@ Sepsis: Ohh, does that Termie Lord use the Helbrute head and headcrest? What a clever idea!

@ Nehekhare: Congratulations, man! That is quite an achievement!

Meanwhile, I have only managed to complete the first part of my vow so far, but it's admittedly one that I am really rather happy with:

Excellent use of parts on the EC marines there Sepsis. Nice to see some classic chaos backpacks.

Classic parts are the best bitz.

I managed to acquire the chaos backpacks from the original Space Hulk!

Chaos Marines were never in Space Hulk. Think you mean Space Crusade ;)

@ KrautScientist

It is yes, good spot, especially considering that it isn't the greatest picture of the Warsmith! I had two Dark Vengence Helbrutes so why not chop one of them up. I thought that it would be a good way to give him an intimidating stature, whilst keeping with the new Chaos marine ascetic.

I have finally completed building all of my pledges! Horah!!! All I gotta do now is paint them... I think I need to get a move on, otherwise the 'mark of the lost' awaits me! Here are my WIP shots.

Those noise marines look really cool. But dude. Duuuuude.... dat Lucius Conversion... wow... WOW!!!! I absolutely hate, nay I detest the original GW lucius miniature. To me, it represents everything GW was doing wrong with space marines in the early 2000's: static, inspirationless fads. Which was such an absolute pity, given that Lucius has such an awesome background in both the HH novels and in the codex fluff. You've finally given this special character a model that does justice to his fluff. Awesome, awesome work man. I have one teeny tiny nitpick: I don't think you should use that right shoulder pad on him, because the chain mail hangs in an unnatural angle compared to the model's pose. If you switch it with the shoulder pad of the left-most mini I think that would benefit both models! thumbsup.gif

That's an absolutely killer squad. Can't wait to see those painted.

My current WIP are these Obliterators, blocking the colours out currently:

Yay. The bolts in my lamps have finally given up and threaded. No amount of Lego is going to keep those in place to be useable. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr (is not the words that spring to mind but I'll keep rose out of this post) :(

Ductape. Coffee stirers and greenstuff. If the A-Team can make a bullet prof working tank out of a table tennis table, stale bagel, shopping cart, nerf gun and a pinata then I'm sure you can mekboy your lamp.

By my Warmasters command...

I Scribe of Khorne, answer the Call of Chaos and vow to reinforce the Black Legion with a Sicaran Battle Tank, before January 15th 2015. If I do this successfully I will receive the Mark of Pustulant Glory and continue on the path to ruin. I will not fail the Warmaster...

You can see the Sicaran dominating the central position of the group shot. (Disregard the fact that nothing has been painted since this was taken....)

Hi guys, this'll be the WIP pic of my 6th and final Call of Chaos VII entry, the Chaos Lord.

As you see, it's not a Chaos Lord with Lightning Claws. I initially hoped that with the rumors of Konrad Curze coming out around christmas, I could vow my Legion's primarch. But time is running out and I received a package with my prize of winning third place at a Night lords HQ painting competition over at Facebook. It's made by a sculptor, who has begun mass producing 40K compatible bits for Night lords. It's not a true terminator but can easily stand in for one. So I'm entering this guy: a terminator Lord with the Axe of blind Fury and the Burning Brand of Skalathrax (gotta change the bolter muzzles with that of a flamer msn-wink.gif). So he won't have dual LCs like I initially vowed, but he still is an awesome Chaos Lord!!

Here's the WIP shot of the unassembled mini.

Here's the Pics of the assembled but unpainted miniature here.

Tiny bit of progress - block coloured the base, skintone looking good. Next step is to neaten up any bits of trim before washing and detailing as appropriate.

And although not for the CoC, I got out my little Contemptor family - thought I'd share:

Chaeron, six Contemptors?! You really like that model, huh?

Some progress from painting at work:

Biker screens pre-gloss varnish.
First one: maneuvering toward a target blip.
gallery_63428_9407_1095.jpg
Second one: reading incoming orders.
gallery_63428_9407_34886.jpg
Third one:...playing Pong.
gallery_63428_9407_15110.jpg
And post-gloss:
med_gallery_63428_9407_69225.jpg
Still to do: erm..quite a bit.

Meanwhile at home I'm painting noise marines. One squad is about 10% done, the second 40% done, with one member 90% done:
Pardon the terrible quick shot

Yeah, I really do - it sort of spiraled out of control though...

Have to say, your work is immense. Again, those shades, just beautiful. The closeup freehand? That's serious talent - beautiful to see. Love the subtle differences between each bike too.

@ Chaerron: those oblits are looking great man, you're actually making something out of those GW models. Also: SIX contemptors? I thought I was crazy....

@Kierdale: Those bikes are looking so great, man. And that NM! Wow! Also: he pong detail is hilarious!

Thanks all!

The freehand's okay but I want to get it finer, and properly highlight/shade it in future. Tighter patterns, more colours.

Perhaps on the second NM squad, time permitting.

@ kierdale - gorgeous work buddy!

Not going to lie, I totallt thought the second bike had a game of Galaga going on-screen ^_^

Not a bad idea, that ;)

If I'd gone with black screens there would have been more options. Space Invaders, Tetris, Asteroids, Defender, Missile Attack(?)...

Perhaps on a second bike squad. Or a techie piece of terrain...

Fantastic work all round guys - some exceptional models here... I mean where to start?

@ Lucio: Great - I have updated the first page accordingly

@ Sepsis: Promising start there mate - good luck with it! smile.png And let me add my voice to the rest about the spot on representation of Lucius!

@ Nehekhare: Fantastic work mate! The Archmagos in particular... very impressive!

@ Kraut Scientist: Now this is a great, great Khan... That skin tone in particular... wow...

@ Chaeron: Looks great mate - you are a master of burned orange! laugh.png

@ Scribe of Khorne: Welcome aboard! I sure look forward for that Sicaran and whatever else you can throw our way...

@ Teku: Plague Drones huh? Better you than me mate, better you than me! hahaha!

@ Augustus: Yeah! The overall quality of your work has set the expectations REALLY high on this one. Make us all proud! yes.gif

@ Kierdale: This is sooooo Slaanesh... And the technical result is amazing - I always get intimidated by chequers but those are just too much... Beautiful contrast (mauve & purple? wow!)

So next update will be in a week's time, as we will be entering the last month of this most successful Call of Chaos today! So speed up because time is running out!

UPDATED TO THIS POINT!
