Convert up then paint up two priests,,,using two extra brettonnian MAA's for bodies with bits and bobs added to 40kify them up. For the Grenadier Guards/vets I am going to paint them with black pants,black facings/lacing. Helmets will be like those my former SWT's had/have For the rough riders I just gotta add the flamers on. For the Wyvern battery I am going to build up a diorama using a base the same size as a chimera(yes I actually have an armoured company,but do not use it as everyone fields tanks,backed up by a shadowsword) the sides to represent the side and frontal armour will be breastworks modeled after Napoleonic era parallels so they are as tall as a chimera. The rear area will be left open to show the paper thin rear armour. to show the height of the turret I am going to either use a simple flag or an observation tower,which ever looks better,,,so folks can still basically use the same line of sight as if it was the actual model.The barrels will be four old school metal IG mortars with a gun crew thrown in for looks. I remember repainting my Guard army a few years back... but it was worth it in the end :D Sounds like you have some great ideas too, your army theme is really cool so I'm eager to see them get a shiny new paint job! gomericus Posted January 4, 2015 Author Share Posted January 4, 2015 Pauses while finding more music,,,Thats the plan,I batch paint everything,moving from one color to the next,so that by the time Im done with the last fig of what ever batch the first ones ready for the next color.That and having a clear paint scheme in mind before hand,a test mini done,and having painted something like 700 black templars taught me a bit about speed techniques. gomericus Posted January 5, 2015 Author Share Posted January 5, 2015 Did not get the time I had planned to work on them yesterday,but still got halfway through the 40 conscripts,,,seems the hymns and rights of activation for the washous clothious mechanicus were not done in a mannor that pleased the machine god as the day was spent mostly pulling an clogging and melted belt out,,,,le sigh,,,,pics to follow of the troopers. gomericus Posted January 24, 2015 Author Share Posted January 24, 2015 Alas Ive lost my laptop seems the right incantations for the machine spirit were not properly observed or a chaos spawn,,ala kitten broke the power button,,,lost my wip pics of the conscripts but will retake the finished ones and the wip of the vets and priests this weekend, to get the white I started with a base of light brown,followed by linen then white brushed over it. gomericus Posted January 28, 2015 Author Share Posted January 28, 2015 I cannot promise better pics my digital cameras like 10yrs old,lol but will post different ones this weekend as I work on the vets, most of the vets are a mix of gw legs and arms torsos and heads from perry brothers heavy french cav and french dragoons that were left over from making my rough riders. Their haversacks come from a wide variety of sources,,gw,perry bros,necromunda,old warzone figs,and some i had cast up ( not recast,but built from scratch and casted) Seeing them painted up as Im working on the vets Im not sure about the black facings/lacing for the vets,,,too much black maybe? perhaps white or back to the yellow instead? thoughts,suggestions? what do you all think of the priests? side note,does anyone have extra marine combat knives? I came up short to finish equiping the conscripts with bayonets. The white really didn't take me all that long,started with a base of light brown,then followed by a brushing of linen,then a wash of watered down dark brown,think it was burntumber then a dry brush/touch up of pure white Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

For the vets why not inverse your standard colour scheme? Red torso white secondary colour? They would still tie in with the main theme of your army but look unique as well.
