer or multimelta as per the unit entry above.

The Field Shrine is complete. Some notes: I refuse to put on the tracks before painting them, so I've left them off here. :P I used bits from the city ruins sets, the bastion set, dreadnought bits, spare servo-skulls, and a razorback, obviously. I'm terrible at green stuff, but I think I got the gaps I wanted filled in.

Here you can see the exterior ladder the chaplain would use to mount the pulpit.

(I had to adjust the colour on this one, and I'm no expert at that)

My thought was there'd be some smaller reliquaries in the wall alcoves, tended by the servo-skulls. These would be related to the company the chaplain is with. The big one on the floor would be something important to the chapter, say a primarch's weapon, or section of armour.

My time management being what it is; I still need to do some gap filling and add some more DA Bling to it, oh and add the lights and fans to the front section - BUT the shape and concept is complete.  Appreciate any feedback :)

Peace out!

Dark Rage,

I'm actually doing something similar to the engine block on a current crusader I'm working on-- would you mind posting some alternate shots of the engine? I'd like to see how you filled out the steeple arches.

Wonderful conversions all around guys!

Wow. This thread is packed full of all kinds of win.

Loving the pipework and techno-gubbins (a technical term) on the roof of the conspirator, the field shrine is quirky and thematic, the big fan wings on the raven-on-steroids are tremendous.

Add in all the stuff people completed earlier too, and I'm glad its not me trying to pick a winner. biggrin.png
