Solar Auxillia 1500pts

Hey all,

 

First off if I'm not in the right section please let me know and I'll move my army list. I have also posted this list under the guard section. I love Heresy Era armies and have a substantial Death Guard Army. I have fallen in love with the solar auxillia and am wanting to put a list together. I have never played a guard army and will definitely need help. I haven't bought any models yet so my list is extremely flexible. Without further ado.

First section of Tercio 2 should be put in Tercio 1 as taking a aegis line requires that no other section in the Tercio have a Dracosan transport. That doesn't change anything to your list.

 

As you mentioned in another post not having any experience with IG. I have a mechanised AM list, everyone on board chimera with some valkyrie in support. It's fun to play but lack a bit of punch in armour and big weapon of mass destruction department. The Dracosan maybe a better APC than the chimera, but you could try to fit more tank. Maybe replacing the Valdor by two leman russ or basilisk.

 

I have no experience with fliers. But if the Lightning is in a AA role, the aegis could used for something else (or removed)?

The aegis is also good for covering your flyers if they opponents comes on second. They can intercept them so they don't shoot down yours. The Thunderbolt makes for a better dog-fighter while the Lightning is a better support craft with it's array of options. I would remove a Quad Gun and take the 'Bolt instead.

 

The Valdor is good AT. The Dracosans can easily support it while moving around troops.

 

I think it's a solid list over all
