I did not no. I just glued the current head in and left it at that. I'd never swap and change, and I plan on using it for a conversion some time down the line I think. :D

Fair enough. I've been thinking of using it on the FW Guilliman, when I eventually buy that.

I have recently (foolishly) agreed to take part in the Tale of Warlords event that is occurring in White Dwarf. I chose to restart my Ultramarines! This was for two reasons. One - Guilleman. Enough said. Two - They are pretty easy to paint.  This means I can churn them out at a reasonable speed and the new models can replace my very very old ones! :biggrin.:

Another one finished!

I should really have painted the plasma gun's coils green as opposed to teal. But too late now!

I need to clean the legs up, bit of brown got on there whilst basing, but I will do that on all the models when they are finished.

That's three done!

Face was easy!

Cadian fleshtone. Two thin layers.

Then riekland. The keep highlighting it up with cadian and adding screaming skull to the mix for a few layers until you get to pure screaming skull. Obviously you decrease the amount you highlight the lighter the colour.

Hair is also easy (I reckon!).

Get skrag brown, and add as much black to it as you like. I know this sounds weird, but for this guy I wanted a fairly dark brown for his hair, so I had a mixture of about 80/20 black to brown. Quite dark.

I then watered it down a lot. So it's pretty much a wash, I then stippled the area of his head and face where i wanted the stubble. You need to do this lightly, you don't want to go made, you are just creating the shape of the hair.

After that, add some cadian fleshtone to the dark drown mixture. And again, just dapple the watered down paint over the previous dark layer. Keep doing this till you are happy.

I personally do a final glaze/dapple of pure cadian fleshtone over it. This is super watered down, but it ties the hair together with the scalp. Job done! :D

Also nearly finished the last four.

I realise the guns just being painted silver is lazy, but time is of the essence!
