Jud's Horus Heresy era Ultramarines

The Pounder

Recommended Posts

Hello! I'm Jud, I've been in the hobby for a long time. I had a hiatus during my late teens

and early 20's then I happened to see the Death Korps of Krieg and I was sucked back in!

I now have just over 5000pts of the Krieg, so thought I'd start something new.

I've been reading the Horus Heresy novels from Black Library, the latest 2 I've read are

Mark of Calth and Unremembered Empire. I really enjoyed both.

I've started Ultramarines before I love Classical Era history, so Ultramarines tick all the boxes!

I'm really going to try and bring out that Roman/Greek feel.

I know these aren't from Forgeworld but it's a start!

Anyhow here's the pics

Thanks for the reply and positive feedback.

I am using the GW shoulder pads.

The helmet is from the Emperor's Childern Palatine Blades set.

For the gold, I use Citadel paint range, I start with Warplock Bronze, then Hashut Copper,

then Gehenna Gold, a Reikland Fleshshade Wash, Gehenna Gold again, line highlight

Sycorax Bronze and finally Runefang Steel to finish.

Hope that helps.

Back again! Finally gathered enough bitz to make an Assault Squad Sergeant.

As with all my Ultramarines I'm mixing bitz from all over the place.

Hope you like the progress so far!

This'll probably be my last update before Christmas, let me know what you think of my progress.

All the best

Thanks!

I'm really enjoying this project!

I've always loved Classical era history so this has fed into that.

My previous army (Death Korps of Krieg) was very gritty and

weathered, the Ultramarines in contrast are very neat and clean.

I'll be adding more at Christmas.

OK, I've finished my first tactical squad, I'm waiting to see which

way the wind blows as far as GW making 30k stuff before adding

more.

Please let me know what you think, I need to know if I'm on the

right track, as I'm new to power armour.

Thanks brothers!

I'm going to build up some more using kits from GW next.

The all out FW option is just too ruinously expensive!

The shield is an omega shield, I bought 3 from ebay,

I think they were from a firm called scibor.

Again thanks for the feedback, I'll post some more pics

once I've made some progress.
