So, I've been slacking on the converting part of my entry in Grotsmasha's conversion challenge, but today, I have progress. I've just started the turret and this is what I have so far:

More progress pics! I think it's effectively done, but just needs a bit of touch up and a little green stuff.

Cross-posted from the completions thread:

It's complete. Some notes: I refuse to put on the tracks before painting them, so I've left them off here. :P I used bits from the city ruins sets, the bastion set, dreadnought bits, spare servo-skulls, and a razorback, obviously. I'm terrible at green stuff, but I think I got the gaps I wanted filled in.

Here you can see the exterior ladder the chaplain would use to mount the pulpit.

Special Bonus Interior View:

(I had to adjust the colour on this one, and I'm no expert at that)

My thought was there'd be some smaller reliquaries in the wall alcoves, tended by the servo-skulls. These would be related to the company the chaplain is with. The big one on the floor would be something important to the chapter, say a primarch's weapon, or section of armour.

  • 2 months later...

My problem with the turret design, is the fact the gun elevation is limited. If a sniper attacks the vehicle from an elevated position- say, the upper floors of a building, in an urban warfare scenario- will the Chaplain have to return fire by himself?

Better to use a Predator chassis with a pulpit atop the turret, like Commissar Yarrick's Fortress of Arrogance. The Predator turret is big enough that you can mount the turret in ways that do not interfere with the main weapons' elevation. I'm sure the Chaplain will appreciate the reinforced armor- the better to protect the weapons in the Emperor's hands, so He may take vengeance upon those who dare raise arms against Him and His realm, of course.
