Tanks! (picture heavy)

Seahawk

Recommended Posts

Finally got around to getting my Leman Russes painted up, in urban camo. I have many more tanks to go, but here's the beginning. By the way, I do not suggest painting a squadron of tanks as you would a squad of dudes...ha. I've gotten all of these second hand, so you'll see some...irregularities. Mostly including thicker paint and strange deformities, resulting in decal sadness. Ah well, on to the vehicles!

@scatmandoo: Everyone thinks it is, but actually it's a Ryza pattern LRBT. Since it differs from the rest of my LRBT's though, I use it as an Eradicator.

@Flint: It's all about dat BANG.

@tomsev: I know! I just said though that painting quick is rough. :P

Yea, I looked at pictures of tanks to see what vision blocks really look like when they're not lit, and that was the result. Blackish greyish clear or something.

I've gotten into the habit of doing vehicle mounted plasma coils in that pulsating fashion. See my titan for another example! :D

A lovely tank company, especially love the Plasma Coil paintjob, may steal that one from you for my Ryza Executioner in Big Guns! Like the way it shows the energy flowing across the coils.

Your colour scheme is a cool form of urban camo too, liking the weathering and I echo the calls for a Baneblade to join the battalion.

Seahawk is the Dauntless a Forgeworld or is it a conversion job? Love the Ryza pattern Battle Cannon did it come together fairly well or was it a difficult conversion?

It is a Stygies 3 vanquisher turret from Forgeworld.

And after looking it is a Ryza battle cannon turret not a executioner as was previously thought. Good spot Disciple.

Good looking turrets though.

O_o Damn thats a lot of beautiful armor you've got there!

Just wondering, some spots look...melted. Was that intentional or a happy accident? Because they look great and add a lot of character to the individual tanks.

@Boomkapow and the rest: I'm trying to find a Baneblade on the cheap, but no luck yet. When I got this lot done, I started looking longingly at it, so not to fear there will be a centerpiece to this column! I still have two Manticores and three Chimeras on the work bench, so one (dozen) things at a time. :P

The Dauntless is a Stygies VIII turret (known for its shorter barrel but higher velocity), and the Ordinatus is a Modified Ryza LR turret. The Mortis' turret I converted from spare parts, and same goes for 133; I'd built the Shadowsword (it's Chaos, aww) and didn't need the big barrel, so I stuck it on a turret for a Demolisher, ha. 132's LRBT barrel was just cut down to make it the snub-nosed bang-barrel Demolisher.

@Slipstreams: You are not wrong; poor 131 and 133 have distinct areas of...melting. As noted, all of these tanks were acquired 2nd hand, so whatever the previous owner did to these is a mystery. My theory is he held a lighter to the parts of the hull he wanted to look sad and droopy, so that's where it's at. I simply incorporated it into appropriate-ish battle damage and left it as is.
