Grey Knights of the 3rd Brotherhood

I've been speed painting some grey knights for a campaign at our local gaming club. It's an escalation camapaign starting at 500 points and raising 250 each month (shouldn't be too hard with Grey Knights!)

In stark contract to my other projects, the plan with these is to only play with painted models for this army to spur me on to actually paint them, and to concentrate on speed wherever possible (including using resin beases instead of making my own, not spending an age on conversions etc) and I want to keep up with the campaign so I needed something faster and a bit more 'rough and ready' than my usual standard. Hopefully, this will give me a painted army but still leave me with enough time to spend on my Horus Heresy Imperial Fists to get them done properly in between bouts of silver!

Finished off the terminator squad and Librarian Epistolery-Brother Arcturas Nohlan

Super sexy power weapons. wub.png

Pretty good all around really, but on the Nemesis' cod piece, it looks like either you missed a spot with wash, or the brush slipped while highlighting.

I'm not so sure about that Nemesis conversion, though. It's better than the stock model, but to me leaving the head still leaves it looking silly. I'm not huge on dreadnought heads to begin with, but with the scale so large on this model, the solid slab-faces of yesteryear would look better than the tiny head, I think.

Thanks guys!

Finished up another unit for them this weekend. A 'Broadsword Pattern' Storm Raven interdiction craft. (Full Credit to Brother Candleshoes for the inspiration for the conversion). It's equipped correctly for a storm raven (I even made sure to put the magna grapple on the rear) so hopefully players won't have a problem with the conversion in games.

I've now wrapped up the paladins for the army as well. When I was building them (before I decided to speed paint the army to get it on the table) I had intended each of them to look like they could be the HQ choice in another army. Likewise, their high station is represented with the standard termi shoulder pads allowing them to display their own heraldry much larger than normal GK in place of the chapter symbol (symbolic of them being removed from the normal Brotherhood command structure?)

So from Left to Right we have:
Ser Davrith
Ser Psymonn
Ser Xisor
Ser Wohlsten
Ser Charrd

These are "speed painting"? Well they're fantastic. Can't wait to see your next 250 points

Rookie question, but where do those bases come from?

Thanks :-D

The bases are from fantascapes. They used to be on eBay but I think you need to order from the site directly nowadays
