You'll find that one of the pieces of advice you'll get around here is that a Praetor is not worth it at anything under 1500-2000 points. And if I manage to post this before Slipstreams, then let me be the one to tell you that if you go for any Consul, fluffy or not, the Primus Medicae is rarely a bad choice.

Also, 28 points spare?

You didn't Leonite :P Its just that I didn't have time to write anything up.

And well, yeah, Preators...Leonite's got the gist of it, really. They're a one dimensional beatstick character that lets you take a RoW. Not the most points-efficient or flexible HQ in low point games when compared to a Consul. Also, taking a Preator without a Thunderhammer or Paragon Blade seems counter productive since those two weapons (while expensive) help the preator do his job : Kill other preators / HQ's.

As Leontite has stated, I'm a big proponent to Primus Medicae's since they're uber apothecaries and can give FNP to units that don't have access to an apothecarion detachment. Since your list doesnt have one of those units, I think you'd be better served with a Master of Signal, a Forge Father, a Librarian or even a Vigilator.

Since you're using Head of the Gorgon, well, I can see why. Did you consider the Legion Specific characters with Master of the Legion? They might be better fits for the list, imo. Though we'd need to get the Iron Hands guys in here to really help you out in that department since I'm all Imperial Fists :P * I CALL UPON THEE, WOLF_PACK! (among others I'm probably forgetting right now)

Now for the Tac Squads, giving the Sarge only a combi weapon seems like a waste and since you don't have "And they shall know no fear", getting a Vexilla is not up for debate if you aren't a legion who cant fail morale tests / are fearless.

I'm iffy about the Graviton Gun Squad. Its a heavy 1 weapon and really is only a deterrent for assault focused infantry and a hull point stripper for vehicles. If you want Graviton Weapons, Rapier Batteries with Graviton Cannons would serve you better.

If you want to keep the combi-weapons on the tac squads, then use those 28 points spare and give them vexillas. Being able to re-roll failed morale will save your skin more often than not.

Well thats actally some really good advaice thank you guys, I be adding in Vexilla and Paragon Blade to the list as for the Grav Gunners, they seem to work well as i am Vs an Out flanking bike EC and a Drop poding WE Army the Grav Guns have interseptor and i found them useful when for slowing them down.

I think for this list i shall keep the Praetor but i have swaped him out of my second list for a Primus Medicae's Yer FnP on Cataphii Is awesome :)

*** materializes with a flashbang of teleportation ***

Who dares to summon me!?!

Erm...

I would not run a praetor under 1,500 points, as you don't really get to make use of it's perks.

grav guns are fine if you can force your opponent to come forward. However, you don't have any incentive for them to do so. Subbing the grav guns with 2 rapier batteries would probably change that and give you a good anti tank solution.

Drop the castellax to beef up your tacticals would be a good idea. Apothecaries aren't cheap, and they are much more cost effective on large squads.
