Destroyers

I feel like I have to be missing something with these guys. It talks about how they use poison or radiation weapons and stuff, but are they just simple dual bolt pistol marines with the option for jump packs? I'm not seeing anything about special ammunition or special rules. Can someone tell what I'm not understanding about these guys?

At school right now, can't verify. They might also be in Massacre for all I know...I get sometimes get the units from book 2 as having been introduced in book 1. Doesn't help that I have both small books which means I can avoid looking up the entries themselves in the books.

I highly doubt they're in extermination though.

Thanks all, for the quick responses. Yeah looking back over those things they do have more rad stuff than I thought before, I guess I just expected more from them than just grenades and a missile launcher or two, but that would be a ton of points. Anyone find them useful for stuff other than ablative wounds for a consul?

Phosphex is not a joke, either. I take as much as I can, because you can literally change an entire battlefield and it's dynamic with one Moritat with jumpack, careful placement, and a little luck.

Devastating stuff.

I can see them being really good with Hit&run and just going around rad 'nading squads or dropping phospex as Heathens said. Behold general -1T to units and ever-burning fire everywhere!

I'm thinking about putting a unit inside a Darkwwing for a Planetstrike list with a Siege Breaker attached. Equipped with Phosphex on the Sarg and Breaker along with the ML w/RM. They pop on down in the the DW jump out, double-phosphex something and rinse/repeat. Alternatively I can replace the Breaker with a Vigilator in Scout Armor for Move Through Cover and

DG Destroyers are pretty good too with the RoW that grants them Move Through Cover so they can ignore the Lingering Death.
