How Many Sisters are Too Many

Recommended Posts

This begs the question, where do i draw the line.

As it stands I have a larger sister force than most but I want to be able to field any force I wish at the drop of a hat, I still have a few things I'm after, for instance another Canoness, 8 More Penitent Engines (want to field a full 9), 20 Sister Repentia and another 4 heavy Bolters.

In Addition I was thinking of Adding another Repressor or 2 (have 1 atm).

With the reprssor being out of stock (which i hope to god does not mean OOP I am having to look at ebay lots.

Only one with a Reprssor will set me back £400 for total force which has the followin copied from the listing.

1x Converted Cannoness with Steam-Punk wings and an Evisorator
5x Seraphim
2x Seraphim with handflamers
1x Veteran Seraphim
24x Sisters of Battle with Bolters
2x Veteran sisters with Bolt pistols
3x Storm Bolters
3x Flamers
4x Meltaguns
4x Heavy Flamers
1x Eversor Assassin
4x Sister Superiors (unique character models with minor conversions)
1x Sister with Standard

3x Sisters of Battle Rhinos
2x Exorcists
1x Forge World Repressor with Forge World Sister of Battle Doors and Armor Plates

I however Already Have the following:

1 Repressor
2 Exorcists
6 Immolators
1 Avenger Strike Fighter

1 Priest
1 Jacobus
1 Celestine

6 Flamers
5 Heavy Flamers
16 Seraphim With 2 Different Superiors
4 Seraphim with Duel Hand Flamers
12 Melta Guns
4 Multi Meltas
4 Heavy Bolters
10 Superiors
1 Banner Bearer
1 Sister Hosplar
1 Diologus
2 Siculacrum
50 Sisters of Battle With Bolt Guns (I don't like storm Bolters)

So this to me begs the question.
How much is too much?

I can field in honest in pure sisters about 2400 Points inside a regular force organisation in my regular army so do I stop here or do i build towards a sister apoc sized force?
After all I do have a sexy new cabinet to field it in and I like the idea of being able to field a converted Cathedral style titan with ramparts and sisters filling the walkways with the pure horrific power of the god Emperors church.

Then help with ideas damn it.

I have got a long way to go, conversions and scratch builds are on the horizon.

So if I'm going to something to this scale i need serious food for thought.

Here is the majority of my current sitting in a corner unit, the unit does obscure it a bit though due to its shape, maybe should of turned its lights on as well first.

What kinds of ideas are you struggling with?

Anyway, Sisters are always in demand. If you get the big bulk order, you can always break it up and sell on the bits that are extraneous to your purposes.

Don't stop, thats a nice start so far, me i have an army of SoB, larger than a company already. I agree, build it up with a Super Heavy, Macadore, of Baneblade that they were rewarded with for saving a whole planet from death etc.

I have a Imperial Knight allied with icons for my SoB and adding a Reaver Titan too

An Adepta Sororitas army isn't complete until you rock a Macharius Vulcan in your Order's livery.

Or three macharius's. The vulcan, the infernus, and the... is there one with a magna-melta on it?

Or another super-heavy. You could get a Titan! I'm thinking of doing a Knight in my Order's colors, eventually.

Problem I am having is deciding what is required of the force?

You see I'm keen to have sisters as my main force and though it s a blind hope if I have a huge investment in metal models and then they brought out plastics I may pass out in rage.

As it stands i can field somewhere in the region of 2.5k to 3k.

So I wonder if I was to Apocalypse size the force would 5k be sufficient?

Odds are I would have them fielded with a Titan detachment.

Also this raises the question are sisters even viable at Apocalypse?... I don't really play the system but if I did I am not 100% they even have formations open to them.

Afterall we do get screwed an awful lot for an army Celibate nuns. tongue.png

Nice on the Knight.

I have 3 sitting to be painted still.

Kind of spread between forces but sisters will happily welcome them. smile.png

Just bought another repressor as well, £57 with postage but need at least 2.

WTH is that monster!?

Does not really look Sistersy but by god I want one. tongue.png

What sort of rules would I be looking at with that tank so i can consider the addition?

You're looking at a doubled-up Avenger Bolt Cannon on a fairly fragile (for a super-heavy) chassis that mostly survives by awesome (if you're shooting at MEq in the open) firepower and looking really awesome.

Sisters have two apocalypse formations available, one with Repentia, one with Immolators.

We are viable at that points level, although not as overwhelmingly broken as we are below 1k. The main problem is the sheer number of models we need.

I thought the Seraphim/Celestine one was apoc as well. I don't have my book in front of me....

The Vulcan Macharius is not a doubled up Avenger Bolt Cannon, it's a Vulcan Mega Bolter.  Hence the name.

Yes, but stat wise, it's the same. Or rather, the ABC is half a Vulcan, since the VMB came first.

Grendal - you might be right, I haven't played with the formations.

Sisters can be very fun in apoc games. Being able to walk a vast number of cover ignoring melta guns in on your opponents board edge by using flank march is priceless.

Also, I'd recommend getting a stormlord and filling it with Repentia and battle conclaves to assault out of it.

These can be fun too:

Sisters Titan

Was just wondering with being allowed a LOW if i could sneak one into a 40k game?

Never seen the formations, truth be told I have a tonne of painting to do to get what I have done but in time I will.

Think we all got that reference. :P

Currently Bidding on another 80 foot sisters to help bulk out my force, makes me think I may need more tanks however.

I just Really am not a fan of rhinos but it looks like I may need some either way. :P

... I didn't?

Hitch-Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy;

Deep Thought: "The answer to life, the universe, and everything is..."

Vroomfondle: "yes?"

D.T.: "Is..."

Magikthise: "Yes..?"

D.T.: "... do I really have to say it?"

Both philosophers: "Yes!"

D.T.: "... forty-two."

Magikthise: "What."
