Hesh Kadesh Posted December 18, 2014 Share Posted December 18, 2014 Just a theoretical aircav list that I'll be using in a large points games for campaigns, where multiple FoC's are allowed. The issue with "Angels' Wrath" is that the fun bits (the Fire Raptors and the Storm Eagles) just cost so much that it's not really that effective to make a list out of them. Sure, I can fill out by taking Land Speeders, Jetbikes, Assault Marines and Javelins, but there isn't actually a benefit in doing so (The benefit being that I can get Storm Eagles despite having full of Fast Attack choices (Jetbikes, Primaris-Lightning, Anvillus Dreadclaws, Land Speeders, Storm Eagles, Javelin Attack Speeders) End up with this; Maloghurst the Twisted = 140 Outflank Veterans, Meltagun, Storm Eagle, TL'd Multi Melta, 2x TL'd Lascannons = 140+265 Outflank Veterans, Meltagun, Storm Eagle, TL'd Multi Melta, 2x TL'd Lascannons = 140+265 Reavers, Jump Packs, +2 Marines, Meltabomb = 220 Reavers, Jump Packs, +1 Marines = 200 3x Fireraptors, Reaper Autocannons = 630pts Very troops light (24 MEQ's), but designed to be a bit of a "douche move" army. 5 AV12 4HP flyers is a lot to try and counter and out of many armies capabilities, particularly in 30k (local meta is no SH, and Age of Darkness only FoC+Allies lists). For damage, 2 Multimeltas, 4 TL Lascannons, 6 TL'd Rending 4 Shot Autocannons with Strafing Run, 3 7 Shot MEQ killers, 4 Large Blasts. The Reavers mostly just stay out of LoS and stay in cover. Maloghurst is to allow the cheapest troops, provide Master of the Legion and also be a decent buff. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Slips Posted December 19, 2014 Share Posted December 19, 2014 If you want more Aircav, those two Reaver Squads are enough points to shove in another Storm Eagle... Also consider the Primaris Lightning Fighter. IIRC, it has a Haywire Bomb or something; in class can't verify. Theyre also Cheaper and I think you can take them in Squadrons so a potential 1-3 MORE flyers.
