Wolf Lord Cuneglas Posted November 23, 2014 Share Posted November 23, 2014 Wow, had a great 30k game. First time trying out Mortarian. It was 2k Death Guard vs 2k Emperors Children. Sorry no batrep, just wanted to talk about Mortarian. He is a beast. I thought the unwieldy S7 AP2 instant death wasn't go to be all that great, but I was wrong. While the Phoenician would probably take Mortarian 1vs1, against hordes, monstrous creatures or high end units, The Reaper lived up to his name. Fulgrim was bogged down with a 20 man unit with an Apothecary. While Fulgrim could only kill about 2 guys a round, Mortarian destroyed units in 2 turns at the most. The sweep attack really mows down enemy units. Rad grenades are devastating in cc. Gravewardens are solid, but surprisingly the Death Shroud seemed to be more killy. Overall 30k is awesome. depthcharge12 Posted November 23, 2014 Share Posted November 23, 2014 Welcome to the club :) DG I believe, has gotten more love than just about any other legion out there except for maybe SoH, but even then, there are more DG players. It allowed at bottom of turn 1 assault. 6 inch move with 10 inch sotr and rerolling charge is a huge bubble of death. I thought I would leave him with deathshroud, but he is a wrecking ball.
