Report to the Reclusiarch for penance time in the pain-glove. Then report to the Marshal and advise him on your next mission, to reclaim your honour!

Name: Sword Brother Nayvos reporting

Sector: NX 02 (game played on 2/12)

Mission: Killteams Supply Drop Mission (Primary) Leave no man behind(Secondary)

Opponent: Tau

Size: BT 100pts, Tau 200pts

Black Templar VP: 7 points (FB, Break the enemy, Outmanned, 1 objectives worth 3, Slay the Warlord)

Chaos VP: 0 points (not even a kill....)

Utter Black Templar Victory!

Batrep:

Sword Brother Nayvos' blade glittered with the blood of traitors as his team reassembled in the Docking bay. This would be their new command post; homeless as they were now this would become that. Luckily the traitors had barely been here but a few hours before they made the boarding action- everything was still in order from the imperials that abandoned it many generations prior and more importantly the traitors hadn't had time to taint it. His team had purged them with no mercy receiving in return the scars born of true devotion to the Emperor.
"Unfortunately those wounds would have little time to heal" he thought as a signal was received soon after reclaiming the Bridge. The signal was from a merchant vessel fleeing from a local system. Noticing the heraldry of Black Templar on the listening post they immediately sent word that a large vessel displayed a trophy of in the same likeness.
His rage boiled at the thought of it, no heraldry-especially those colors of his beloved chapter- should ever be displayed in such a way. They would attack the larger vessel and reclaim what relics where there.
+++++++
Their thunderhawk was able to bring them down onto the vessel without alerting the ships sensors(seized the initiative). Nayvos split his team into two teams to search the vessel. He warned his brothers that this was a Tau vessel and to be careful for the drones sentries for they would guard what seemed to be the most precious to these deceitful xenos(1st turn-just movement). Brother Tael stepped from cover and fired his plasma gun melting an unsuspecting guard. Brother Titus and Guere take down a drone and last tau guard. Brother Ludus siezes his opportunity to charge the nearest cargo door relieving it from its hinges. The tau respond with several drones who fail to wound the Emperor's chosen(Turn two- FB, both Tau specialist killed). Brothers Titus, Guere, and Tael finish off the drones while Ludus breaks into the cargo room revealing no relic but a battle brother! Helping him to his feet, free of his confinement, Brother Maut explained that 5 others were all that remained of their contingent which was ambushed exiting the warp on the southern end of the Argos Nebula(turn three- 3VP primary). Realizing their fate the Tau leader pushed forward with his specially modified drone as the last of his squad fell back into defensive positions. Seeing the cowardice of their enemy only drove the Brothers on in their hate- Brother Ludus tore the specially modified drone apart with his bare hands as Brother Guere's Bolter found its mark piercing the Xenos leader's fragile head (fourth turn-Slay the Warlord, Break the enemy). Few Xenos remained(just 1 and the turrets) yet the other holds had not been released so the Brothers charged into the remaining turrets. Brother Titus' Krak grenade found purchase on the Xenos' hardware as Brother Nayvos' Melta bomb ripped open the turret exposing several more survivors in the hold. The last Tau guard retreated from the hold as the Brother's of the Inflixi Sine crusade guided their rescued brothers back to their Thunderhawk after leaving a surplus of armed melta bombs. As Nayvos watched the Tau vessel's fuel cells ignite in blue flame, he smiled to himself as he knew the cleansing flame of the Emperor would purge these Xenos once and for all....

The dice gods spat in my face the entire game; I'm sorry I've brought shame upon this crusade brothers.  I tried.

There is no shame in being unsuccessful, only in giving up.

A Templar's worth is measured after he has been knocked down. His willingness to get back up, honoring those who came before him, while facing his opponent once again, is why the Emperor entrusted the Eternal Crusade to the sons of Sigismund.

ZEAL lets you smile as you draw your sword once again.

Brothers I report two small victories for the Black Templars. Both shall go towards the embattled NX-02 sector. Both games were part of a campaign that I'm taking part in, so alas that my opponents where not chaos. Both were also 500 points.

My list for both games

MoF

Crusader Squad x5, Meltagun, Power Axe, SB w/Power Sword

Razorback w/ Storm Bolter, TL Plasma/LC

Neophyte Squad x5

Land Speeder Storm w/ MM

Assault Squad x5 w/2x Flamers, Sgt w/Melta Bombs

Game 1 vs (Renegade) Blood Angels

Mission: Purge the Alien

Templar VP - 5

BA VP - 3

Batrep

He had a tac squad(razorback transport)with sanquinary priest, sniper scouts and a Furioso in a DP.  I won first turn and attempted to blind his scouts with my Cerebus launcher to no avail. I also took pot shots at his obscured razor also to no avail. Meanwhile my assault squad made straight for his scouts. On his turn the Dread came in and blew the Storm out of the sky and most of the scouts. Meanwhile his tac squad and transport drove forward and foolishly engaged the Templars at close range dealing no damage.

Turn 2, the Assault squad makes firing range of the scouts and takes one down then gloriously charges into combat. The veteran Initiate (aka the Sgt) challenges and promptly whiffs all his to wound rolls. The squad kills one scout. Meanwhile the MoF and his Crusaders jump out and engage the traitors at point blank range.  The accuracy of the Templars is not to be underestimated and the tac squad is decimated leaving only the Sgt and the priest. The razorbacks engage in a deadly firefight with each other but the Emperor guides our aim and the enemy tank is immobilized.  On his turn the dreadnought makes short work of the poor Neophyte and the Sang Priest and sgt again foolishly attempt to engage the Templars in close combat. This time the fury with which they counter attack is such that the sang priest decides that he's better off staying way(failed his charge roll)

Turn 3. The batlle of who can roll more ones continues with the scouts and Assault Marines duking it out. Meanwhile the Sang Priest is granted the Emperor's Mercy as the Crusaders charge him and the MoF slays him in single combat. Likewise the enemy tank meets an end at the hands of a lascannon. On his turn the dreadnought enters the fray and the lone remaining scout decides it's time to flee while the dreadnought is occupying the assault squad.

From here on out the biggest turn of events was the assault marines thankfully(yes you read right) failing their LD test and fleeing from the Dread. This allowed them to stay alive and subsequently blow the DP for an extra kill poiint. In the end I won 5 points to his 3.

Game 2 vs Dark Eldar

Mission: Crusade

Templar VP - 8

DE VP - 0

This game actually was much closer than the points suggest. He ran 3 reavers bikers an archon, two paper transports with a couple of squads inside. It was not nearly as exciting as the first one until the end. So I'm going to gloss over the slow parts. The beginning was a lot of cat and mouse with his fast vehicles darting this way and that and my neophytes plinking shots uselessly off of his silly cover saves. The bikers went down fast because he let them too close to my crusaders.  I should have moved my assault troops towards his transports but instead had them attempt to assist against the bikes which wasn't needed. Instead they did a lot of nothing as they got slowly whittled down over the course of the game.

The scouts were finally useful blowing away a 5 man squad but that was a lot of poor cover save rolling on his part. They eventually ate it along with the transport leaving me with just the Crusaders and their Razorback to capture objectives. On turn 5 I needed there to be a 6 turn and got it. Here I was hopeful that I could blow up one or two of his fast transports to make it easier for me to try and claim 2 of the 3 objectives. I got one but not both. Then on his turn the archon and his squad whittled down my crusaders but they managed to hold their ground. At this point, he has his archon and troops on an objective, I hold the middle one with my razorback, and he claims the third with his other transport.

So I'm down 7-5 at this point. Thankfully the Emperor smiled upon me this day and there was a turn 7. With this turn I am able to take down the last transport with him failing his jink save. This was huge as it evens the score to 4 each at worst (if he gets slay the warlord it washes with first blood and we both hold an objective) So now I decide it's time to be aggressive. My MoF has only 1 wound but he boldly walks up to the eldar and torches them with his flamer. Meanwhile the lone survivor of the Crusader squad (the SB) allows a mark on his honor by not charging the eldar with the MoF.  (I needed him to try and survive to contest the objective with OS)  The MoF charges boldy into certain death trusting in his armor. The Emperor smiled upon him as well making all his armor saves and purging the eldar from the Emperor's sight.  So because I was able to get that last turn I tabled him and won 8-0 but it was good game over all.

All in all a fun couple of games. Got to try out the scouts for the first time. They were ok, I think I was too aggressive with them and thats why they suffered. Also used my new Templar dice for the first time and they performed excellently. While they did fail me a couple of times when I needed a save for the most part they rolled really well when I needed them to.

Nice job! A daring turn 7 bout of heroism from the Master of the Forge, the most cool-headed Templar in any crusade! A nice bit of trope there with the ' "I will fight by your side!" "No! You must hold the line. Have faith, we will fight side-by-side another day." '

If I could feel pity, I would feel it for your opponent going from 7VP to 0VP in one perfectly orchestrated killing blow! (Just as planned ;) )

Yeah, I felt a bit bad too, but he played a good game just the dice gods did not favor him in the end. That said it was an epic battle considering it was only 500 points. It could easily have been 7-3 if he had not failed his cover save and 2+ invul on his archon.  That was the only save his HQ failed too, but unfortunately for him it was the MoF powerfist and he turned to red mist. :D

Do it! It shall count towards Phase 3

Sweet I had a lot of fun today. I'll have to get it written up later today when I get back from work or tomorrow.

<looks at sig> Yes, but as "who"? huh.png

In this case the things needing to be destroyed needed to be done so righteously and with no mucking about, not overnight, so Templars it was.

Round 2 is now closed. Look for a summation of the results in the Crusade thread.

Damn I also missed the deadline it seems :

Summary :

  • Advancement to claim sub region NX-06
  • Mission : Maelstrom of War - Contact Lost - Speartip
  • 1250 points
  • Opposition : Eldar
  • Battle status : victory (7 to 6)

Report :

While advancing through sub region NX-06, the Tharcian crusade flushed out a group of eldars trying to secure a webway access into the Argos sector within a fortified imperial stronghold. Marshall Remus decided on a precision strike from orbit to destroy the gate without damaging too much of the existing garrison facilities, which placing targeting beacons on the ground for the fleet lances to lock onto.

Most of the templar force was wiped as they moved through the area to place markers for the orbital strike. Over a protracted close combat fight, brother Marshall Remus challenged and defeated a wraithlord, and challenged the xeno warlord - no less than three times - who shrunk away in dishonour. By turn 4 only the Marshall and one brother remain, and all but one target markers are placed (objectives).

Which leads us to the MVP for the game, the lone battle brother who survived a full turn alone (shooting and assault - including the catastrophic collapse of the building) against a wraithknight, denying him the control of the last orbital stike marker long enough for the fleet to unleash the fury of the Emperor's wrath upon them (game ending on turn 5).

He shall be promoted to the Sword Bretheren, assuming someone comes to pick him and the Marshall up from the rubble.

Bad tiding!

My Knights Exemplar were humbled today.

Summary:

  • Reinforcements to sub region NX-06
  • Mission : Maelstrom of War - The spoils of war
  • 500 points
  • Opposition : Xenos (Tau) Chaos Cult (SoB)
  • Battle status :Defeat
  • Knights Exemplar 0
  • Xenos 4
  • Chaos Cult 2

A sad day for my Templar successors.

the deployment went very bad, as I was the last one going, got stuck in the middle.

Trying to work out my forces thre best I could, I sent an assault squad on a rhino to assault xenos lines, other tactical squad with my TDA captain took cover on some the ruins with my heavy weapon tac squad.

My Assault Squad got obliterated by a riptide (who brings a riptide to a 500 points game?), managing to take 2 FW with them giving first blood to the xenos.

The Xenos also slayed the warlord of the Chaos Cult.

My TDA captain charged alone a group of 8 sisters after being trimmed down and killed 4 in glorious melee combat. In the next tune he proceeded to destroy the rest with some more shooting and charging.

The objectives did not favour me, but my 2 tac squads managed to bring the riptide down after taking a wound out of him in melee combat and the plasma gun brother finished him off.

Sisters were tabled turn 4 and I managed to deny an objective to the xenos at a great cost.

Deployment and rolls did not favour me.

Take Faith Brother! You brought the Emperor's light to those foul xenos scum, although you did not win you did some might assaults!

Also I thought when you are tabled you score no points?(although I have no idea if it is different in Maelstrom missions but I was assuming it was the same)

Nothing... The Riptide was focused on my Marines the entire game and charged me turn 4. Luckily managed to bring him down while my CM was weathering storms of fire trying to reach the Tau Lines. Unfortunately there was a lack of turns. Next game is 750 points.

A mighty land raider will take it to the field

Just a quick update, the oath has been fulfilled, and this worthy brother has joined the Marshal's household upon rejoining the fleet. He has chosen to retain the holy bolter as his weapon :http://reho.st/self/38043f148330f54b7639c8d8df9c82bf20f59ade.jpg

Name: Marshal Mattias

Sector: NX-05

Opponent: Khornate Daemons + Chaos Space Marines.

Battle size: 1500pts

Mission: Maelstrom 1.

Black Templar Victory Points: 6

Oppoment Victory Points: 2

Battle description:

The Renascibilitas Crusade moves to alleviate the pressure on the main Templar forces pushing into NX-03 by assaulting enemy supply lines and reducing support from neighbouring sectors. However, they find stiff opposition from traitor forces, who summon foul creatures from the warp...

Black Templar Forces:

Castellan with Artificer armour, Shield Eternal + Thunder-hammer.

Attatched Xenos Inquisitor with Liber Heresius, Rad and Psychostroke.

Crusader squad 1/8/3 split, with power sword, meltagun, power maul and CCWs.

All mounted in Land Raider Crusader 'Consecrare' with Multimelta.

Chaplain on bike with meltabombs.

Command squad (5) on bikes with apothecary, champion, 4 power lances and meltabombs.

Ironclad Dreadnought with twin heavy flamers, drop-pod with Deathwind launcher.

Tactical crusaders, with flamer and boltguns, sword brother with pistol+chainsword. Drop pod.

Blacktalon gunship with skyhammer missiles.

Chaos Forces:

Flying prince with bloodsword(?)

Soul grinder with lots of dakka and flak.

Hellbrute with Multimelta.

10 plague bearers

10 bloodletters

2x 3 juggernaut/bloodletter cavalry.

Mastery lvl 3 sorcerer (biomancy?)

10 chaos marines with plasma pistol

Helldrake burny-gun.

We deployed in opposite corners, chaos going first and planting plaguebearers on ob-1 and the rest of his forces grouped together in the centre, being led by the soul grinder and flying prince. All bloodletters in reserve.

http://i1287.photobucket.com/albums/a628/matzeke/7F03DE73-C711-4FF2-BB06-3B75DF8AD1EC_zpsy1bx3hwr.jpg

I deploy my bikers flanking my LRC and pushing forward to the 4 clustered objectives of the centre-board.

http://i1287.photobucket.com/albums/a628/matzeke/48FC628F-62FC-42DC-B2FE-A7922EABA835_zpsnkfc3szp.jpg

Enemy keeps initiative, moves up and shoots a couple of long-range shots from the grinder at my bikers but they avoid any casualties. Can't reach either objective 4 or 5, so content themselves with making some run moves.

Ironclad drops behind main enemy thrust, clambers out into the ruins and burns 7 of the plaguebearers to a cinder, but cannot claim the objective from the fearless troops.

LRC rolls up to deny objective 5 from the enemy Fly-Prince next turn and potshots at him as a warning. The sorcerer has already gifted the creature with a 4+FNP which helps it shrug off the shots.

Bikers move in the same direction but stop to secure objective 4 for the first victory point.

Enemy reinforcements are hampered by the off-field assets sent to delay them by the strategically-inclined Castellan. The helldrake fails to appear while the bloodletters scatter into the open behind the bikers. One unit of juggernauts arrive close enough to objective 4 to contest it but cannot claim it from the bikers. The others scatter to the other side of the building, leaving the Templar Sword Brethren and their Chaplain perilously ensnared by the daemons on all sides.

The hellbrute lags behind the main force to try and get a shot at the ironclad, but can only manage to miss the drop-pod instead. In its rage, it instead destroys it in close combat. The plague demons cannot leave the objective without gifting me a victory point.

The soulgrinder blunders through nearby buildings to try and get a shot at the side of the LRC, but fails to damage it. The sorcerer casts another buff to the prince, but the will of the Templars is strong and their faith denies the attempt. :D

The enemy warlord glides away to hide behind the grinder, fearful of the firepower brought by the landraider.

Templar turn, and the ironclad finishes off the unit and takes the objective point while climbing out of the ruins.

The small tactical unit arrives and lands behind the juggernauts, disembarking into the ruins there and leaving their pod blocking the street. As they open fire on the rear jugger-squad, their brother appears in the sky, the guns of 'Zelus Talus' blazing and blasting apart more of the daemons in the same unit. With the sound of engines overhead, the chaplain wheels his squad about and charges down the bloodletter unit, killing four with shooting before slamming into the unit, the impact killing three more. The Chaplain lashed out and swatted aside the last 3 even as they tried vainly to strike back at the Templars, daemonic weapons failing to find a mark. The bikers quickly pulled a 180• and consolidated back towards the front lines.

The LRC had seen the threat to the command squad and rushed to support them, securing objective 4 as the bikers left it, continuing to deny the enemy a foothold. Guns blazing all round, they fired on the untouched juggernaut squad but only succeeded in scoring a single wound, such was the speed they had travelled to reach the objective in time.

The chaos fiends retaliated, but still without their air support. The sorcerer tried again to give the buffs to the daemon prince, but once again the Templars showed their worth, denying it with THREE sixes on 6 dice!

The hellbrute ignored the ironclad but fired on the second drop pod, taking a hull point. The soul grinder moved to fire on the landraider, managing to damage the assault cannons, readying to charge. The daemon prince moved to the right side of the landraider, ready to charge in support. The juggernauts moved round the drop pod ready to assault the marines in cover, along with the wounded survivor of the other squad. It was looking grim, even before the sorcerer and his squad managed to blow up the drop pod, killing the Templar sword-brother in the ruins despite his power armour. At least it put a wound on one of the daemons too ;)

The lone jugger charged first and was slain by the precise and disciplined wall of gunfire that greeted him. The second wave reached the walls in time to find the Templars ready, and they quickly dragged down and executed one more of the daemon beasts before they were overrun and fell. :(

The great mechanical daemon bore down on the landraider, but the narrowing street left it struggling in the rubble and falling just short! (only just rolled his needed 5" distance, except he then didn't quite fit through the buildings, so I reminded him of the 2" charge penalty :P)

The daemon prince 'smashed' at the landraider, but had mistakenly replaced his sword with a wiffle-bat.

Now the Templars could strike back; with the potential to score several D3 objectives if they could make 3 separate assault distances...

Firstly, the bikes moved up and opened fire on the two juggers, killing one (woops, now I'm 10" away...)

They would not make their charge distance...

The ironclad moved up into the wreckage of his pod and flamed the rear armour of the hellbrute, glancing him. However he failed his 6" charge range...

The LRC moved forward to the soul grinder and let rip with everything it had, causing a penetrating hit which immobilised it, while the wheeling Templar aircraft came up alongside and stripped it of two more hull points.

http://i1287.photobucket.com/albums/a628/matzeke/6D197B41-D7F7-4809-A2F2-9AA0FE5ED1E4_zpsizcb4v71.jpg

Meanwhile the Castellan and his Inquisitorial accomplice had already hopped out the side door to deal with the Daemon Prince:

-----

"Get his attention." Growled the Castellan, hefting the weight of his relic storm shield and flexing his fingers around the haft of his warhammer.

The inquisitor smirked, raising his bolt pistol. "With pleasure."

The crack of the shot was followed by a bellowing roar of pain, as the daemon creature took an explosive round to the lower jaw, leaving his foul long tongue lolling down against his chest. Even as it turned, the Inquisitor was reaching behind his back, his fingers closing around a jury-rigged bundle of exotic grenades, thumbing their timers before looping them through the air to burst all around the creature, their unique toxins permeating its flesh.

http://i1287.photobucket.com/albums/a628/matzeke/80AA08A2-0BD0-45AD-A348-668BB29627F0_zpshmyogzmn.jpg

The Castellan was impressed, not that he uttered any praise. He just twirled his hammer once; then with a gradual lurch, began to jog, then run, picking up speed and momentum with a glacier-like implacability. The warp-creature screamed and hurtled forward to meet him slashing wildly in a rage-induced flurry. Once, twice, three times, the Knight ducked, sidestepped and twisted, avoiding each thrust. The fourth, he had to turn away with his shield, a great screeching of metal-on-metal accompanying the sparks and flashes of warp-borne energy from the creature's sword. But the tempest of blows continued; five, six - a back step, a drop of his shoulder - seven - he was forced to roll to his side, a cloud of dust kicking up around him, clinging to the front of his tabard, obscuring the heraldry there - eight - the enormous blade flashed within a hair of his helm, swinging through and into an overhead blow which he had no hope of avoiding - nine. The boom echoed across the battlefield as if it were a silent graveyard. Through the smoke and dust, the Castellan was visible, his feet planted firmly apart, his shield raised high above his head, the blade of the daemon creature falling down around him in pieces, silver rain that glistened beautifully, belying its malefic origin.

The creature stumbled back, as the Black Knight rose from his stoop, the shield slipping from his hand as he span, pirouetted, and passed his hammer from one hand to the next in a glorious ballet of violence. The creatures eyes darted back and forth as it backed away, trying to follow the movement that only increased in speed until finally - a swooping uppercut that connected with the shattered face of the daemon creature, crumpling it for a fraction before the power field of the hammer caused it to explode in a miasma of gore. The force of the detonation sent a shockwave that blasted the dust cloud out and away, the black cross upon the Templar's chest standing proud once more.

-----

Daemon prince struck first with 9 attacks, only two wounding but being turned aside by the shield eternal. The Castellan retaliated, only managing a single hit against the WS9 opponent (despite full re-rolls!) but that was all it took - the rad grenades dropped the enemy to toughness 4 and the hammer caused instant death which the demon failed to save on his invulnerable, as he also lacked his biomancy-induced saves.

The Castellan and his new friend consolidate into the cover of the nearby building, expecting the helldrake to arrive shortly.

Templars net 4 VPs this turn - destroy a unit, destroy a unit in assault, destroy a flying monstrous creature, slay the warlord!

The Chaos forces are looking tired - their air support finally arrives, vector striking the ironclad to no effect, before bale-flaming the biker command squad but only managing to kill two.

The hellbrute turns and fires at the ironclad, but rolls a 3 on 2D6...

He charges, but lacks any frags and the ironclad strikes first, sucker punching him in the face with one hit, one penetration, one detonation. This is where we called the game for time. The rest of his turn and then my half of 4 would see: bikers finishing last jugger. LRC finishing grinder (hopefully). Talon probably flying off board to come back on in five and target helldrake. Castellan and Inquisitor getting charged by 7 plaguebearers before moving off to target the chaos marines/witch unit in turn 5 with the crusaders (who hadn't even disembarked yet - again. This happen too often in my local meta :( )

A good game, and a solid win ;)

First time trying out centurions-- and they didn't disappoint; killed an entire unit of terminators, a terminator wolf lord, a wolf priest and immobilized a venerable dreadnought with them.  At game's end all that was left on the table was a single centurion, one of my opponent's landraider crusaders, the immobilized dread, and his rune priest.

Pregame:

Just as quick as Nayvos and his new brothers returned to their station a distress call was recieved regarding a trapped group of brothers of the Confessor chapter."There is little rest for the Righteous, Brother" Tael reminded Nayvos as they pulled up the briefing. The briefing continued; "pinned behind enemy lines" stood out as Nayvos eyes scanned the page. His group was the most able to respond to the call, they were quick and veteran, yet there was barely time to supply much less allow the squad to become better acquainted. Tael looked sharply at his brother thinking the same thought. They needed to leave and leave now. Resupplying in a hurry the newly formed squad embarked to intercede for their brothers. Joining the squad of Ludus, Guere, Tael with his trusted plasma gun and Titus on the station's landing pad were the new brothers: Maut cleaning his relic bolter, Coyrn, Ryhl, Justos, and Sol. Nayvos gave orders to board the ship as it's engines were engaging. He watched his squad enter first the new squad members following suit. He stood on the Stormbird's assault ramp continuing to watch the distant twinkling stars as it sealed shut."Only in death does duty end. There will be No pity, No remorse" He said in a low tone to himself repeating the last part as did his brothers their battle cry, their hymn: "No Pity! No Remorse!"

Turn 1:

The Templar's landing was as pristine as any brother could have hoped as resistance was small, slaying every heretic in their path. They followed the beacon discovering a single Confessor sergeant holding down a defensive position with several of his injured brethren. Zealously his brothers cleared the immediate area as Nayvos surveyed the room. He could tell that a terrible fight had occurred there and the many foes the Confessors had valiantly vanquished yet something uneased his mind. The seargent turned to him with a look of desperation and yet unyielding determination were in his eyes. Nayvos knew that look too well and immediately turned to his team yelling into his helmet's com bead, "Ambush".
Immediately Nayvos jumped over the defense line and activated the heavy bolter sentries above him. He heard his brothers all jump back behind the line just as the first zombies appeared. The zombies rushed Maut and Ryhl yet are cut down by expert marksmanship. 'I need to see that Ryhl gets a look at the armory with his marksmanship ability,' thought Nayvos being cut short as 2 zombies fell over the barricade at him waving wildly.

Turn 2:

Brother Ludus sees and opening and takes it diving into several zombies hoping that dispatching them may break the enemies lines long enough to get the survivors back to their ship. Nayvos is freed from combat as Maut and Coyrn kill off the two Zombies engaging him. Many zombies fall to Tael's fierce plasma and the turrets but the amount of foes triples as zombies flow in from all sides like beetles swarming. Justos is the first to fall, overwhelmed by a mass of bodies, concussed to the floor by thrashing limbs.

Turn 3:

Looking around the frantic room Nayvos counts automatically the number of his squad members engaged, 4, Ludus, Maut, Guere, and Titus. Turning to Coyrn he sternly orders them "to engage with support" emphasizing to the new brother to not "get stuck cleansing these abominations alone less they get overrun!" Both brothers turn sharply as shout shrieks through the com line and Ludus is propelled backwards over the defense line holding a left shoulder gnarled from a deep Power Axe wound. Among the swarm of zombies Nayvos's sharp eyes can see a marauder dressed in their deep purple robes and blasphemous writing etched onto their skin. They were responsible for this nightmare.

Turn 4:

Seeing an opening in the Templar line the zombie horde near Ludus' previous position move to take the hill. Realizing the gap in defense Nayvos prepares for the worse when The maneuver is cut short as Sol charges toward the horde. Over the com link Nayvos speaks directing his voice toward the courageous brother, "No pity, no remorse". The squad, even though facing several combats themselves understand without looking, he is sacrificing himself to close that gap.

Turn 5:

'Three brothers have already fallen and still the tide is unchanged!'thought Guere as his chainsword tears another zombies head from it's shoulders. Turning to regroup with Coyrn and his beloved Sword brother the familiar wisp of their gun emplacements fired overhead on the group encompassing Sol's position. "Their Warleader is-" speaks Nayvos over the com cut short by the heavy bolter round lodged in his side. Falling beside a wounded Confessor on the defensive line, Nayvos finishes his sentence, pain tensed in his voice "... He is down.... We need to regroup and get out of here...."

Turn 6:

Locking eyes again with Nayvos, the Confessor sergeant looks down at his mortally wounded brother that he was attending. He knew it, now was the time to act if any. Climbing back to his feet and rushing into the nearest enemy he cut into it's putrid flesh with impressive intensity. Tael watching this signaled his remaining brothers around them as the emplacements fired on the last two marauders within the zombie horde. 'They will make their last stand here' thought Tael.

Turn 7:

But the Confessor sergeant knew better. They might have been trapped but they were not stupid. He had his men mine the western entrance just before the last assault before the Templar brothers had come to their aid. Now he would return that favor. Over his chapter's private com channel he gave the order. Tael and Coyrn turned to see the West entrance erupt in controlled flame putting the zombies local to the blast in pieces on the ground. Maut and Guere fought those left as the others grabbed the wounded and retreated down the hall toward their ship.

Hope this wasn't too late but I got this game in last week but just now written up. It shouldn't impact much so you can move it if you need to.

Pregame:

Regrouping from overrun hall the group made good time moving quickly down a west facing hall until the Confessor sergent turned into a compact room. A buzzing light flickered on as they entered revealing a large cache of equipment. From what Guere could tell there were even several jumppacks among the  crates of weapons. The sergent removed his helm and faced the battered squads. He spoke elgant and strong, thought Tael, like a true Son of Dorn. At last he spoke, "I am sergent Ruslan Suvorov of the Confessors and we thank you fellow brothers for coming to our aid." Honor filled the air about the Templar but was cut short as he continued, "However, if we all hope to make it out of here we will need more than keen heroics to survive". "Then what do you propose we do brother?" the reply came from Sword Brother Nayvos who had propped himself against the door with his CHainsword. "That is why we came here. We stockpiled some of these weapons hoping to use them and the jumppacks to make a break from this station when we were ambushed like your squad in that main room". Surveying the equipment Titus replied "But there are only 6 Jumppacks and 15 of us". "Most of which are injured," added Sol bearing several grievous wounds and being held up by 2 of his brothers. "That is correct but I have a plan" Ruslan started, "we will split into 2 groups- one with the injured and 1 with the packs to draw the foe away. The second team will distract them and then manuever to be picked up on the way out of here".
Nayvos knew this was the only way to save the few injured in his squad. They would never be fast enough but Ruslan's plan was good and would work so he conceeded. "I will be a part of the team, I am their Sword brother" Nayvos said when Ruslan finished. Maut, Ryhl, Titus, and Guere all volunteered while Tael would lead the injured back to the ship.
"I will be the final man" Ruslan said to Nayvos. "Brother you have done enough" replied Nayvos in protest but Ruslan was already opening a crate. "It is my plan and I will execute it or die trying to do so, plus why miss an opportunity to smite the foes of the throne with weapons such as these" Ruslan said while holding a pair of lightning claws and a power sword.

Batrep:

Turn 1:
Ruslan split the group into three groups to run through the opposing forces of Chaos. Titus and Ryhl would take the north equipped with a Lightning claw each while Guere followed Ruslan with his famed claw and Nayvos with his power sword took the south. Maut selected his prized relic bolter as he staulked down the center.

Turn 2:
The cultists heard the Templars long before they could see them. They had moved up to close to the advance to be able to react in time. The chaos marines had just made it up the central ramp to try and block Maut's advance when a frag grenade bounced close. Reacting quickly the chaos marine kicked it to a lower level but it exploded on cultists below claiming both their lives. Titus and Ryhl flew out of cover into the remaining cultists killing them to the man. To the south Guere and Nayvos take down more cultists who tried to block their way as Ruslan engages another.
Unfortunately as a painful shriek airs over the comm link as Maut's wounded body flies from the center platform to the feet of Titus and Ryhl. The Chaotic Champion and his lackey, wretched in flames from Maut's relic bolter, roar an unholy challenge from the platform where Maut had stood. Ruslan hearing the detestable bellowing of the Heretic-feth noted the steel resolve of his brothers Nayvos and Guere. The fire in their eyes were zealous and furious, they would win this day.

Turn 3:
Ruslan seeing his time to break through the lines passes over the remaining cultist in the hall making it just far enough to get to the Stormbird's LZ. However Nayvos and Guere had no such luck, as both brothers overtaken with their zeal charge the enemy. The Marine struck true but was knocked unconcious as the cultist unveiled his chaotic secret. Knocking Guere out with a severe blow Naycos was left watching feet from the LZ. Brothers Titus and Ryhl made a last stitch effort as the Chaotic Marine warband turned every available gun upon them. Titus bravely charged the Melta gunner as Ryhl launched himself upon the grotesquely bloated Chaos marine. Titus' claw stole a leg and arm from the gunner but was wounded deeply by the close range weapon. Ryhl's blows found home and fell the target however the Champion was there as Ryhl turned throwing him wounded into the wall. Nayvos was all alone.....

Turn 4:
His force broken, Nayvos' resolve held despite the losses. He pointed his relic blade at the Champion uttering no word, blood boiling in his face and palms, ready to avenge his brothers when the wall opposite his brother's burst forth. The Stormbird's multiple assualt cannons fell upon the enemy cutting each of them down while Tael sprung from an open hatch. Tael's bladed chainsword cut down a chaotic marine as he retrieved his 3 heavily injured brothers. The Champion seeing a chance to pounce made his move toward the turned Tael when his skull burst into white hot flame. Maut sitting against the wall lowered his tired arm holding the smoking bolter the Champion's corpse falling limp to its knees. Nayvos, seeing his brother's rescued strode triumphantly toward the LZ to board his Storm bird. The deed was done, their brother's rescued, the mission a success.

It has been an honour fighting beside you Marshal Zappin, thank you for rescuing Sergeant Ruslan and his squad-- losing such a stalwart brother of our chapter would've dealt the Confessors a telling blow.

With any luck, our actions in NX-03 have helped push back the traitorous tide in NX-03, or at least stayed that accursed wave for now.
